As owners and breeders of Afghan Hounds and Whippets for over 40 years, we have produced over 375 AKC Show Champions. Our own pet needs led us on a quest to develop superior pet products (i.e., shampoos, conditioners, pet food supplements, and pet bed lounges).We began offering our SummerWinds products for sale in 1981, and have since remained in high demand for the last 39 years. SummerWinds is a family-owned business for over 39 years and has taken great pride in our many loyal customers, who have helped us achieve success. We attribute a great part of our longevity to the high quality standards of our product line. Our ingredients are the finest available in all of our formulas, and it is fair to say that the SummerWinds product line has definitely stood the test of time.
He was one of our biggest assets. Rosemary, Bruce's partner and wife, is now CEO. In 1968, Rosemary bought her first Afghan Hound. Her love for the dogs, along with her love for hair, and with her background as a cosmetologist and owning her own salons, in addition to having studied and worked with Vidal Sasson, she created a foundation for the development of product at SummerWinds.

I've been using Summerwinds Take-A-Hike flea & tick shampoo as well as their Shine Onnn shampoo on our show poodles for decades. The Shine Onnn is a reasonably priced shampoo that does a great job and rinses out easily. The Take-A-Hike shampoo not only kills fleas and ticks but also dissolves the ear wax build-up we see in some dogs. One vet even commented, "These are the cleanest ears I've ever seen." I highly recommend those two products as well as the excellent service.
