My dog, a one year old Pitbull rescue, has been to four different boarding services. I've never felt like I could drop him off somewhere and he be really cared for. After his first interview day we got his report card back and it seemed like he was enjoying himself. I know he was enjoying himself! The live cameras are amazing! I watched my dog run and play with other dogs for three hours just laughing and chatting with my fiancee.
I could see how clean the play area was, the temperament of the other dogs, and him wagging his tail the entire time! I was told when I dropped him off that he was acting nervous so they separated him so he could decompress and then they let him back with the other dogs and he was enjoying himself. For the staff to care enough to recognize the anxiety in my dog the first time they've met him and make him comfortable was just heartwarming.
I have two small trips planned for later this year and originally I had a reservation at another kennel club. After spending the day seeing how much he enjoyed himself here I canceled those reservations and he will be staying here from now on. We love Canine to Five!

Our dog Opie had such a good time here for his first day! We sent him for puppy preschool as an added way to be socializing him (he's 4 months old) and not only did this accomplish that, but they wore him OUT! The second we got him he took himself right to bed you can tell he had such a good time. The live cameras are nice too so you can keep an eye on them here and there if you want.
We will definitely be sending him at least once a week. Everyone here seems so nice and so genuinely happy to be there and excited to hang with the dogs all day. You feel confident leaving your dog with them, for sure. 10/10 recommend!

This location is fantastic. Everyone is so nice, very knowledgeable and I know when I drop my fur child off he'll be safe and happy having a blast with the other dogs. They offer so many different services but we definitely utilize the daycare and soon- the boarding. Don't think, just bring your furry family member here and see for yourself!

I have a 7 month old very needy chocolate lab. Has very bad separation anxiety from me because I work from home and she's never been left alone. We watched her throughout her first day and the staff made sure she wasn't alone. When she was keeping to herself from the other dogs, the staff would go pet her and give her the comfort she needed to come out of her shell and make a need doggy friend! Everyone was so nice and helpful! Would highly recommend to friends and family!

My senior was coming in for a trial visit before getting boarded and everything went so well! As soon as I stepped in the door, I was greeted with so many smiling faces who wanted to know more about my dog. They did such a great job with him and were so attentive. We even got a goodie bag before we left. All in all, I am feeling much better about boarding him in May knowing he is going to get great care at Canine to Five.

This place is amazing! My dog Cody had a blast on his first day of day care yesterday. Every staff member we met was so kind! I also got to watch him on the cameras while at work and saw as he made a best friend. After picking him up, he was so exhausted, slept a full night. We can't wait for his next daycare visit!

We lost our long time mobile pet groomer to retirement. We've been struggling to find a replacement. Lauren at Canine to Five in Detroit did an excellent job with our eight-year-old golden retriever, Bennie. I really felt like Lauren listened beforehand to my areas of concern and then attended to those areas exactly how I hoped. In addition, drop off and pick up was easy and Bennie was done before the promised time.

Canine to Five is AMAZING! I was very nervous about sending our dog to daycare, this is something that is new to us and I wasn't sure how our dog would react. Max gets so excited to see his friends (human and canine) when we pull into the parking lot. The staff is amazing and I've never felt more comfortable leaving our babies with them! If you're on the fence, there's no need to be! They are amazing!

I have a large 8 year old Great Pyrenees who has a lifelong fear of grooming. She was immediately at ease with Lauren, who explained what she would do in detail. My dog was so relaxed and well behaved with Lauren that the grooming finished early. The whole experience was better than anticipated, and she looked great!

I was very nervous about our dog's first day at daycare, but I was quickly put at ease. The drop-off process was seamless, and I loved being able to watch him make new friends through the Webcam service. He honestly didn't want to leave! He kept going back to the building instead of running for the car like he normally would. We quickly received a report card through email detailing his day, and I'm looking forward to booking a return trip!

Our dog started in the puppy program and just moved to the adult dogs. Canine to Five does a great job and I would highly recommend their puppy program for anyone who wants to socialize their dog or doesn't want them to be alone during the day. The web cams give us piece of mind but I know even if they were available that our dog would be taken care of. Thank you Canine to Five!

For those supporting the business with their money, a few things should be known. I love dogs. I spent years working with Greyhound rescues, helping place traumatized dogs into loving homes. I lasted 7 work-days at Canine to Five before quitting. To give you an understanding of the type of people hired, my supervisor had "PURE HATRED" tattooed across the backs of his legs. So, yeah, not the most mature or inviting type of person, to be certain.
I was threatened with termination should I disclose abuse from pet parents to any reporting authorities, after I had been told that one of the dogs in the "Private Play" program (behaviorally challenged dogs) was hit by its owner in the facility on multiple occasions, as an explanation as to why the dog had such high anxiety/agitation. I also witnessed multiple staff belittling/insulting dogs, calling them names, and using excessive force when redirecting them.
All in all, it is NOT a place you want to bring your animal, let alone work. Be advised: positions from this company pop up on Indeed very, VERY regularly, and for good reason: People don't want to be paid $10/hr to scrub waste after being promised a trainer/hands-on position. Also, ANY job asking you to work a 6 day, 50 hour week that involves a care-taking aspect clearly is not focusing on the well-being or safety of those in its care, dogs OR employees.
There are signs all over the building begging staff to work AT LEAST 50 hours a week and pushing the 6 day work week, with no compensation beyond a tiny bonus ($50). There is a massive emphasis on staff (who they cannot retain due to their practices) to work until utter exhaustion, introducing even further risks and danger to an already tense and anxiety-inducing environment.

