They took wonderful care of my cat during our two week vacation and I'm so thankful! Their boarding services are priceless.

I made an appointment ahead of time, I was there 3 hours! $189 for 2 check ups & 1 Vitamin B12 shot. The whole time ALL they wanted was to UP SELL me things. NOTHING to help with the oozing eyes, sneezing, dehydration/diarrhea. Cats were sketetal, starving. Petsmart sold EVERYTHING I needed. Probiotics DID NOT HELP. No stuffing pills down their throats like THIS vet recommended. Lysine for the colds and Gentamicin for eyes cured them! An anti-diarrheal worked in an hour! Cost $10 @ Petsmart. Sheba cat food got them eating. AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COSTS! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WILL NOT BE BACK.

I took my cat to the cat specialist for a thyroid treatment. They were awesome! The are very detailed in how they communicate everything from how the treatment works, to how they take care of the patients to what home care needs to be. I was very impressed with their work. They obviously care for every cat that comes in the door and work hard for the patients and their humans.

Best place for boarding, veterinary, specialty (they do iodine treatment for thyroid problems in cats).I've seen cats flown in from all over the country to see Dr Olson in the 23 yrs that I've been going thru them. Alot of kitty family in those years! They treat your like they are theirs, very lovingly.and respectful. Any questions, just call them!

We took are cat Jack in for iodine treatment for his hyperthyroidism a couple weeks ago. Before his treatment poor Jack was extremely active, eating like crazy and meowing all hours of the night and day. Within a couple days of treatment it was a totally different story. Jack was calm, eating normal amounts of food and the constant meowing stopped. Absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Thanks to all of the outstanding and caring staff at the cat specialist.

I never leave reviews because I try to give benefit of the doubt, but I work at a vet clinic as a receptionist and I was really put off by how I was treated today when I called. I would never be allowed to be short and rude to potential clients calling for information, regardless if they just moved from out of state or were just looking for a new clinic.

I just paid over $3500 for two new exotic shorthair kittens and was encouraged by the professionalism and compassion of the website. Since I work at a standard practice, I wanted to take them to a cat specialist for the best of care since this is a breed that has special needs. I got a rude "No" when I asked if they were accepting new clients. No apology, nothing.

I asked for any recommendations. "Most cat specialty clinics here are full." Well okay. Very disappointing and very hurt. I wanted to give them my business and come bring in my new kittens but unfortunately that kind of treatment coming from a clinic with great reviews in a high profile area was anything but extremely disappointing. Very sad.

Highly recommend! We took our 11yr old Calico here for radio active iodine treatment (hyper thyroid). She doesn't do well with vet visits and it causes a lot of stress. Cat Specialist was quiet and clean. We were greeted immediately and brought back to a private room to see the Veterinarian. Our cat seemed much more relaxed. Costumer service is top notch and everyone there makes you feel very comfortable.

I love that they are dedicated to cats. Due to COVID, they pick your pets up at your vehicle and deliver them back to you. They practiced social distancing with me. You speak to everyone by phone to discuss everything, and it was really easy. They are thorough in their questions to assess your cat's health. Everyone there has been super friendly and seems to genuinely care.

If there are any minor issues, they ask if you want them to follow up in a few months to see if they need to come back in. They've been my vet since I moved to CR and I would highly recommend them. Plus, this is the view as you wait. Update: One of my kitties had an upset tummy after her rabies booster and stress of the trip. I called the office and was able to speak to the Doc and we agreed to keep an eye on her. She is fine now. They also called to follow up the next day to see how both kitties were, which was really nice.

I have two cats that I take to cat Specialist. They are very informative and kind to my babies! I'm very happy with the care that they give! Slinky and Frisky will continue to go here. Thanks again for your loving care!

The doctors are very knowledgeable and the staff is professional. One area of improvement they could work on is the doctor reading the message from the client that they need a prescription. Twice now I've called an hour after they've opened and waited until almost closing time to find out if the doctor has received my message to approve a prescription needed for my sick kitty.

I decided to write this review the second time this has happened.1 hour & 45 minutes and they close and I've still not heard back. When I follow-up on my earlier call of the day I get told the doctor hasn't checked messages yet.

After a horrible experience trying to get my cat groomed previously, I was totally relieved with the service my cat received from the people at Cat Specialist. I felt like they had my cat's best interest in mind at all times and handled her well even though she can be difficult and aggressive. The prices are a bit expensive, but it was worth it to me to leave my cat in such capable hands. I live 30 minutes away but will definitely be returning for future grooming appointments.

