So far, have had a pleasant experience at Kennelwood. My girls seemed calm and not so hyper when they came out, and initially I got a full tour of the place, so that put my mind at ease. The people there are so friendly, and everyone seems to have a great knowledge of doggie behavior and they take care of you when checking in or out.

I have been taking my dogs to Kennelwood at Clarkson for over 15 years. Today was my last day. They have steadily gone from good care to indifferent care. The turnover is high and I'm not sure really who is in charge there. The customer service is non existent. After being turned away today for a scheduled bath and grooming for my two dogs, they said they only had down for a bath, no attempt was made to reconcile their mistake or apologize.
It has become a factory where they bring in dogs early morning in mass, no scheduled times and hold the dog in a cage all day until 4:00. They gladly will take the dogs out if the cages if you pay for a day of doggie daycare! It has become a TRUST issue for me leaving my dogs there. THERE ARE MANY OTHER DOG GROOMERS IN THE AREA! I will never recommend Kennelwood again and would encourage others to think twice before using them. Deborah S

I have a male French bulldog who is a year old. A friend of mine recommended Kevin to me for training. Hugo's problem behaviors that we wanted addressed were: listening when called (he can be quite stubborn), jumping on guests, and learning social cues when playing with other dogs. After meeting with the Kevin for the consultation visit, he recommended Hugo completing the the three week training where Hugo would attend daycare to work on the social cue behaviors and also one-on-one training throughout the day.
After completing the three weeks, the only regret we have is not having Hugo go through training with Kevin sooner! Kevin really is a dog whisperer. It is evident he truly cares about your dog and he is wonderful at teaching you how to continue to train and work with your dog at home. Hugo is a changed dog by he's very well behaved and he's also happier now.
He listens and knows commands. He doesn't jump on guests and picks up on social cues from other dogs now too. I am so pleased with the outcome of his training and I highly recommend Kevin for all your doggy behavior needs.

I was nervous at first because my buddy and I have never been apart literally. The staff was very professional and was able to reassure me he would be safe. The facility actually was more than I expected. It was neat, highly organized, and all the dogs were well behaved. The accommodations they had set up for my dog, was top notch. The staff got a full background on my dog including his likes and dislikes. I can't say enough good statements about this business. I am truly a long term customer now.

We brought our sweet Remy girl to the puppy play date at Kennelwood on Page, and she had a blast! The staff was amazing and made us feel reassured when dropping her off for the first time. I highly recommend going to this location to anyone with a new pup as socialization at an early age is so important. They also took photos during the visit so we could see our pup interacting with her fur friends!

This is the second dog that comes here. Doc who is missed terribly loved this place. Went 5 days a week. If he didn't go he would pout that day. Bella who is with us now just gets so excited when she gets to go. You can tell she had fun when we pick her up. When she first started she never had interactions with other dogs and was scared. Now she can't wait to get inside. Made a huge change in her. Highly recommend!

Brandi Sidebottom, a trainer at the Clarkson/Wilson location, was our trainer for our lab puppy Mikey and did an excellent job. He has all of the required basics now to be a good canine citizen. We have been very happy with this facility and Mikey can't wait to come there again to see all his friends! Carl E. Chesterfield, MO.

This place is only out for money. They do not care about their employees or costumers. I was attacked by a dog, which showed signs of aggression since the first day that dog came to camp, while working. I was left downstairs with this dog and 30 other dogs by myself and got bit several times on multiple parts of my body before I was finally able to go upstairs where six employees were to get help.
After finally returning to work three days later the dog that attacked me was there for training. I was told to fill out a report card for that dog even though it was not in camp that day. When I asked what to put on the report card I was told to "Say the dog was good and played well with all the other dogs" which is a flat out lie. I would not doubt it if they never informed the owner of this dog that it attacked me.
If this happen on the street I could have called animal control and had that dog put on restraint or put under. This is not a safe place to work at all. They also clearly lie to their customers just to get money and pay their employees bare minimum wage. To not work here or take your dogs here.

From the moment I entered the parking lot until I picked up Milli I was impressed! Such a nice facility and pleasant atmosphere. Staff is extremely professional and friendly, which eased all of my concerns. Photos and updates were a added bonus!. Thank you for everything and me and Milli will see you again very soon!

My dog Oscar loves the training that he is receiving at Kennelwood. Everyone is very friendly. Communication for setting up personalized training and his progress is great. Brandi has been Oscar's trainer almost every time and she is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to train or groom their pets. Those are the 2 services I have used this far and are very happy.

We were excited about the possibility of training at Kennelwood for our 6 month old Hazel as we have past experience boarding our cat here and would want to board Hazel here in the future. Hazel is your typical 6 month old puppy. Shes an Australian Cattle Dog and Pit Bull Terrier Mix. She's got big floopy ears and always has to have a toy in her mouth. She's full of energy and needs a place to channel it; most importantly as new doggo parents, we wanted the guidance training could offer us. Today, we were finally able to connect with our kennelwood's training rep who advised us they have a company policy stating that pitbull mixes arent allowed in their training program.
They then asked us to submit a headshot of our Hazel because if she "did not look like a pitbull" they would do an on site evaluation of her for training. I understand Kennelwood has a right to run their business how they see fit, but I'm shocked to run into these issues in 2020. Working with dogs, you would expect these trainers to know that the stigma surrounding these "bully breeds" are not accurate at all. I know myself as well as others would like to see policies such as this reversed. In the meantime, we will be taking our business for both Hazel and our cat elsewhere.

