Does your pet have some bad habits, like jumping on guests, scratching up furniture, or peeing in the house? Note that for all behaviors in question, it's better to address them sooner rather than later - because once the behavior becomes a learned habit, it's harder to change. I have been going to CountryChase recently due to poor experiences with my pets at Westchase Veterinary and Emergency Center. My cat had a senior profile draw on Friday, March 25. I was told results came back inconclusive and I had to bring him back AND pay for another blood draw with pathology taken on April 1. I received another call saying the results came back inconclusive, and was asked to bring him back on Friday, April 15.
I have complied with everything they have asked me to do and have yet to receive a phone call from Dr. Whitten with results. I have called 3x this week, each day a front desk staff member confirming the dr. would call me back the day I called.no calls or missed calls from CountryChase. If this continues, I will have to keep searching for a more responsible Veterinary.

Reliably timely and friendly service. I am about to start taking my cats there after taking my parent's dog there for them a few times for both routine healthcare and grooming in the last few months. In speaking with others while checking in/out, all expressed much appreciation for the service they received irrespective of the tech or vet who cared for their dog or cat.

We've had nothing but fantastic experiences with CountryChase Veterinary. We just moved from out of state, and it took a couple of tries to find a vet that is a perfect fit. CountryChase has exceeded our expectations every time. They are warm, caring, understanding and they always follow up to see how the fur babies are doing. If they do not have a specialist or resources (ie. MRI, Internist, etc.), they make great recommendations and check in often.

Why 5 stars? Because they were an amazing help for my dog's allergies. --- --- --- After moving out of state, I looked up CountryChase Vet on Yelp to grab their phone number so that I could request them to send me my dog's record for our new vet and I was shocked to see that I never actually wrote my review! In 2020, we brought our Golden Retriever here whose allergies were getting worse and worse over time.
When he was younger, he was only have a couple of allergy outbreaks a year. That eventually turned into about one outbreak each quarter. And then an outbreak every month or two. He was six years old when we brought him to CountryChase and we were told that this is pretty typical - they tend to get worse with age. We had our dog allergy tested and then we started immuno therapy. It's one spray under his tongue every morning with a random concoction of all the things he's allergic to.
Fast forward about 18 months later and things are infinitely better. He had his first outbreak about a year after immuno therapy started, which I was told means that he's doing awesome by comparison to most dogs. There's really no way to completely make sensitive skin issues completely disappear, but to have one small outbreak per year feels like a total victory for us compared to where he was at before.
My only gripe with CountryChase vet is that the wait times here were really quite a bit beyond what I'd consider reasonable. During the earlier stages of the pandemic, customers were asked to wait in their car during visits. I pulled up in the parking lot, called the vet to say I arrived and waited in my car for one hour before they came to get my dog.
Other visits were 30+ minutes, which was extremely frustrating. I only went a handful of times because this was not our regular vet, but was never seen quickly after arriving. Ultimately, the helped up tremendously with our dog's allergies, but I hope they have gotten a bit more organized with the scheduling at this point.

Extremely professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and willing to see my dog on very short notice. We had a very bad experience the prior day at an urgent care center and the staff with Country Chase Dermatology could not have been more understanding! I look forward to taking my dog there for all future issues.

I have been taking my pup there for almost 9 months now and always had a great experience. Keeping to COVID protocol, the doctor stood on the porch to introduce himself during the first appointment and he always takes time to explain and answer questions. All the staff and assistants have always been very helpful and friendly. A friend I recommended liked the experience and switched vets. Thank you and well done to the whole Countrychase team!

All of the staff are friendly. The front desk is run better than any veterinary office I have been to. The vets and techs are great. They don't just try to sell you a lot of services and tests which aren't necessarily needed. They are all obviously pet lovers which remarkably, doesn't seem to be the case at every veterinary office. I like everything about the place.

