These two are total amateurs. Not sure where they were trained or why they think they should be operating a business. I wasn't impressed with their skills with either. They pay little attention to the dogs and handle them like people who don't know too much about animals. If you have easy happy go lucky dogs, maybe they'll be ok there. This is not a good place for sensitive dogs.

Our dog was not aggressive, he was previously abused and if he felt threatened would give a low growl as a warning. We had recently adopted him and were working on rehabilating him. We are proud to report that after 18 mos of hard work and dedication he is a happy, healthy, friendly dog, non growling dog thanks to the help of a very skilled dog trainer from Aptos!

Rob and Lee were very nice and courteous which was cool. The doggie camp itself on the other hand wasn't too nice at all. I picked up my dog and she was limping and had cuts and was bleeding from the ear which Rob and Lee said was from "play fighting". They also said they would only have a maximum of 3 dogs at a time so they could give each dog a lot of attention, but when I picked up my dog, I counted 6 total.
I also paid extra per day for the training and I called them while my dog was there to ask what they were training her on. They said they were training her to heel, training her to not bother you while you eat, and already trained her to not jump on people. The first thing my dog did when i came to pick her up was jump on me like crazy. Lee and Robin didn't know what to say.
I would say this place is okay maybe for a few days of boarding as long as your dog can defend his or herself from other dog attacks. But definitely not good for training. Everything they said they trained her to do she didn't do when I got her back. I would never give this place my business again and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Good things: Rob and Lee were nice and courteous.
Bad things: My dog came home injured and bleeding and now has some small scars. Paid extra for the training and she was not further trained than when before I took her there.

I hate leaving my dog with conventional boarding places - all they do is suck your money while leaving your dog in a crate/cage. I am so happy I found doggie camp where Dubi is free to roam and gets human and dog interaction all day long outside. They play ball outside or just roam the big yard and play with other dogs. at the end of the day they wind down and sleep inside with the people and NOT in cages. Lee and Robin are great and they love each and every dog. I can see that Dubi loves them by the way he greets them and the way he says goodbye after a stay. As long as we live in this area Dubi will only be boarding at doggie camp.

I boarded my dog with Doggie Camp twice. Once for two weeks in 2009 and once for one week in April 2010. The first time I visited they allowed me into the front threshold and then onto the back deck. At the time, they did have a yard that appeared to be fun for dogs. They promise to give you a DVD with footage of the visit on each visit. After that first visit, we didn't get one, despite a phone call reminding them.
The second time I boarded my dog, they wouldn't let me in past the front door. They seemed weird and I idly wondered what they were hiding. I wished I had time to find another boarding facility, but I was leaving the next day and didn't have time. (After the second visit, we did get a DVD. And I can positively confirm that my dog had an excellent time for at least 6 minutes during the week-long visit!) When I picked my dog up, I was told to make the check out to Lee, not the business.
I balked but Lee insisted. Needless to say, I did as he asked; they had my dog. I was uncomfortable about doing this as it triggered the "what are they hiding" feeling again. But afterwards I sent an email questioning them about if they had insurance. Robin got insulted. Here are her exact words from an email: "I am not sure why you are asking or what you are accusing us of. I do believe that you should find alternative dog care." I did and recommend others do the same.

We've used doggie camp 4 times already in the last 6 months, ranging from just a weekend to a 3 week stay. though the drive into the santa cruz mountains is a bit tedious at times, we love this place and our little one loves it as well. its very hard to find a trusting place to leave your baby whilst you are away enjoying yourself. you wanna make sure that the dog is having a great time as well and doesn't have to spend its time in a small kennel. doggie camp is the perfect place, the dogs get plenty of exercise and what we love most is the caring, family atmosphere that robin and lee provide. its truly a home away from home!

We left our Weimaraner there for 3 weeks while we were out of country visiting family. He came home happy, healthy and with a dvd of his fun! He has a few scratches but I'm sure its because he was having too much fun with the other dogs and he is still a puppy at 11 months. But he didn't come home stinking of disinfectant from other kennels and he wasn't stuck in a kennel. WE were happy that he was at a home where he was supervised and it was mentally healthier for him than any other place I could find.

We love the friendly and caring atmosphere that Robin and Lee provide for our two precious Pugs, Jimi and Kimi. What would I do with out Lee and cute little Zeppo? We have used Doggie Camp twice in the last year (first time was for one week and then the second time was for 2.5 weeks) and each time our dogs came home happy, healthy and energized. It was as if they had their own vacation! Kimi and Jimi love going there and "runnin' with the big dogs" Kudos to Lee and Robin for providing a top rate and clean place for our Pugs to play.
We also appreciate the oh-so-funny dvd that they made of our dogs running around, back and forth, to and fro with the other dogs! Hilarious! (Thanks Lee you have provided us with huge laughs) I would highly recommend Doggie Camp!

I've never been to Doggiecamp, and probably never will. This is why. A friend of mine that lives out of the area asked me to visit Doggiecamp and check it out for her. I emailed Doggiecamp requesting an appointment to check out their facilities. I received a reply the next day from Robin saying they were "a bit busy this week for a visit". She did not even suggest an appointment the following week, only asked when my friend wanted to leave her dogs.
I replied saying I wasn't sure of the dates but asked again for an appointment to visit, this time it took a week and a half for a reply in which Robin said they were too busy all month and I should try back the following month. Again, she did not even suggest an appointment date - only told me to "check back". If the owners and operators of Doggiecamp can't spare 5 or 10 minutes to give a walk-through for a potential new client, how much attention are they giving the animals in their care?!

My dog came home from here with a greater than 2 CM hole in his side where all of the fur and skin were gone, the muscle was exposed. They did not have a veterinarian look at this wound. I would NEVER go back. I would NEVER recommend this place. This happened in November 2008. It is now October 2009 and my dog never grew hair back in that spot.
