Scott takes pride in his role as the Mid-West Assistant Director and Emeritus Decoy with the Protection Sports Association. Scott has won multiple PSA titles with his own Dobermans, Caesar and Louie. Scott first became interested in Police K-9 training while proudly serving his country in the United States Army in the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82ndAirborne Division.
We offer puppy education, basic on-leash obedience training, off-leash obedience training, behavior modification for separation anxiety, aggression, barking, chewing, jumping, nipping, escaping, digging, destructive behavior and more. We offer other specialty dog training including personal protection dog training, service dog training, therapy dog training, and Police K-9 Training. If you don't see something that meets your needs please give us a call and we will develop a custom dog training program for you and your dog.
Instead of focusing on all the problems your dog has, think for a second about what it looks like to have fully trained dog. Try and picture your dog acting exactly as you expect. Is he holding a down stay while you have a party? Are you playing ball at the park with your dog off-leash? Are you simply on a walk with your dog under control?
Here at the Pet Athletic Club we expect our protection dogs to be friendly, affectionate, confident, and obedient. A well trained protection dog will protect you and your family either on command or in certain situations. Protection training is simply advanced obedience that teaches the dog to bark or bite on a command.

Scott and the team from PAC trained our first dog in 2017. We were so delighted with how things turned out with our first experience that when we found a stray dog in December 2021 and decided to add him to our family, we reached out to Scott and Ellery to make reservations for him to attend the Board and Train Program at PAC. He just graduated two weeks ago and we see the same fantastic transformation we saw with our first.
Both are pit bull mixes and found as strays and did not appear to have any training or structure prior to their time at PAC. Scott and his team taught both dogs commands that allow us to have a full life (being with us in public and under control) with our dogs and the long term support (weekly group sessions) required for you to add the skill and confidence needed to follow through on the excellent foundation and training from PAC. Take if from the owner of two, hard headed, full spirited terrier mixes. I don't think you will be disappointed with your decision to have your dog trained at PAC.

Very disappointed with PAC. My husband and I started sending our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to boarding and daycare back in February and initially loved it there. We were told she needed an evaluation to play with other dogs, which is normal and she passed. We left her there nearly every month while we were away and liked that we could see her on the daycare cameras.
We had planned to start her with training there (as I'm pregnant and we'd like easier walks with her before little one arrives) until what happened last week. About a month ago, we booked our dog for boarding and daycare for the week of dec 20. We booked online because we were unable to reach anyone by phone. When I went to drop her off, the girl who checked her in asked me "are you feeding her the same amount as usual?" I said yes and went on my way. Days later, while on vacation, my husband and I were discussing how neither of us had seen her on the daycare cameras and became concerned.
We tried calling multiple, multiple times- like throughout the day every half hour- to no avail. We texted the number we've texted with in the past, and we left a voicemail. It took my mother calling 3 times to get a response from Scott, who told her the reason we hadn't seen our dog in daycare was because she wasn't there! She was being kenneled.
When we finally got ahold of him, he told us that she needed another evaluation because she hadn't been there in over a month and he wasn't sure when he would be able to do that because they were very busy. I am understanding of an evaluation, but we booked a month in advance. I work from home and could have, at any time, run over to have my dog evaluated to avoid this situation.
Instead I was led to believe that she would be in daycare as usual and not even notified that anything otherwise was going on. I should also mention that she has gone more than a month without being there and never had another evaluation that we were made aware of. All this to say that my pup will not be back to PAC. This easily could've been avoided with upfront communication. It shouldn't take hours of trying to make contact with a company who is watching your pet to figure out what the heck is going on and I urge others to heed this warning.

I have been using PAC's daycare service for my dog, Eddie, for a few weeks now. I reached out to Ellery at PAC with tons of questions and she had patience and answers for every question I had. Eddie went to his evaluation, which took several days to ensure a good fit, and I appreciated the personal feedback given at every pickup. Ellery, Scott, and the PAC team are extremely attentive and care more about animal safety and health than any other provider in the area.
I love the ease of drop-off and pick-up, the option to pop onto the Webcams and see what Eddie is up to, and being able to ask Ellery and Scott questions about his behavior. Most importantly, the daycare at PAC is no-nonsense. I know that PAC staff is correcting nuisance behavior and that Eddie is in a safe place learning boundaries and healthy interaction. I opted for their unlimited package to test out Eddie's first month and I have a feeling I will be a repeat unlimited customer. Thank you, PAC staff, for being so great!

We LOVE PAC! We have used PAC for training, daycare, and boarding and couldn't be more pleased with everyone there! Ellery, Scott and the gang treat our pup like one of their own! Having a high energy bird dog, we are so lucky to have found people that have helped train our dog and treat her like family while we are away! It's more than just daycare, it's dog parties, and special treats, and just knowing your dog is loved while being away from you. The best part of the day is bringing a tired dog home from daycare! Proud to be a part of the PAC!

Caring staff, clean facility, and a great value. My dog can be very anxious around new dogs/people and did not do well at other daycares. PAC was patient and took the time to get him introduced to the facility and other dogs. Now he loves daycare and is excited when he gets there and is happy (and tired) when he leaves.

I cannot praise PAC highly enough! We did the Board & Train program for our puppy Rumour and saw an immediate difference when he got home. It makes life so much easier to now have a crate and command trained dog, especially when I'm working from home. Scott and Ellery are professional, patient, and always willing to answer our questions along the way. Rumour also loves daycare & we feel good knowing he's well taken care of while he's there!

PAC is a fabulous resource for anyone who has a dog. My border collie started having a lot of reactivity issues at 5 months, and we started training with Scott. We did a board and train, followed by private lessons and now we are in the group obedience classes on Mondays. He is fabulous with her, and his method is effective but also simple enough for me to understand.
It has been a lot of work and consistency is key, but Ralph would not have the quality of life she does without PAC. Although she may not ever be a super social dog, she is not limited anymore by her reactivity and has gained so much confidence. She now does a frisbee league, agility classes, and can go pretty much anywhere on or off leash. My dogs also go to daycare, and although they don't enjoy being in with the main group of dogs, Ellery takes amazing care of them and she makes sure they get one on one playtime during the day. Also their baths are AMAZING!

PAC is the place! Highly recommend! We did the board and train program. We were a little hesitant to drop off our 10 week old Pit Bull rescue for a month long program, but while we missed him, it was hands down the best thing we could have done for our dog, and for our family. Scott is just phenomenal- his attention to detail and high expectations for each dog is a perfect combination.
We are amazed at how much our dog learned - and, let's be honest, how much we, as dog owners learned, and continue to learn from Scott. Scott has a great teaching style that helps you identify what you want and expect from your dog, and then he teaches you exactly how to make that happen. The time and attention Scott devotes to the follow up lessons are invaluable.
Shout out to Ellery, the GM, who does a fantastic job facilitating the whole process and providing a fun, positive environment for the dogs and dog owners. PAC is always willing to answer questions and give support. Best of all, they have given us a puppy who has a solid understanding of basic commands, highlights include:: getting affection without biting or nipping, walking by our side without pulling or lunging, and laying calmly on his bed a few feet away from us while we have dinner. So impressed with PAC!