Horrible how they treat you when most vulnerable. I recently moved here from another state and did not have a regular vet yet. Unfortunately my dog needed to be put down. He was old and had cancer that was spreading, arthritis and was blind. They quoted me a price then the day of the service, came in as I was crying and told me it would be $50 more!
Their reason was "we needed more medication". Well I don't see how that's possible given my dog actually weighed LESS than when I was quoted. They knew I had no choice but to pay it, what was I going to do pick up my dog who was in pain and suffering and leave as i am balling my eyes out? TERRIBLE, UNKIND and UNCOMPASSIONATE. I will NEVER go back and urge others to go elsewhere!

It was supposed to get an anti-inflammatory, however they gave me a painkiller to give to my dog. When I took that medication at the vet, didn't check if that medication was the one that I was supposed to get. So, I asked if could return the medication, they said once the medication is out of the built they can't get back. Therefore I had to pay for painkiller and anti-inflammatory. They are used to give more amount medication than is needed.

We have been using Country Chase ( CCV) since 2011- they are always professional, knowledgeable and caring- every vet I have meet there since 2011 has been very willing to give me information, care guided help (for at home) and their honest opinion when asked for. I also love the fact that the vet themselves call for follow-up phone call to check and see how we are doing and if we have any questions or concerns--everyone from check-in to leaving is always so helpful and friendly--thank you!

Such a great place. We drive about 30 minutes from Seminole Heights to get here but it's really worth it. We rescued a large dog with heartworms and he has gone through his entire treatment at Country Chase. Every time we call with a question and/or complication Dr. Rubenstein (our vet) gets back to us immediately. Literally every member of the staff is familiar with our dog and they are all extremely kind and professional.
The services are a little on the expensive side but they price match on meds which is awesome. We've never been pushed to do anything expensive that wasn't necessary either. Honestly I don't know any vet in the area who is better. Really impressed with them.

We've been taking our French Bulldog here since he was a puppy. They have been very accommodating, always trying to get us in on tight schedules. They have been very caring, always treating our dog like he matters. They have been patient as we went through rounds of antibiotics to try and rid him of an infection. They have been respectful of our time by not keeping us waiting much. We'll continue to bring our dog here because we trust them.

When we got our puppy (almost 5 years ago!) we tried out a vet in Carrollwood that we did not like. When we mentioned we'd like to pursue more holistic options concerning our newest addition, they became very judgmental. I don't know why businesses do that, it's not like there is only one vet in Tampa. Anyway, we were recommended Country Chase and while we HATE going all the way out to Westchase for care, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
They mail us his medicine when we can't drive the 45 minutes out there and let us know ways to save money on his care. They are "dog people" who honestly seem to care about our pup. Every time we visit, they cut his nails if needed and last time even cut off some mats on his paws they worried would cause an infection. Things like that remind me why I drive across town for my dog.

FANTASTIC! There are not words to describe how fantastic CountryChase Veterinary is! Dr. Trakas took care of our first basset, Gus, from the time he was 8 weeks old until he passed when he was 10. The competence, care, compassion and service are all amazing. The entire staff participated in Gus's life and care. We added acupuncture to Gus's health regimen and that proved to be an incredibly powerful form of care.
We used acupuncture, in conjunction with his traditional care, for his overall health, sensitivity to thunder and in the end, to support his cancer treatments. Having the holistic care along with traditional care in the same practice is wonderful. Dr. Trakas and the entire team: vets, techs and staff are all like family to us. We recommend Country Chase to everyone. Dr. Trakas and the team are now taking care of our new basset puppy, Otis, and we know that we will have a long, loving journey with them again. He's going through all of us puppy appointments and has already been evaluated through acupuncture and we have a protocol in place for him. What a comfort to know that our animals are in such capable and caring hands.

