Fantastic place! Dr. Anjali Pingle was so warm and compassionate with my baby, and her acupuncture was a godsend! Sad that this place closed but fortunate Dr. Pingle is still practicing in the area!

The closure of Paws and Claws was the saddest thing for us. I was bringing my two dogs there for years. Both dogs were spayed here, and one of the dogs was operated by Dr Bregman when no other doctor wanted to take a risk. He did an excellent job. Dr Bregman is very straight forward and honest, professional, and caring. All staff was great, helpful, and trying to always accommodate. I hope the place will re-open soon because there is no other clinic like this in Brooklyn.

A solid good place that does really care. I am fairly blunt myself so I love the honest communication that happens here and I don't see the issue with it. Front desk staff is the kindest and sweetest. I ask a million question and am not the easiest, they are great! The doctor knows his stuff and does indeed really care about animals. I have a few friends who feel the same about this place, it really deserves more credit than it gets. They always take care to save us money as well.

DO NOT GO here if you have an EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL. They charge $50 per AIRLINE to fill out a single page form. This used to be a good place to go in Williamsburg. It has changed. Poor bedside manner from Mr Bregman. If you decide to go, see the female veterinarian. That is the best advice I can give. Vaccinate elsewhere.

I am so grateful for Dr. Allen, Aja and team! I felt I was wildly taken advantage of by my previous vet visit in Greenpoint, so gave Paws N Claws a shot and feel so much better! My poor kitty got a case of worms, and the previous vet was expensive, and didn't even cure my cat (also very rude). After noticing the problem had not been solved, I took my cat to Paws and Claws.

The team at Paws N Claws saw my cat right away, was affordable, timely, and even threw in some free high-fiber food for his diet! I am confident with the medication Dr. Allen prescribed and very happy they are here to help!

Just came home from paws and claws after our 5 year old cat. The visit itself was great and we haven't experienced anything bad. The service was great and fast too. Doctor came on time, never tried to push us to do something we didn't need. Overall this place is good

SUMMARY: This vet appears to know his stuff, but he is overdramatic in his delivery, defensive when asked questions and withholds information as he sees fit. In particular he misled me about a controversial vaccine and ordered a more expensive test than was needed. Not the vet for me. DETAIL: I came here with two young kittens. Before they even were out of the carrier, this vet told me they were some of the sickest cats he's ever seen and I needed to prepare for their long, emotional, and expensive journey to recovery.

I knew the kittens had an upper respiratory infection, but I was surprised to hear how concerned he was about them - they had been playing, eating and sleeping like normal cats despite their runny noses! His tone was so serious and dramatic that I asked if he thought they would die in the next few weeks. (It sounded that serious to me!) He told me, "There's no way for me to answer that question." This just confused me more. are they severely ill or not?!

He was very dismissive of their former vet (the vet the breeder had used) and all the information the breeder/vet had given me. Several times he tried to convince me to legally pursue the breeder under New Jersey law for giving me sick animals. (I finally had to shut him down on this point and tell him I would take care of that without his advice and it was none of his business - he was being really pushy about it!) At the end of the appointment, after all the hoopla about how sick the cats were and how misinformed the vet/breeder were, he ended up just prescribing them the same medicine they were already on for another 10 days!

So much for him knowing better than everyone else. I decided to get a second opinion from another vet, and I'm glad I did. Ultimately, the vet at Paws & Claws did prescribe my kittens the right medicine and was correct in his guesses about why they were sick and what other problems they might have - but his tableside manner was not very sensitive and I feel MUCH more comfortable discussing my pets' health with the new vet that I have.

Beyond his tableside manner, though, there were three things in particular that I found totally unacceptable about this vet's behavior: 1. FIP VACCINE: The FIP vaccine for cats is very controversial, and for good reason. My breeder had warned me to not get this vaccine without doing a lot of research. During the vet appointment, I couldn't remember the exact vaccine that the breeder had warned me about, so I asked the vet if there were any particularly controversial vaccines that I should research before moving forward with them.

He rolled his eyes and said "every breeder has something they don't want you to do, they don't know anything though." A simple Google search for "controversial cat vaccine" will show you there's only ONE that everyone disagrees about. Why would a vet withhold information like this from a new cat owner? 2. KITTEN'S AGE: My kittens are both a small breed, so they were ~3-4 lbs at 5.5 months.

A typical cat gains lb/month, so ~5-6 pounds at 5.5 months. The vet was SHOCKED at the weight of my kittens, in utter disbelief they were not 5 lbs, and told me the breeder had most likely lied to me about their age. When I explained that they were a small breed and maybe that accounted for their weight, he dismissed me by saying he had been a vet for many years and worked with many kittens.

Of course, the NEW vet that I use just took one look at their teeth and said, "Yup, you're right about their age! Small cats, huh?" 3. RINGWORM TEST: To diagnose my kittens with ringworm, this vet used a culture test, which costs over $200. However, there is a much simpler, cheaper test that uses a blacklight to check for ringworm. (So simple my new vet charged $0 for it.) If no ringworm shows up under the blacklight, then it would make sense to order a culture test. However, the blacklight is basically a free option for checking for ringworm WITHOUT needing the culture test. It reflects poorly on this vet that he went straight to the expensive culture test instead of the cheap and easy blacklight.

This clinic charged me $375 for a heath certificate for travel(!), a visit that took 30 min or less and required NO vaccines/treatments, simply a signed piece of paper stating that my pet is good for travel. I was absolutely shocked when the receptionist told me the amount (I should have asked for an estimate before hand but could never have imagined it was almost $400).