Canine to Five did an exceptional job taking care of my dog. The staff was courteous, attentive to details regarding my dog's disposition, and was incredibly helpful. It was a great experience after some less than stellar experiences with other service providers and I won't take my dog anywhere else. Looking forward to my next experience.

Don't ever take your dog here. I dropped my dog Henrik off to get groomed at their Midtown Detroit location recently. The lady at the front desk told me the groomer was ready for him and she took Henrik from me in the lobby. My apartment is a couple of minutes away. As soon as I got home (not even 5-minutes after I dropped him), I got a call saying Henrik had broken his tooth and was bleeding and that they cannot groom him anymore.
I got back in my car to go get him. I walked in to find him soaking wet all over his body (they rinsed all the blood off him), and his mouth was gushing blood. They told me that Henrik bit the cage they had put him in because the groomer that took him (who they claimed was ready for him) put him in a cage to finish another dog's nails for "5-mins".
I did not drop my dog to get locked/boarded, I dropped him to get groomed, and they told me they were ready for him. I would have waited that "5-mins" in the lobby with him. They told me Henrik must have gotten nervous and bit the cage they put him in, resulting in him deeply fracturing his top right canine tooth. The photo the employee had texted me of the cage (attached) shows me exactly why Henrik would have been scared.
They put him in a small barred cage right next to 2 HUGE LOUD DRYING TUBES (to blow-dry the dogs). Clearly not the right cage to put the dogs in. I called my vet (VCA of Farmington Hills) and they told me to take Henrik to the emergency room immediately. I took him to BluePearl in Southfield and they told me there was nothing they could do and that he needed dental surgery, and that he was lucky he didn't break his jaw.
The owner of Canine to Five gave me a call per my request and she ended up sending me over a waiver I signed 3 years ago releasing them from any liability. Real sweet of her. I told her about Henrik needing surgery and how they should cover the costs of this since he was in their care when it happened and they were negligent. I asked her how that was ethical as they had been negligent to my dog and she told me Henrik did it to himself. "self-inflicted".
Not to mention the employee I spoke to prior said the drying tubes block the cage Henrik was in from the cameras so I'll never really know what happened. The owner said she has had her business for 15 years and was "confident" in how they handle the dogs and their facilities. clearly not. I found many other reviews on Google and Yelp of negligence and the owner not caring.
I told her that I hope they can make this right. She then gave me her attorney's information. Even sweeter of her. Henrik was crying and kept poking and biting his tongue for days and was gushing blood. I finally took him in for surgery the following Tuesday of the incident and they had to put a tube down his throat and give him anesthesia, and then they had to remove his whole canine tooth due to the fracture being so deep. It was about $1000. He is barely 4 years old and will live the rest of his life without his canine tooth. Avoid this place if you care about your dog. :)

As a dog trainer who does a lot of consulting for various daycares across the country, this is by far the best daycare I've ever been to. The owner cares so much about quality and safety and actually pays for regular, ongoing consulting with a certified behavior consultant to ensure that her staff are the most knowledgeable and skilled handlers in the industry.
The staff there is just a joy and they are always so warm, positive, and friendly. I really trust that every dog there is in the best of hands, something I don't say about many places. Would recommend to anyone.

My dog has been going to Canine to Five since he was a puppy in their puppy program. They are great with him and he loves everyone there! I always feel confident leaving him there for the day as I know he is being well cared for by the best. The staff is always ridiculously friendly and they are all amazing. I really can't say enough good things about them. I'd highly recommend anyone looking for doggy daycare to check them out, you will not be disappointed!