Country Chase Vet is outstanding! We are blessed to have had care from them over the past three years in our dog's "twilight years." I first came upon them as I was looking for complementary care for my dog's chronic health conditions, and liked that acupuncture and herbal/nutritional therapies were offered. We first worked with the clinic's founder, Dr. Jane Boston.
I was very humbled by the amount of time she would spend with my dog and I at each appointment -- sometimes, upwards of two hours in consultation and acupuncture. It was very apparent that her work and her clinic are a labor of love for her. We eventually became "exclusive" clients of the practice and saw most of the vets over the past few years. Our primary vet was Dr. Terri Readdy -- she is the kind of vet who sits on the floor to gently examine your pet, and always respects the owner's intuition and instincts.
We also were blessed to receive care from Dr. Nicole Trakas, who provided compassion and love, taking her time and treating us as if we were her only patient. Dr. Brian Whitten was a respectful and gracious man, who helped us on an emergency basis, and we were grateful to know him. The staff is outstanding -- most notably Susan (acupuncture tech -- so awesome!) Jenny (sweetheart), Rachel (so caring), Genobie (passionate about animals) and Tracey & Deb in the front office. They were always willing to help on a moment's notice. We are so thankful to Country Chase for the outstanding care they gave us!

I began bringing my now 14-y/o Cocker Spaniel, Lexxi, to Dr. Boston when she was about 11 y/o. We had been seeing another local vet since she was 6 weeks old, but decided it was necessary to seek a second opinion when she began having several seizures every day, and our original vet's only treatment alternative was phenobarbital for the remainder of her life.
I credit Dr. Boston with saving Lexxi's life! She immediately determined the root causes of her seizures and treated those directly, rather than putting a Band-Aid, such as phenobarb, on the symptoms. My husband and I have been very open to various treatments, to include acupuncture and herbal formulas, which have proven to be invaluable in Lexxi's healing.
We are almost 3 years SEIZURE FREE, which is HUGE for us! We have seen how effective Eastern medicine / treatments can be, and we are religious in ensuring that Lexxi gets her herbal formulas every day exactly as prescribed. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that if we hadn't sought out Dr. Boston for a second opinion and ultimately made the switch to move Lexxi under her care, that there is no way she'd still be filling our lives with joy and her silly, sweet disposition! Thank you, Dr. Boston, for giving us many more years with our Baby Girl than we ever could have hoped for! We cherish each and every day we get to spend with her.

I have taken my pets to Country Chase for about 4 years now and I feel they are the BEST out there. I have been to other clinics that were no where near as attentive as they are at Country Chase. I think by this point I have seen all of the Doctors there and I think they are all great! In addition to the Doctors, I feel the staff makes you feel like family.
They know you by name and they remember little things that make you feel special, like they remember that I have kids and they always ask how they are doing in school and in their other activities. I also have been to plenty of other clinics in my life and none of them have done so much to educate me in the care of my animals. I have learned so much about the health care of my animals that I am a better pet owner because of it!
When they say "you get a complete Head to Tail exam" that is exactly what they give you! If you want to be an active participate in the Heath care of your pets and receive the best veterinary care possible then this is the place to go!

For years I took my dog to Dr. Boston at Country Chase Veterinary. I credit her with saving my baby by properly diagnosing and escalating a serious condition. She was very compassionate, caring, and friendly with me and my dog. She took care of us for 7 years, and I give her 10 stars. Unfortunately Dr. Boston started focusing on other types of medicine, and was unavailable to see my dog anymore.
I visited three other doctors, and I just didn't take to any of them. One prescribed an ear infection medicine and neglected to tell us one of the possible side effects was hearing loss. Imagine my shock when I got home one day and my dog was just laying there. He didn't respond to the door chime, he didn't respond to my call, nothing.
I thought he was dead! When I got close to see if he was cold or warm he slowly opened his eyes. He was asleep! And completely deaf! I called Country Chase and demanded to see Dr. Boston. I was told she was unavailable. So, I decided to make myself unavailable and took my dog to see Dr. Hamilton at Westchase Veterinary. Have been going there ever since.
