My Dogs Mind is a community-oriented professional dog training facility. We specialize in basic obedience, behaviour modification, socialization, puppy development, and we even have a day school. We've kept it small because that's what works. My Dogs Mind provides its services in both private lessons and small group classes. We believe in treating both the handler and dog with honesty and integrity; using clear communication and trust for rapid adaption with long-term results. Our common-sense approach combines hours of instruction and handling to keep our training fresh, effective and rewarding.

Terence loves dogs and is seldom seen without one by his side. With the creation of My Dogs Mind about two decades ago, Terence has been fortunate to do what he loves on a daily basis and pass his knowledge and enthusiasm on to hundreds of dogs and their owners. Terence is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals member no.
A perfect place to learn. My Dogs Mind's training facility "MDM2" features a tack shop with high-end dog products and premium foods for purchase. Our quiet and comfortable upstairs studio is for new dog evaluations and personal training sessions. All indoor group classes take place downstairs in our main studio.
Let's face it, sometimes human schedules and priorities don't quite align with what your dog would consider a day well spent. Now there is Day School. My Dogs Mind offers a limited number of dogs the opportunity to play and interact safely under the constant supervision of the My Dogs Mind staff, all day long.
Although methods of training may differ greatly, like specific tools in a box, our core methodology has remained constant, simple and easy to understand. We treat dogs fairly with clear distinction between what is and is not acceptable behavior. We never display anger, frustration, or abuse. We show our human patrons the same courtesy and honesty we would expect from any professional service.

Margaret is a most knowledgeable trainer who offered excellent suggestions for working with our new rescue dog, Theo, a 4 yr old Bouvier des Flandres. She doesn't just say, "Do this." She explains how and why each action will result in positive results, and assigns homework between each private session. We look forward to our next visit.

Fantastic dog training facility, where they give tips and tricks for training puppies and older dogs alike. We were running into some growing pains with our new puppy, and with Terrance and Margaret's excellent guidance we've been able to navigate and temper "puppy energy" and are well on our way to training an amazing German Shepherd/Husky. I can't thank them enough for showing us the latest techniques, and above all, patience. I absolutely will be recommending them to all friends and family who need it!

My wife and I just rescued a 1.5 year old Pitty He was chained to a tree outside for all of those 1.5 years.as you can imagine he has a few trust issues. The trainers at My Dogs Mind are helping us understand his fears and needs. After being with us for less than 2 months our new addition is adjusting well and we are happy to say he is trusting us more and more every day. It is a pleasure working with the folks at My Dogs Mind and very much recommend their knowledge, skill and kindness in helping anyone with their pet.

Sorry to say I wasn't impressed at all with this place. I went in for their consultation and I wasn't expecting much but it was worse than I anticipated. The trainer basically told me nothing of use and that she wasn't going to be able to train my dog to do what I was asking for which was already in my initial request. This is what particularly bothered me.
If what I was asking for was unrealistic then why did they schedule a $50 consult to tell me that? Then the trainer tried to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't want, one of which she personally financially benefited from (which she shared.?). The owner came through, not even a hello. Consultations are overhead and the cost of doing business. It's a pass from me.

I'm absolutely blown away by the service and care we've received from MDM. They are great. Our initial visit with Katie was excellent and the trainer Margaret has gone over above and beyond day after day in getting our puppy trained for an incoming baby. I would recommend these guys forever. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us!

We heard a lot of good things about My Dogs Mind and we went in for a consultation. It was good and they were well equipped and well organized. They went thru a few of the training elements and spoke about the program. We wanted to give some more thought before we committed, however upon leaving we were charged a $45 fee. Maybe we misunderstood the whole fee thing, but we were surprised. It's like a roofer showing up and charging for an estimate.

I recently adopted two rescue dogs. They've never been taught simple manners or obedience. But at two years old I had more than my hands full. Terrance and Margaret have been awesome. They truly listen to you, non judgemental (as many other trainers have been towards me). They hear my concerns and future goals and set up and help me implement a plan to get there. If you have what you think is a "tough" case, need to be reminded of basic training (it's been a while for me), or truly need help. Terrance and Margaret are the answer.

The facility is big and instructor was nice but in 5 weeks, the dogs only learned sit, down and to come when called for short distances. 85% of each class, the puppies played during socialization time which is important but i feel like i paid $125 to watch my dog play with other puppies. We used PetSmart for our other dog and he learned more for less money. Overall pretty disappointed with the little that my puppy learned here.

Gifted trainer. Really good working with the dogs and understanding clients needs. We always look forward to our sessions. We are so pleased with the results. Great facilities were everything is available. We purchased training collars, leads, and treat / bait bags here. We own large breed dogs that were rescues. We will highly recommend My Dogs Mind to friends and family.

We're so impressed with Terence and My Dog's Mind. We've completed our fourth class of Jump Start Puppy class, and we like how he presents a few things to work on each week, includes supervised socializing time, and answers questions. The facility is really clean, easy to find, plenty of parking. The teaching is fun, easy to understand and a comfort in the sometimes confusing stressful puppy stage.
The techniques Terence teaches have proved effective and we like how the approach is positive. His experience and expertise shows. When I had questions during the worst puppy nipping stage before the class started, the trainer on duty had me stop by and gave me some quick hints to help get us in the right track. A game changer. I would recommend MDM to anyone committed to raising a great dog in a respectful way.

Unbelievable! A HUGE thank you to Ellen who is the absolute best. We took our **hyper** 2 year old black lab to see her for 2 private lessons on the e-collar and he is a TOTALLY new dog! Prior to seeing Ellen our pup couldn't be off leash and had "selective hearing" when it came to obedience. After a few quick weeks of seeing Ellen and at home training he can be off leash at our lake house and responds to every single command even with countless distraction. We can't thank the trainers at My Dogs Mind enough!

Well-organized facility with staff super knowledgeable about dogs & training. I'm on the older side with a large german shepherd that I sometimes don't have the strength to control - especially on icy sidewalks! Trainer Margaret Palladino "gets" my dog and "gets" me. Helped us find easy, effective strategies that really work. SO grateful!

I have been bringing my puppet there since she was 12 weeks for training. I have been doing private lessons because my schedule with my husband and kids didn't work well with group classes. My trainer Danielle has been amazing, so patient and now that we are past the basic puppy training she really focuses on techniques that I need for real life. Walking on a leash with kids and a stroller has been a huge thing for me and my dog is doing great. I plan on continuing her training and I wouldn't go anywhere else!