The receptionist Elsy was short and indifferent when I would call for help with emergency medical issues. I can not recommend this vet. They do not give 3-4 or-5-star treatment. The location is an industrial area causing concern for pet safety. The economy is about to fall into a deep depression, I hope they take reviews seriously and make improvements. Not sure they can last with such poor standards of treatment.

Would not recommend at all. 1. Very expensive compared to other vets. 2. Spams your email address trying to oversell you. 3. Had my newly adopted kitten in for a checkuP and boosters. Most all shots were completed from the Dumb Friends League. After a month I called in and they told me that they would have to start shots all over because I waited too long in between boosters.

I disagreed so I went for a second opinion at The Vet at Petsmart and thEy said the shots were not due for another 8 months! They said the shots from the adoption and the so-called Cat specialists were sufficient. Very dishonest and greedy. beware!

After a horrible grooming experience at a different place, the people at the Cat Specialist really helped me feel comfortable and confident with the handling of my cat. She has really bad anxiety in new places and especially doesn't like being groomed. Even though I wasn't able to meet face to face because of COVID-19 restrictions, I was informed about every step of the process.

I truly believe they cared about my cat as much as I do and recommended the best option for her and the situation. I definitely think the care my cat received was worth the price.

The vet techs at Cat Specialist were compassionate, patient, and very easy to communicate with. We're so very grateful for the radioactive iodine therapy that saved our cat's life. HOWEVER, Dr. Olson went on a long, winding, and completely inappropriate racist tirade (literally complained how the Native Americans should have assimilated more willingly to colonization!) during our consult after our cat had been taken back for treatment. Yes, your cat will likely receive excellent treatment. But please consider avoiding Dr. Olson and instead make an appointment with one of their other vets on staff.

I had a cat that was severely congested for months I took him to 4 different vets I knew something was very wrong everyone said he's fine he just has a respiratory infection they you can't do anything about. I took him to different vets maybe 20 times in the 4 months, I knew something was wrong. By the time I heard of this place he had lost 6lbs in 2 weeks, lost his sight, ability to use his legs, couldn't eat or drink or use the bathroom in his litter box only on himself.

He had nasal cancer, which can be treatable but he was too far gone. They were very honest with me and told me it was best to put him down which at this point I already knew for myself they were reasonably priced for everything they did and even though it ended with my baby being put down I appreciate the honesty and the actual listening to me. I wish I found them sooner.

We took our 13 year old cat Rusty to the Cat Specialist feline veterinary clinic in back in December 2018 due to extreme weight loss. They diagnosed her with hyperthyroidism. She was treated there with radioactive iodine therapy and within a few months, she was like a new cat. She went from 6 lbs to almost 10 lbs in 6 months. She fluffier, happier and much more sociable.

They are one of only a few veterinary clinics in the state that does this therapy. Dr. Olson and Dr. Lavallee are awesome! They really care about your cat and are very thorough. I would highly recommend this clinic for your kitty.

One of the most absolutely disorganized clinics I have been to. Training seems to be subpar next to none. With overworked, stressed, and unheard veteran employees (in which they really do care about each client) as well. It pains me to say this, because I really did want to like this Clinic. As I came here more. The lack of care within upper management showed quite a bit.

They seemed to discourage questions, gave late paychecks(just overheard employee fights about this unfortunately), and displayed very defensive demeanors when asked simple questions. Which overall just lead to disappointment and myself starting to look elsewhere anyway. Which did lead me to a better clinic. Hopefully they can improve some of their business practices.

Which will hopefully lead to a lesser turnover rate. (Edit: Which is kind of ironic that suddenly the term of notice, is now called "let go.") This does further display the defensive behavior behind this Clinic unfortunately. Hopefully, these issues can be address in a progressive way because there is a lot of potential here with their employees. ------ Edit: I don't understand why late reimbursement of scrubs was brought into the office management's comment, unless this was another issue previously? Anyway, best of luck for positive change to this Clinic again and the great C.V.T's here.

Charges an extra $40.00 for the office visit if your pet was seen by another vet to " review the records". I have the treatment records, but they insisted on charging the extra money to look at two pages where two sets of shots were administered. Be sure to get the fee schedule prior to making your appointment as their fee schedule is not posted on the web site.

They are so knowledgeable and caring here. They are so good at diagnosing the issues and medicating appropriately. Also they are cognizant that some medicine/treatments cost more than others and will tell you in advance the pros/cons of options or tests. Best vet I have ever been to!

I used to love coming to this vet but things have changed since Dr. Olson's daughter took over. I know they're highly skilled vets with exceptional education which is why I justified the extra cost but last few times it feels like I'm not really getting the exceptional service I use to receive from this practice. My cat was in for her 6 month check up and they doubled her vaccine accidentally.

