All of our USDA partnered breeders kennels contain direct-access outdoor runs that the dogs can go to 24 hours a day. These runs can then be opened up to large social enrichment areas that are around 2500 sq/ft, with the largest being 3 acres! These areas give the dogs the opportunity to exercise and socialize with other dogs and the breeders themselves which makes for happy hearts all around.

11 years ago or so I went into happiness of pets telling my son we are just looking. After looking at a few dogs finding the perfect then puppy now an adult dog cockier spaniel. While in a room with her several people wanted to buy her but unfortunately we were and did get her. Best decision we ever made not only a great choice but a wonderful dog family dog too. Thank you happiness is pets

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Buying a dog from them was the worst experience ever! Started off with bad customer service, ended up buying a dog just for her to pass away 4 months later. The vets they provide for the 7 day check up are terrible. Called the store several times and was told someone from Corporate would call and never did. It's now April and still no resolution and still paying for a pet I no longer have.

BUYERS BEWARE. Before you buy one of these puppies do your homework. We lost our beloved 4-yr. old Yorkie in January and so we went to the Arlington Heights location to try and replace her. We bought a Yorkie and went to the specified vet hospital for the free checkup. Everything was normal but when we took him to our own vet it was discovered he had a very serious parasite, not just the simple worms puppies get.
This parasite can only be caught at the breeders filthy pens. PLUS it is even dangerous for humans. HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS. As for the reviewer who scoffed at this, saying every puppies has worms and shouldn't think twice about it, does not know what she is talking about. We have bought several puppies over the years and NONE of them ever had worms and/or parasites.
We have been dealing with this issue for OVER 5 weeks. So be sure to check on the breeder's credentials because this issue is only caused by the breeder's pens. We did talk to Karen at the store and she asked us to keep her updated but kind of glossed over the problem saying it was nothing. But it is serious and the parasite is a threat to our other dog and need to keep them separated. She also claimed other dogs on the store did not have ANY worms or parasites which I find incredibly difficult to believe.

Stopped in to purchase our first pet, an Akita, and the manager along with Kylee were super, just incredible and patient. I asked Kylee on two occasions to pull an Akita out so I could watch them play with her to get an idea of their temperament and she was happy to help. Great customer service goes a long way. I am very pleased and will tell others. The facility is clean, the animals look well taken care of.

UPDATE: after a phone call with Justin the owner, it seems that we are on our way to a resolution. we accepted his offer of another dog, one that he assures us has a lineage of temperament testing. He says that the breeders are Canine Care Certified and that the testing is mandatory in that group. What moved me mis about this interaction is that he seemed empathetic to the situation where it concerns our child. "Every boy deserves a dog that he grows up with" is what he said, he gave us the pick of the litter(from a certified breeder) and our son could not be happier! its been a week since we got him home, we are optimistic about this outcome so far.

Everything went great with staff and the buying process until that was over. I called 2 mo after I got him and kindly asked if they could contact the the breeder to ask for photos of Cash's parents. No return call. Two months later I went into the shop and again asked. She wrote some notes down, took pictures of the paperwork from the sale and sent it off to the boss by text message and I still have not heard back. Good otherwise but it's frustrating and not okay to get no response. I'll try one more time but I'm not buying from them again if this continues to be ignored.

DO NOT BUY DOGS HERE. I got a puppy from a different place that luckily closed down. The owners are cruel and inhumane. We adopted a dog here and the dog has multiple behavioral issues. We payed trainers to train our dog and they came to the conclusion that something traumatizing happened to him while he was still young. He has major food agression which I highly suspect is from this place. Also, one second you can be petting him and the next he will bite and draw blood. Whatever this place did to him severely scarred him in some way. I hope this place gets shut down because this has likely happened to other dogs as well.

I was very pleased with Happiness is Pets in Orland. We could not take our pup home until she had a last shot but went in every day to spend time with her. Searched several stores and they were best pricing. We take her to Midwest Animal Hospital as well and got pet insurance. Well worth it. She is healthy, great temperament and active. We feed her quality food, no people food, no issues and certainly not overweight like many I have seen.

I made a visit to the Lombard location, in which I have been doing for the past few weeks. I bought two dogs there 14 years ago and a year ago I put one down and my other one is now sick. So I have probably been there several times in the last month to see what dogs they have in, but I have only asked to see one dog. So I asked to see a dog yesterday 9/19/21 while me and my grandson was visiting and I was told that due to the pandemic they cant come out and not allowing playtime.
So I'm thinking well how do people buy a puppy If they can't pull them out, why are you even open? i would never spent money here again and the older woman that was there is the only one that is rude and unhelpful. She always has her family and dog at the store With her. The younger girls that work there are a delight.