I even called other vets in the area afterwards to compare their prices for this and no one even charges half what this clinic charges. Another clinic closest to them charge only $106! Total rip-off froths place. On top of that, the vet had a very negative attitude about "having to do this" and how "exhausting" it apparently is to gather a couple of pieces of info from my pup's medical records. It's your job! I should not have to feel like I am inconveniencing YOU by bringing my pet to your VET clinic. 15/10, will not re-visit.

HORRIFIED BY HOW WE WERE TREATED! Had an appointment for our two dogs at 3:45pm. Unfortunately we were late 5 minutes, and the receptionist called us right before we came in to confirm we were on our way. As soon as we came in, the vet standing by the front desk blurts out "I can't see both of your dogs since you are late. I only have 15 minutes for every dog, so decide who gets seen." Ummmm. wow, ok.

There was NOBODY ELSE at the clinic waiting to be seen, so I am surprised at the doctors "ultimatum". I understand we were a few minutes late, but maybe change your attitude and try your best to see both dogs? How about being a caring human, and a compassionate animal doctor, not just another asshole trying to get trough his day just to collect a check. DESPICABLE!

It took us an hour to get to this clinic, and the doctor didn't care at all. He told his receptionist RIGHT IN FRONT OF US "Come get me out of here at 4:15pm. Make sure I am out no later than that." Excuse me, but can you please act like you care and at least ask us about why we are visiting? Can you please try to see both dogs? And you know what he said to us "I'm done.

Get outta here, I don't need this from you." HORRIBLE! Another DISGUSTING customer service from a Brooklyn Vet. How is this a trend now in Williamsburg? BAD BAD BAD! DO NOT GO HERE! What a ripoff.

I absolutely love the staff here. Dr. Bregman is so nice and patient with my less than friendly cat (he's so skiddish). The location is great and the prices are the lowest in the area. Their vaccination prices were half of what a vet wanted to charge me at a place in Greenpoint. They have weekend appointments, which is pretty much all that will work with my schedule. Also, there is always plenty of parking out front (at least there is on Saturday). Highly recommended!

Brought my dead cat here to be cremated and the receptionist yelled at my husband and i and badgered us for her age. Disrespectful and nasty.

Wonderful care. The front desk was great and for me in when a chair fell on my dogs paw. It turned out the nail was smashed to bits. They took a little off the bill, gave me wrappings for her wound and were amazing. Especially since the vet stayed late on a Saturday night.

Wish I could give zero stars, this place sucks. All I needed was to get meds for a rescue dog I'm fostering who has worms. Thought I'd try this place since they are in my neighborhood but GOD FORBID you're A LITTLE because you're trying to get a fecal sample (which they asked for). I called to tell them I was running a couple minutes late.

When I got there it was EMPTY which is no surprise now given my experience. Then I was rudely told I had to wait for the next appointment AFTER me to show up, since I was 10 minutes late. Such Bullshit. I cancelled the appointment on the spot and am just going to order what I need online. I sincerely hope this place goes out of business. They made something that should have been easy & straightforward complicated & unpleasant.

Hi all, I brought my cat in because he was rather sick and not eating. The thing I hate about this vet is that it really does have all the classic signs of a chain that is not run properly. All the offices are spread thin. Sometimes the vets are not in or take off for the day. Just like humans, animals need stable hours for medical issues. My appointment was at 6:00.

They had someone scheduled for 5:40. This is just another classic sign of being a poorly taken care of chain. No visit is really going to be only 20 minutes and yet they scheduled us back to back. Because of this they didn't have time to do what needed to get done and even stated so. I got a call to go over the blood work they did. At that time I decided to take my cat to another vet.

I asked the vet to fax it over to the other place. This did not happen. They did not fax over the blood work. Although the office was still open no one answered my calls. I had to pay AGAIN for blood work. The place I go to now has regular hours and a number of vets on staff. They take the time to answer questions and explain things. Even when the office is "closed" vets are there returning phone calls to taking care of animals.

Been going to this vet for a while. I have 2 dogs and one cat. For a while I didn't understand the negative yelp reviews- but now I do. Recently they brought a new vet on staff- fresh out of college. Unfortunately this doctor really doesn't know what she's doing. Not to mention she's on schedule like five days a week. She never as answers and it's completely frustrating.

Recently our male cat was having urinary issues and the doctor only took an ultrasound, said his bladder was inflamed, gave us general antibiotics and didn't know what else to tell us. The next day I dropped off a urine sample and told the vet the cats frequency to the litter box was worsening. She just shrugged and said well if he's blocked take him to emergency- I don't know how to do that. Wow.

So now as I sit in my new vets office, I can't believe I ever took him there. The new vet called to get the records and the receptionist gave her lip. She's taking forever to fax the records and when I called gave me the same attitude. Bye bye paws n claws.future patrons beware!

Worst service ever. 2 years ago they wouldn't get me an emergency visit for my 14 year old Italian greyhound. She died at another vet 2 hours later. Today I call and ask if they sell dog food for my 11 year old mutt who has a bladder stone and am told I need a prescription. The empty bag from my current vet isn't good enough--they need a prescription (my current vet doesn't open for another hour) or its a $50 visit. Really? It's dog food--not xanax. It's funny how a simple call for dog food reminds me why I would never take my 3 dogs or 2 cats here for anything but food--and even when I try to give them a chance they remind why I go somewhere else. Even though they are right in my neighborhood it's worth a cab ride to go somewhere else.
