People have such a pure relationship with their pets; they give us such unconditional love and are always there for us in our time of need. Why Dr. Alpert is a veterinarian is so that she can work with people to strengthen and maintain that relationship, from when they are puppies and kittens, to giving them a greater quality of life as they age, through to the end by helping them ease their passing. People connect with each other through their animals, and being a veterinarian allows her to help people by helping them with their pets.

I took my Silver German Shepherd in there to get his ears checked. The vet demeanor was I can just say horrible. Her personable skills sucked. My dog was more aggressive when I left there then he was when I went there. I was charge more than what I was told the office visit was going to be. When I went into the room after they had cleaned his ears out he went to come to me and she jerked on that at least they had around his neck and holding back in an ignorant voice told him to stop.
He's been shaking his head ever since I've left there you can't even touch his ear without him yelping. I would not recommend this veterinary clinic to anybody ever. The staff was very nice but the vet herself very very very dissatisfied and dissatisfied!'

Had to do the hardest thing I have ever done and put my wonderful furbaby down, They were very compassionate. They moved me to a private room immediately so I didnt spend any time in the waiting room sobbing and worring about bothering others while trying (and failing) to control my emotions. They gave me plenty of time to hold him and say goodbye, kept reassuring me im doing the right thing, just overall made a horrible situation a little bit better. I am very grateful for how compassionate and professional they were. I'd double the stars if I could.

They were amazing and I appreciate what they did for our daughter when it came to her cat, and our daughter can't wait to get his cats ashes back as she misses her fur baby. I wish that they would get my daughter's cat Processed so we can get her back for our daughter's sake. My daughter's cats urne is wrong it is to be a wooden box that says here lies our beloved Peanut and she got what feels to be a paper one I am not ok with it at all I am very disappointed .

My little man Gus got very I'll this week so I called to see if they thought I needed to get him in to be seen. He was immediately admitted as an emergency patient even though they were full and had no open appointments available. They assessed him right away and found that his liver was was in really bad shape. He stayed there for three days as he needed non stop care and monitoring.
They kept me in the loop by calling me twice a day with updates on his progress and were so kind and thorough with information. I am so thankful for their compassion, dedication, and professionalism. They know their stuff and keep up on new advances in veterinary medicine. He received the best care possible and I can't recommend them highly enough.
He is home now and doing much better, but not out of the woods. I am comforted by knowing they are just a phone call away if I have any questions and they are always happy to answer them. If you are looking for comprehensive, compassionate, and quality care this is the place to go.

My Shih Tzu Hoss was feeling so bad Sunday night. I didn't think he would make it. I call Monday morning they said bring him right over. I did told them what was wrong and left him in their capable hands. Within the hour I received a call to pick him up. He has Pneumonia. The doctor took and x-ray, drew labs, and gave him a complete physical exam.
She gave him Lasixj, cause his lungs are filled with fluid, antibiotics, and med for his fever. My wife was concerned he might be contagious and called that night because we have other dogs. The doctor called back quickly and answered all her questions and put her mind at ease. Hoss is still ill but it has only been 3 days. He has improved so much we are very grateful for Community Animal Hospital and mostly Dr Alpert.

I am honestly so disappointed with Community Animal Hospital. Everyone told me this was the best vet in town. I took my lab there once or twice when I first got him, and decided to take him back since I was on the fence with other vets in town. The best part about our visit was the nurses, they were all so kind and nice to my old boy. But once the actual doctor came in (Julia Alpert), she had very little patience and was not thrilled with having to deal with this and him.
I told her that both of his ears have been bothering him, but more so the right ear. She responded with "yeah, I'd say more so the right ear." It was a very inappropriate and condescending response. Halfway through the visit, after initial examination, they took him into another room for what reason I honestly don't know. He was scared. He resisted.
Both her and the student lost patience with him and dragged him out of the room and shut the door. At other vets in town, they usually do whatever "procedure" they need to do on him right in front of me. Which today, was cleaning out his ear and clipping his nails. When Hawthorne Animal Hospital does the routine ear washing and nail clipping, they ALWAYS do it with me in the room because they know that he is more comfortable that way.
Not only that, but they also educate me on what they are doing and talk me through it. It helps that my pup can see that I'm there and that everything is okay. I thought I made it very clear to the doctor, the student, the nurse, and even reception that my dog has anxiety. They should have know better than to drag and choke him away from me when he was resisting them.
It was very traumatizing for both of us and I will not be bringing him back to see that provider. Please educate your employees to have better patience with older dogs. I do want to reiterate that the nursing staff was wonderful.
