THEY WILL HIT YOUR DOG! A trainer by the name of Joyce hit my 2 year old Labrador Daphne on the head and caused her to fall back and whimper. We were half way through our first class and Daphne was very overwhelmed by the experience and she started to jump up on me. I was attempting to stop Daphne from jumping by telling her down and bad jump, Joyce the trainer, walked over and said nothing to me or Daphne, she did not try to instruct me on how to fix the behavior, she just hit Daphne on the head and walked away.
After class I reached out to express my concerns and nobody ever apologized or gave me any explanation of why the trainer thought that behavior was acceptable. If you want your dog trained in a healthy and happy environment I would pick absolutely anywhere else! Please enjoy this picture of my happy girl who is very sweet and does not deserve corporal punishment!

I would like to respond to two post from this evening. Lauren Dahlager if you are going to make a negative post at least be honest. You were not at the training center to witness what you are accusing Joyce of. Alexandria Parker if you are going to make a post against someone at least state the truth. Your dog was jumping on you and Joyce came over to help you.
She did not hit your dog she bopped it on the head to get her attention to make her stop jumping on you. Your dog did not fall over nor did she whimper. And Joyce did not hit her and walk away she she explained to you that she should not be jumping on you. She also healed your dog around the ring without the dog jumping on her to show you what to do.
I was standing right behind you when Joyce came over to you because I was getting ready to go work the Golden Retriever that was in class. I am sure that the other people that were in the class would back up what I am saying. There are people in that class that have trained other dogs with Mary Jo. There are 3 dogs in that class that came to private lessons that came from bad situations and now they are able to be in a class and able to now socialize with other people and dogs. Mary Jo has over 40 years of training.
She has vets, vet techs, doctors, nurses, and multiple returning clients that will back her. It was also said that no one got back to you about what happened I did respond to you right after you sent the text and I let you know that I would talk to Mary Jo about what happened and I let you know that I had talked to her and that it would not happen again.
I have to point out that in none of your text did you address that Daphne fell over and whimpered. You came to the store tonight to get your money back which I did refund you. I did not refund the full amount because you signed the registration and it clearly states that there are no refunds so I gave you back all but the one class that you attended and a 5.00 administrative fee.
I did act in a professional manner while it was being said to me that what happened was going to hit google and that all the flyers that were at Pet People were now in the trash. If you are going to say someone did something that you don't like, that you would not do or that you don't agree with at least tell the truth about the event without exaggerating the chain of events.

DO NOT COME HERE! The trainers use extreme physical discipline on the dogs. Joyce hit my 75 lb family dog to the point she fell backwards whimpering. The actions observed and the way I was spoken too and treated was incredibly unprofessional, inappropriate, and overall disrespectful. I would give this poorly run establishment less stars if possible. Very disappointed.

Would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy. They instill fear into the dogs and owners. Very outdated way of training dogs. Currently working with an in home dog trainer to undo everything this facility did. And we are having an amazing outcome even after this facility told us our dog was going to end up in the shelter (very unprofessional).
I could go into details of them calling our dog a "terrorist", rolling eyes at my husband and the down right traumatizing training experience this place is but I would rather keep it short and sweet and say don't make the same mistake we did and go somewhere else! Ps I'm sure (like every other bad review) they will claim we didn't attend a session here since this post is under my maiden name. Just another way to tell they are an immature company.

After only 6 weeks of training my almost 7 month old puppy did a down stay at the park while the kids played. We had walked a mile and practiced our heel, sit and stay. To have a high energy dog lay down and stay when told to, even while it's little humans were running around and playing, is a true testament to how well Mary Jo's training works. we are so excited to continue to the next level and to be able to say we have a well-mannered puppy in our family. Highly, highly recommend this training facility! New location is very nice and easy to get to!

I have been training my dogs with Vince and Mary Jo at Cincinnati Canine Companion Center for over 20 years now. I have had 48 dogs over that period of time. I have competed in obedience, agility, and rally with many of them. I have done pet therapy work with all of them. Most of my dogs have been rescues in one way or another. Because of what I have learned from Vince and Mary Jo, I am able to do so many things with my dogs.

There is no doubt the trainers have extensive experience. My vet highly recommended them and my dog and I are midway through beginners course. To achieve a well trained dog both you and the dog will need to work daily between weekly classes. Staff is supportive which is much appreciated! If we achieve all our goals I will change my rating to a 5!

I highly recommend this place to help train your dog. I have had gentle and extremely strong willed Canines. you are taught how to handle each type of dog based on their needs. If you're looking to show, or looking for a well rounded dog who constantly receives compliments, take your dog to CCCC. Listen and follow instructions, and you will have an exceptional companion.
