A Better Canine School For Dogs

Still in training but have already seen such a drastic improvement with both dogs!

This place attempted a bait and switch on me. I called this place about my pit bull and we talked in detail on the phone about his pricing and program. He indicated his price was just under $300 for training services for my dog. Based on the conversation I was interested so I scheduled the free consultation. When we expressed interest in enrolling after the consultation, he jacked the price up $200 from his original price to $519, and then said he'd "give us a discount" and set the price at $419. That's the only discount I've ever been offered that was substantially HIGHER than the original price of $300.

I felt I could no longer trust the business relationship if right away he was trying to bait and switch. I felt this was a low integrity move. I left the consultation without enrolling. I decided to call him back to express my concerns and he basically just blew me off saying "pit bulls cost more" but he knew her breed on our first telephone conversation. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and was simply making an excuse.

My Latte became a calm dog, and our walks became enjoyable by using David's proven techniques. It is very fun learning from Mr. Ruiz, who is such a nice person and a true dog expert.

Dave Ruiz is the best thing that happened to our dog and us. He is an old-school trainer with lots of discipline for the dogs and their owners, but he also displays infinite love for dogs and their people. I would recommend him and his methods for everyone who is looking to have a well behaved and confident canine companion.

David Ruiz is a dog whisperer. He has trained all of my four dogs, 2 Golden Retrievers, a Black Lab. Mix, and my Miniature Schnauzer. If you're looking for an excellent dog trainer, David Ruiz is the person. He is equally as good if not better than Cesar Milan.

We were so glad to find David for training our two dogs. After we moved, it seemed like our dogs had slipped into some very bad habits, and honestly some were habits that we had never bothered to change because we didn't know how. One of the very best dog trainers around. I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else. My mom had David (the owner) out to her house for training and he was great. The dogs he has trained are so well behaved. You could put a steak dinner down on the floor by your dog and he/she would look at it then look away.never eating it. Well unless you told the dog to.

David (the owner/trainer) is great! Very professional, knowledgeable and always on time! He has wonderful insight into the dog's behavior and thinking! He's not into "clicker" training which I hate. He teaches me how to communicate and train the dog with simple & direct commands. I have a 9 month old Belgium Malinois, she is a beautiful dog but a bit on the independent side and slightly stubborn LOL.

She is becoming and outstanding companion! A few simple corrections and obedience training techniques and she has completely turned around! She is a pleasure! We have enrolled our German Shepherds, Daisy and Bear, in training classes before -- with little lasting results. Our vet suggested that we see David at ABC School for Dogs. It was amazing how the dogs responded to the firm, commanding approach David taught us. There is no cajoling the dogs with treats -- hoping they will behave. There is taking your position as leader -- and the dogs falling in line.

Not only did we learn the basics of heel, sit and stay -- but also learned how to better control the dogs in a confrontational situation, behavior correction for excessive baking, chewing and digging and more! We highly recommend David and his training methods.
