DOGG House

Our dog was traumatized by this place. They very obviously mistreated him and it took 2 vet appointments for antibiotics to heal him. Very bad place.

We have a difficult dog with his paws getting trimmed and the group at the Dogg House are great with him! Highly Recommend the Dogg House!

We had a trip planned that didn't include our pup. Fortunately, The Dogg House was available. Caring and professional staff, a clean facility, and plenty of excercise will have us return! I'd give six stars if it was an option.

We have been bringing our dogs here for close to 20 years. Never had any problems if anything I would say they go above and beyond. What we have experienced elsewhere.

I have used Megan as my groomer for my small dogs and large dogs for AGES. She is amazing with both and treats all her pups as if they were her own. If she ever stopped grooming I dont know what I'd do. Her mannerisms towards her clients is unparalleled both human and canine. I would highly recommend her for your pups!

Zelda loves staying here and I feel comfortable in the great care and grooming they provide. Also love the customizable broading and one on one play.

Meghan cut my little dogs mouth clear thru the corner and did not even tell me it happened. It happened the end of June and it us still not completely healed. Had she told me what happened the emergency vet who saw him that night would not have missed the injury. It was obvious he was in pain and stressed but even they did not think to check the mouth. This is the second time one if the groomers hurt him and did not let us know. If there were regulation on groomers this one would lose their license.

We board our cat Sunny here every year for vacation. The staff is very friendly, polite and professional.

Megan was wonderful! She took great care of our girl and the result was fantastic! Highly recommend this business. They are professional and personable. In addition, they follow all covid protocols. Thank you!

I've never boarded my 3 dogs and was a little nervous about it. However, the staff couldn't have been nicer and they accommodated us last minute. My dogs came back happy and clean!

Fantastic job! Even found a small cyst on Lincolns chest about the size of a pencil eraser head. Again FANTASTIC JOB!

It was highly recommended by my neighbors and they were right. Had a great experience, they are following all possible CDC guidelines and my pup was happy, clean and taken care of. I also highly recommend it. Staff was friendly and proces were affordable. Will definitely go back.

Kaylee & everyone else was wonderful with our cat! We had to leave him there for a week. They gave him medicine for several days. They also sent me some pics of him while I was out of town. If you have to leave your animal, this is a great place to do it!

ABSOLUTELY fabulous! My dog fozzie is a wheaten / poodle mutt/mix. When we take him to get groomed, if we don't give instructions, he always comes back looking like a shitzu or something else that doesn't look like "him". As a result, I have resulted to giving specific instructions. Most the time, that doesn't get me much further than no instructions at all - because it can be a lot to execute/remember on behalf of the groomer - which i understand. NOT the case at The Dogg House! Amy absolutely nailed it.

We spend most of our time in NYC and this is easily the best groom Fozzie has ever had. Amy listened to my instructions and nailed each one. She was kind and patient with Fozzie, who can be a little nervous around new people and spaces, and yet Amy and the team found a way to manage Fozzie perfectly. On top of that they offered incredibly customer service start to finish and very fair pricing. I cannot recommend The Dogg House or Amy enough. Fozzie and I thank you!

I get my dog groomed here regularly, and they always recognize him and greet him. He's a pretty nervous pup, but he does very well with them. They are professional and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

I love the Dogg House. I have a rat terrier and this has been the only place in Charlottesville where I feel comfortable leaving my dog. I also like that it's not a huge place. The staff seems great.

Super excited to have found somewhere that my pup comes back home healthy, clean, and obviously very happy. We tried two other places in Charlottesville with higher ratings and she came home timid, thinner, and looking a bit frazzled. On top of that the workers actually seem to like animals and are very nice. The other places it was as though you were inconveniencing them.

BOARDING: My dog has stayed here for short stays 24-48 hours and has come back fine, although he always trembles when he reenters the place. Some staff members are very friendly, others not so much. Recently he stayed for a longer period of time and I was told that he did great, no problems. Since coming home his voice has been hoarse and he's unable to fully bark, I'm assuming due to either barking excessively or being choked on a leash during his stay.

He also has an extremely upset stomach - I'm not sure if he caught a GI bug there or if something was off in what he was fed. but he had an accident in his crate - loose stool everywhere as well as vomit, which he has never done in his whole life, even before he was potty trained. He then had several more accidents in the house because he couldn't even make it to the door in time to go outside.

His stool has been loose and yellow for days now and he's also not interested in food. He didn't have any of these issues prior to his stay. Needless to stay, my dog and I will not be returning to the Dogg House.

Regarding grooming - we have a Sproodle (Springer Spaniel Poodle) - Linda gave him his best cut ever! So thoughtful, caring and great attention to detail. Thank you!

I was VERY pleased with our dog's stay while we were out of town for a couple of days! He was very happy when I dropped him off which kind of hurt my feelings a bit, lol! I am really glad he felt so comfortable with the staff :) the staff said he is a very good boarder which I was originally nervous about since this was the first time he had been boarded since 2011. We will definitely use The Dogg House again :)

I've been taking my dog here since I moved to the area over a year ago. At first, they did a very nice job on my dog's cut. I purposely ask for the same lady to ensure a similar look and high quality result each time. During my last visit, I dropped off my dog to the same groomer. When I picked him up, another woman brought him out and had clearly been cutting his hair.

When I left, I noticed that the cut was incredibly uneven and looked like a Kindergarten project. I had to clean it up at home. I was so disappointed because it confirmed that it had been done by a different technician. About 2 days later, I had to take my dog to the vet for an unrelated issue and decided to have his anal glands checked because he had been biting at his rear.

They said the glands had clearly not been expressed for a long time. Dogg House advertises this as part of the grooming services. After that combined experience, I am disappointed to say I will be finding a new groomer.

So, I have found that short stays only (no more for my dogs) would be advisable or just none at all. After using them a few times I left my dogs there for 11 days while on vacation. Picked my otherwise very healthy dogs up and ended up in the Emergency Vet Clinic because one had a UTI.yes, a UTI!?! When I contacted the owner of The Dogg House, Barton, he was defensive, uncaring, refused any responsibility, and get this, hung up on me.

I will never ever take my dogs there again and the more "dog people" I encounter I'm hearing that this is not the first time they've heard of dogs acquiring UTI's while under the care of this facility.

We were leaving town and I forgot to set up boarding for our cat with our vet til the last minute. They were full but recommended The Dogg House. My wife went by and they were very accommodating, even at the last minute. There had been a microburst the day before and things were a mess in the area, but the folks were in there taking care of the animals. Good job! Definitely appreciate the good service.