They hired other staff or let go other staff (the staff I used to see all the time was amazing) Another time is right after I brought my cat home from the vet she started to scratch her ears to the point I had to get her a steroid shot to stop the itching at another vet. They have limited time available it's really difficult to get an appointment to do a follow up checkup without having to request time off work.

I would only consider taking my cat here again if I can specifically see Dr. Olson but he's not really available either. Overall I'm really disappointed and still looking for another exceptional vet for my cats.

I took my VERY feisty cat into the Cat Specialist today, as no one has been able to figure out how to cut her nails.not even me! She refused to let anyone even come to close to her paws without scratching them & attempting to bite them. It was BAD! The staff at my vets office recommended, after they attempted several times.that I take her to the Cat Specialist. So, I did just that & I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE!

They were so nice & extremely understanding of the situation. Sue- the woman who took care of my cat while I was there, was AMAZING! I told her that I would not be returning to my regular vets office, but instead.we will now be going to the Cat Specialist!

I can't say enough good things about Cat Specialist. Dr. Lavallee has been taking care of my older cats since we moved to Castle Rock. She absolutely has a passion for cats and treating them for their individual needs. We recently found out that one of our cats had an incurable form of intestinal cancer. Dr. Lavallee gave us all of our options up front and even took time after hours to call me personally and talk to me while I was grieving.

We eventually had to lay the cat to rest because of a decline in quality of life. Dr. Lavallee was there for us the whole way and made the entire process a lot less stressful. We later received a beautiful hand written sympathy card that brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine taking my cats anywhere else. All of the assistants here are wonderful and very knowledgeable. The kitty B&B looks amazing, though we haven't used it yet. I highly recommend Cat Specialist, you will not get this level of care and knowledge anywhere else.

I have nothing but accolades for Cat Specialist. They were kind initially on the phone when discussing my cat's hyperthyroidism, I know how people go on and on about their pets so I tried to keep it to a minimum. After contacting several Vets I decided to go with them. (It helped that they were also the lowest cost, but that wasn't what tilted the scale) My Sam is now recovering nicely.

He stopped continually eating while simultaneously gaining weight. The treatment, I-131 worked beautifully. Flawless from start to finish. Trust me, I've done all the research for you, go to Cat Specialist.

It's unfortunate, of course, to have to come to Cat Specialist, but also a godsend that they are here for us and our feline friends when the time is needed. My conversations with both doctors were incredibly insightful and a refreshing change from almost all my other interactions with vets. They spent the time to explain some of the ongoing research and controversies over treatments for feline hyperthyroidism and chronic renal failure in veterinary medicine right now, and I left feeling more confident in my own judgment and ability to provide home support for my cat.

My 16 year old kitten stayed for four days for radioactive iodine treatment and she even gained a substantial amount of weight before leaving. She's continuing to gain weight and inch closer to her normal self after treatment. I've also, on the advice of Drs. Olson and Lavallee, introduced the addition of high protein homemade food, subcutaneous fluids, and nutritional supplements to help support my geriatric cat. Frankly, I feel like she has gotten a new lease on life and I am optimistic she's still got a few of her nine to use up. Sadly, radioactive cat has not shown any new superpowers, but she could be just biding her time.

Remember: No, it is not OK for your cat to vomit hairballs frequently. So happy and grateful that I found Cat Specialist after taking my two cats to various vet practices in Douglas County over the past eight years. Dr. Lavallee and the staff are absolutely caring and knowledgeable about cats. They take the time to actually answer my questions in great detail; and, treat my cats and me with respect, compassion, and a wonderful calming sense of humor.

Now my one cat is thriving after being properly diagnosed with intestinal cancer. My second cat is being thoroughly evaluated after developing an vomiting issue in the last six months. I know that my cats are getting quality care and that they are and will be given the proper treatment.

The staff at Cat Specialists really care about the kitties as well as their owners. Breeze, my cat, had to undergo the hyperthyroid treatment with iodine radiation. Every step of the way the staff and the doctors were empathetic and educational. It's hard to find commitment and just genuinely nice people like this today. Great job! I later found out that both Dr Olson and his daughter received their education at Cornell vet school, considered to be one of the best in the country.

The whole staff is passionate about what they do. Honestly, I think Dr Olson could talk for hours about cats and their care and I love that :-. Blessed to have them so nearby!

We had a 20 year old cat that was on her last days. We took her over to Dr. Olson and he was outstanding. He helped her as much as he could but was very honest with us about her prospects. We appreciated the candor as well as the compassion and it made our decisions much, much easier. The whole staff at Cat Specialist are compassionate and professional but take not only the cat but the own into account. What a fantastic place.