My dog (Olive) was dropped off on 05/16/21 and through out the week I had noticed on the cameras that she was not interacting with the other dogs and in her own area laying down (which I thought was slightly odd but I figured she might of been tired from playing) however, after I had picked her up In the morning on 05/23/21 I had noticed 10 mins of us being home that something was not okay with her.
She was extremely lethargic, drinking TWO bowls of water in one sitting (which is not normal), sneezing/coughing slightly, out of breath after doing nothing, and she was hesitant to eat her food and when she did it looked so painful for her to swallow it (My dog usually inhales her food the moment she sees it, so this was not normal to any extent).
The following morning she started having diarrhea. (This all happened within 15-20 hrs after she was picked up) I decided to call my vet and they had me bring her in right away. They then discover she also has a fever along with the other symptoms that I had mentioned. They are giving her an injection (as I write this) to help ease some of the pain she is in, as well as putting her on two different antibiotics for the next 10 days.
What is the point of working with animals if you don't intend on taking care of them in all aspects? My dog was in genuine pain and it was so obvious to me, other people, and her doctors, but not any of the staff that saw her within a week noticed? I paid extra for her to be visited by staff twice that week as well (cuddle time & treat time) and somehow, still, nobody noticed or said anything about her becoming ill. I trusted them to take care of my dog and not only did they fail me, they failed Olive and hurt her in the process.

Maisie LOVES going to Canine to Five. She goes twice a week and is always so excited to get right in the door and join her friends inside. As a dog dad, I have 100% confidence that she is in a safe and fun environment all day while I have work and other responsibilities to tend to. At pick-up, she is always happy and smiling, reassuring me she had a great day.
The entire staff is stunning and always has such a great attitude and is always excited to see my puppy, always giving positive comments about my pup which tells me they really care and pay attention to her as she has grown. They are very accommodating and very resourceful with their answers. I highly recommend taking any pup here, and will continue to bring Maisie!

4.5/5 Stars WE LOVEEEEEEE Canine to Five! My puppy has been going since she was 3 months old, and is now 6 1/2 months old. The puppy program has been amazing! I truly credit Canine to Five for her socialization success and her eagerness to meet new people and puppies. Every staff member is knowledgeable, warm, and happy to be there. If anything comes up with my girl during the day that I should know about, I will either get a call or a report at the end of the day based on urgency.
I trust them wholeheartedly with my dog and would recommend them to anyone! The only reason for the.5 star lost, is that prices are a bit high compared to other daycares in the area. However, I am happy to spend the money to know that we are receiving the quality care that my doggy deserves.

Canine to Five exceeded my expectations. We adopted an adorable lab/GSD mix almost three months ago. He's super sweet but, since getting fixed, he's been very apprehensive of strangers and sometimes other dogs. We previously brought him to another doggie daycare where he was in a kennel most of the day and was let out to play for maybe 1-2 hours each day.
We wanted to take him somewhere that would really observe him and work with him. Enter Canine to Five. They had us bring him in for a day to do a behavior assessment to see how he did with the pack. We received a detailed summary of his evaluation and how he did. This week I had to bring our sweet boy in early every morning and pick him up late each night--he was the first one in and last one out.
They are really tuned in to dogs' body language and let us know that our little Chief requires some time to decompress as he gets easily overwhelmed with new dogs and people. Almost each day, Ben would text me personally with how our guy did that day! I really can't believe the level of service and care they provide. By day 2, our pup was running around giving all the staff kisses! He's come such a long way in such little time thanks to the amazing staff here. I feel so comfortable bringing him there and know that he is in good hands, and they are paying close attention to each individual dog.

If you're looking for a place that will give your pup the love and attention needed, this is it! Nala is a Silver Labrador Retriever that came home to me in April (best decision I made during quarantine). However, due to lockdown and no socialization, I was worried she would have a hard time meeting new dogs & people. As soon as everything opened up, I made sure to sign her up for daycare.
The first day I picked Nala up from daycare, all my worries washed away. She was a rockstar! Nala was very active and social, as well as being cautious of other pup's spaces. My doggo was treated like the queen she is. On her second day, she led the way to the door. This was the next sign that I knew she loved coming to Canine to Five. I doubt this could have been possible if it weren't for the OUTSTANDING team working with these pups.
In summarization, Canine to Five is an amazing place to leave your dogs - without worry. The people here really care about your dog's wellbeing, and will do anything to provide the best experience for your pup AND you!

My Pittie has been going to canine to five for awhile and I have always been very happy with the customer service and the care of my dog She returned to doggie care the first week they opened from the pandemic and I scheduled her for a bath with all the works The groomers did an excellent job Her coat was so shiny and soft I wanted to carry her out the building so she wouldn't get dirty but unfortunately she weighs about 60 lbs all muscle

I absolutely love Canine to Five. As long as they continue to offer the level of services that they do now I find it highly unlikely I would ever go anywhere else. Ferndale offers fantastic day care options, with a staff that I know by name now, and I know they care about my dogs. Midtown has phenomenal grooming services and groomers available. I've never once been disappointed with the amazing work Lisa has done for my dogs over the years You really can't go wrong trusting your pet with these folks.

Our girl loves this place! She started as a pup to get our some winter energy and she's now 1! Daycare really helped her come out of her shell and become more competitive playing with a lot of pups. she was a little shy prior. I check in on her periodically while she is there with the cameras that stream to their website and she is always well cared for. She comes home happy and tired from all the play time!