A little late in posting this review but in late June of this year my wife and I came in to purchase a dog and the experience was absolutely incredible. Erica was extremely nice and did not hesitate to answer any of our questions and even took extra time from her day to make sure that we were satisfied and comfortable. We absolutely love our Victorian bulldog. Her name is Vera!

My partner and i are looking to purchase a bulldog puppy (still debating b/n american or victorian) so we asked to "meet" the ones we were interested in that they have (victorian)- staff looked at me head to toe and said" are u buying? we dont take them out to play unless you will buy" so i said "we want to meet them and see which is a better fit" she goes in to say "well if you are ready to buy we have dog that you can buy" i found this interaction very rude, offesnsive, mean, nasty, a disgusting way of speaking to potential customers- or just to another human being- very poor basic customer service. so we just left. needless to say will definitly not be giving these people my buisness. pitty that they are surounded with such loving creatures but staff are filled with nastiness.

DO NOT BUY HERE! THIS PLACE TOOK $2000 from my best friend and I. We were In the process of receiving two Yorkshire's, we paid and received one. Cindy, the manager rushed me to sign a form to save my place for Scruffy- the Yorkshire/mix. Before I signed the documents she informed me that it would save my place to get the dog. However Cindy never informed me that she would not be issuing a refund if the pup was not received.
I signed the form as a deposit for the puppy. Due to a car accident I could not pay the other half of the payment. I told Cindy and she said she would give me a call about a new litter. She never called me. It's been months since we have been in this establishment. I still have not received a refund or a callback for another litter. I took photos of the unsigned receipt made out as a deposit for scruffy, in case something like this happened.

Have been working here for a while and got fired on my day off because of a grown ass woman that works there (KATRINA) and decided to find any little thing to get me fired just because she didn't feel "important" and the owners don't do nothing about it but just have the manager tell me i was fired. If anything the kennel manager katrina is so aggressive with the dogs and doesn't take care of sick dogs! She needs to be fired!

This puppy shop was very expensive in rude, the puppies looked so sad. besides the price I was willing to spend the money, but when I asked a worker can I hold a puppy she responded "do you just want to play with it or are you buying it". however, it was another couple that was holding a dog in I asked were they purchasing and she start to stutter saying she not sure.

They need to shut this place down and I am currently in the process of making that happen happily. If you want to adopt a sick dog that's been bred in a PUPPY MILL and pay close to $5,000 for a dog this place is for you. If they really cared about their pets they wouldn't charge up the ass to give a dog a home right? They WANT YOUR MONEY plain and simple. Dogs are on crates some with beds some with a thin blanket. There paws are constantly on the wire with no cushion. ANIMAL ABUSE. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE THESE DOGS COME FROM PUPPY MILLS AND ARE SICK.

Bought a 10 week old golden retriever puppy in August 2020. Had health issues within days of bringing her home. Took her to the vet recommended by store and was told "she just has a little cold" by the vet. A couple days later she still wasn't feeling better or eating and took her to a different vet and was told she was severely malnourished and underweight, has worms and a virus. Rosie is now 10 months old and is constantly at the vet for digestion issues and eye problems.
We love her so much and she's part of our family so we will do whatever we can to help her get well. But I would never recommend this store to anyone. Do research and find a breeder. After I got my dog I started hearing so many bad things about dogs bought at Happiness is pets and wish I knew this before we went there.

My Pug Muggsy (Pictures included) is from Happiness is Pets - Downer's Grove when they were a little farther down the road from where they are located now. He was actually the 2nd Pug (same place) as the first one (Nibbles) had to be put down shortly after I got him. He had a congenital defect (collapsing trachea) which was to severe and progressed and was irritated after his neuter to the extent that his quality of life would not have been good.
The store did stick to their claim and agreed to reimburse either half the price of the original pet or replace with a pet of equal value. The first one was cheaper when purchased due to him being a bit older so they did make me add on to the cost of Muggsy because he was younger at purchase time. (Not sure I agreed with that especially after they had just sold me a dog that I could only enjoy for 5 months of his life or not even.) At the time I didn't think the pricing was too outrageous especially after seeing the cost of some of the pet store dogs now.
I have had Muggsy now for 10 years this past September. I love him to the moon and back. I am grateful every day I have him that I have got a full life out of him after experiencing the pain of having to let my first one go. I did not experience the crazy high pricing that some reviewers referenced. The people on the floor I had to deal with at the time were relatively nice, not rude.
Especially the second time they were not pushy, they let me take time before bringing Muggsy home by allowing me to place a payment to hold him for a day or so. With that said, these places need to know the dogs aren't purchased without issues. He has had problems with seasonal allergies and joint and bone problems. He has had two surgeries for torn CCLs. He's had digestive problems since he was a puppy.
I understand that even the health of an adopted dog isn't guaranteed but yet you aren't paying out your bum for an adopted dog either. I do believe that if these places cared more about where their dogs were coming from and how they were being bought into this world and raised that maybe just maybe people wouldn't have to suffer the loss of their babies so often. I wanted to share Muggsy's pictures so they can see what might have been just a number to them, but my pride and joy, fully grown 10 years later.