We brought our energetic puppy Cooper here for 4-week puppy training. Brandi and Alyssa worked their training magic and Cooper is now a well-behaved and responsive puppy. The best part? Cooper was excited to go see all his friends (human and canine) there. We highly recommend the training at Kennelwood and will continue to bring Cooper for dog training with Brandi and Alyssa.

DO NOT TAKE DOG HERE! they do not allow pit bulls! well only if they look like pit bulls, but if it doesnt look too pitty they can say it's another breed and maybe get away with it. Crazy that in 2019 places can still discriminate a dog based on the breed or a picture, not the dog itself. Fact; according to the American temperament test society pit bulls scored within the same ranks as golden retrievers. If I could give zero stars I would

VERY SAD that a facility who claims to love animals would be prejudice towards any breed of dog. I called to inquire about their board and train program for my furbaby I rescued in February. He's cuddly and loving and has displayed no aggression. He just needs some basic training and focus. But the second i mentioned he's a Pit/Boxer mix they said they do not offer ANY of their services for Pit mixes. Again, sad that they refuse to help because of a breed. I will never recommend them to anyone ever!

I will never bring our dog here again. They are too unorganized and irresponsible to take care of the amount of dogs that are boarded there. We've boarded our dog here a few times and each time we pick her up she is frantic to get the heck out of there. At first we didn't think anything of it but then we boarded her elsewhere a few times and picked her up and she was calm but happy to see us.
We should have taken that as a sign. 1. Each time we boarded here her, we brought her bed and asked if it could be in her room because she has a bad hip. They said yes. Then when we picked up, they couldn't find the bed for 10-15 minutes. Clearly it wasn't in her room so who knows what she was sleeping on. 2. We had a billing issue and after we finally got a hold of the manager, she was extremely rude. 3.
The last time we boarded her at Kennelwood we opted for the Deluxe Suite. When we came to pick her up we were appalled to see her with a bloody nose and bloodshot eyes frantic again to get out. She had no food or water or even bedding in her suite. Just our beloved dog locked in a box with nothing to even lay on. Oh and the "satellite TVs" are about 4x4 TVs on the ceiling not in any view for any of the dogs.
It was really sad seeing this. This location is convenient because it is close to the airport but they bite off more than they can chew and neglect boarded dogs. If you love your pup, find some place else.

I have struggled for days on how to rate Kennelwood Pet Resort. I have used them a few times before without any issue, but this time I have to say something. We boarded our furbaby Daisy for a little over two weeks. We went on a cruise and they don't allow dogs. My bill was over $800.00 with all the amenities that I added for her including a nail trim.
When we picked her up, we were told that somehow she had hurt her back leg and was not walking on it. Five days later and a vet bill, she is still not walking on it. The vet thinks it was twisted some how. I think it might have been done when she got her nails trimmed. She might have jerked it and since they were holding it, it was twisted. Of course they tell me that they don't know how it happened and it was before they trimmed her nails. I paid $800.00 for you to take care of my baby and you failed. Would I come back here? Absolutely not. I'm hoping that at some point Daisy will get better.

Since my dog is a pit mix kennelwood will not allow him to do training for "safety reasons". My dog has never ever been aggressive even after being bitten by another dog at the dog park. They discriminate against breeds without ever meeting them and this is not what true animal lovers should do! They dont discriminate against the top aggressive breeds though just pit mixes.

Was looking for training.puppy class for socialization etc. Found out that they don't accept Pit bulls, Am-staff's etc, or any dog they think "might look like they are a mix". I have a Mastiff puppy, so no worries, but I will not use them now, not for training, boarding or daycare because they choose perpetuate the lie that all dogs of certain breeds are dangerous.
Either their trainers don't know what they are doing or they are just too lazy to evaluate dogs on an individual basis. 08/12/17 So Kennelwood replied to my review. essentially saying that their policy is "for there safety of their staff. doesn't mean their trainers lack expertise etc". Still. how can you discriminate against any one breed of dog?
I mean. you should ban cocker spaniels since statistically they cause the most dog bites every year. Again, it is ridiculous that "so called" experts continue to perpetuate the myth that all dogs of certain breed are bad.

I can't understand the poor reviews for this place. For one, the staff has always been incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. Our puppy went for day camp and training every day for a month, and we never had a single, negative experience. His trainer, Adam, was equally incredible. I cannot recommend Adam more to anyone looking for training in general, but particularly those with stubborn or dominant/aggressive dogs. Adam worked wonders with our incredibly headstrong puppy and helped us get him ready to introduce a new baby into the family. I highly recommend Kennelwood.

I take that back. First time was a charm; second time.we will not be back. When I went to go pick our GS up, the lady at the front told me he had been "extremely difficult" and that I'd have to go back to the grooming area with her to pick him up. I walked back to the grooming area to find our giant dog stuffed into a cage not big enough for him, panting like crazy. Needless to say, he was happy to see me. I'll never be sure exactly what happened, but I have a hard time believing it was the error of our mild mannered Giant.
Even if he had been difficult, I'm fairly certain it's their job to know how to handle difficult dogs of all kinds, who are no doubt scared to be away from home with all the buzzing and cutting. Regardless of what transpired, for a week or so after the experience, every time I raised my hand to love on our Giant's head or ears, he'd duck and cower. Hmm.