My 4 year old niece wanted to stop in and look at some puppies. This is a nice friendly location. The staff was very nice. Sad that the puppies couldn't come out to play with us due to the restrictions of Covid 19. All the pups were so adorable. The store was very tidy and didn't have a funky odor like the other pet store down the street. You can even purchase some cute toys and other items for your pet. The cages were nice and clean. I was sad that all the Yorkie's were sold.

Horrible place! I got my puppy here and not only that the sales person bs me about their terms and vaccinations I had to pay for my puppies vaccinations and first visit I did not get the "complimentary" visit and the workers are rude over the phone, my puppy came with a bunch of health problems that did not count under their "life threatening"warranty and at the end I was told that it's my fault because I signed the contract when the contract was not explain as it was and again bs to me.
Yes I love my puppy very much she's a sweetheart but this store is full of liars and cheats who care only about money. When they say their puppies are "all up to date" on vaccinations YET again bs I had to get my puppy all vaccinated and payed for the WHOLE thing even if it was under the 30 day period of purchase. Liars and cheats

This location at Lombard has a manager and staffs with a very good customer service, they always keep in touch with me whenever I have questions and concern abt my puppy. The support that they give us abt our new addition and all necessary information to know abt them were so helpful and very supportive. The very first tIme we meet our baby Brownie ( pure breed shitzu ) it's love at first sight.
He give so much joy and happiness to our family. I highly recommend this Happiness is Pets location at Lombard, not only you're getting a good customer service but finding the love of your home too!

This place LITERALLY disgusts me. The puppies are constantly coming in with viruses that are not taken care of by management, they are always understaffed, and they have a major mice problem that has put the puppies in danger. The owners of this store do not care about animals in the SLIGHTEST and only care about making money. If you love animals, rescue one! Or even if you really want to buy a dog, go literally anywhere but here.

Love the pup we purchased, the store and everything else. Received the AKC registration paperwork eventually, with a big help from Naperville store's manager. 10/17/2019 --------------------------------------- Original posting, 10/11/2019 --------------------------------------- Bought a puppy at around the end of June 2019, called them 4-5 times to follow up with the AKC registration paperwork, with 1-3 weeks in between calls to give them chances to mail it.
Every time I called, they said they would put out the AKC registration paperwork in the mail and send it to our address. Haven't heard anything, never received anything until now, October 11. So I just wonder if the puppy is actually registered with AKC as they said (why no paperwork to prove it so far) or their paperwork system is very poor. Now I start thinking if there is anything dishonest/hidden that I just missed.

We purchased a puppy on Saturday and everything was going well until Wednesday night when her belly swelled up and she was crying constantly in pain. I contacted all of the veterinarians that they said to and all said that they could not see her until the next day. I wound up calling another veterinarian office who offered to stay open late as they could hear her crying in the background.
They gave examined her, ran multiple test, even gave her an IV because she was dehydrated. We went home with medicine and a plan to get her healthy again. I called Happiness is Pets the next morning and spoke with the assistant manager just to see if there was anything they could do about the $580 bill. The assistant manager was very nice and said that she was sorry that we went through all of that and that she could not do anything about a refund but she would talk to her manager and explain the situation and told me that the manager would call me back the next day.
The next 2 days came and went with no call from the manager so I called back on Saturday. The manager was very rude and told me that we should have just waited until the next day to see one of their veterinarians. She asked me to text her a picture of my receipt and that her manager will get back to me maybe by next Wednesday. After sending her the text of the picture of receipt she sent me a text (accidentally I am assuming) saying that "this guy just called me screaming." I never even raised my voice at her. Attached is the extremely unprofessional text that I received.
