D'tails In The Pearl

Deena was recommended to me by another fellow Yorkie parent. I have a 6 month old puppy who isn't fully comfortable with grooming yet, but Deena was very patient and knows how to handle young pups. My 3lb little girl always looks great after grooming by Deena.

The owner DEENA is an amazingly skilled groomer. my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Dylan, barks with excitement when we enter the parking lot. he loves "Mama Deena" and goes running to see her every week for his bath and blow out. Dylan brought his girlfriend Penelope with him when she was staying with us while her Mom was on a long trip. don't hesitate Deena is great and gives 100% attention to your pet.we are thrilled to have such a talented, caring woman take care of our loved family member, tired of local inconsistent groomers we are dedicated to the services Deena provides!

Fantastic groomer. Kind and patient with my puppy. Goes over everything with you and wants to make sure your baby is comfortable. Just what I was looking for in a groomer. Very responsive.

We finally found a great local groomer for our furbaby, Ruben. Deena was amazing with our nervous pup, took her time and gave him a great haircut and experience! She is really fast, responsive and kind. We will absolutely be bringing him here from now on!

Deena was so wonderful with my Papillon mix, who had never been groomed before! The grooming was all anyone could ask for! Fiona looks fabulous and she won't be too hot this summer. Deena is very personable and professional, and was quite good with Fiona. We will definitely be back! Thanks Deena!

I personally had a great experience with Deena. We were in town just for a couple of days and we currently live on the road. With the covid-19 most groomer don't want new clients but Deena was not like that. I reached out to her, she was super accommodating. Her schedule was full but she offered to come in early or even on her day off to take care of our dog.

It is just a weird time right now that you never know what to expect but she was great. She managed to make me feel safe, all mask and distance respected. I was able to drop off my dog "contactless" and within a hour and 15 minutes she was done. Our little pups is good to go for the next couple of months and this is all thanks to Deena. Finally she even sent me a text with instruction and guidelines for the next groomer since she knows I am on the move constantly. Such a nice touch Thank you again!

I left after being in there for one minute. The owner Deena was rude and unfriendly. My mini American Eskimo needed grooming and he was not matted but within seconds without even touching him she said "he looks matted I don't de mat". I have never been told that at any dog groomers before, the whole point of a dog coming in is so that they can be brushed out, bathed, and trimmed.

It sounds like she wants to get paid for doing nothing. Don't come here, bad vibes, you can't see through the windows, I don't trust a dog groomers where the public can't see what's going on. I wouldn't trust this place with my dog.

I have two poodle mix dogs 60lb and 10lb. Have been using Deena's services for a few years now without any real complaints. I've brought both dogs to other places when she's too busy and I'm in a hurry And I'm usually disappointed with the job they do. Deena is super fast and my dogs look different each time but they always look adorable. I'm not picky, I just want them shaved down and adorable faces.

My only complaint I have with her isn't really her fault. She often can't get all my dogs nails. She told me once that she can't have a lot of yelping, my little one is a yelper! We know it's true he's a major yelper! But besides that our dogs always come home clean and look great. We've had issues with our older dog being cut in random places on his body at other salons, Deena has never cut him! It's often in his armpits, not sure why but nobody ever tells us when this occurs.

I like to think/hope they don't know they did it, he seems to have a high tolerance for pain and never yelps. I've accidentally been standing on his tail and nothing out of him! Lol! I always check him over after anyone trims him and apply ointment to the wounds. Deena has never accidentally done anything to either dog. Highly recommend if you can get your dog in, she's a busy place!

Such a great place for puppy grooming. I love that its a one woman show and that she give individual attention to my dog.

Deena is low key and very skilled. I love the calmness of her shop- one dog at a time, and in and out in an hour. When I came to pick up my yorkiepoo he looked beautiful, and was cozily snuggled on her lap. She will be my regular groomer.

Deena is extremely friendly and fast. My dog looked great afterwards. Only issue is that after I pick my dog up, he and his collar are covered in his hair. Seems like he should be bathed after his cut, not before.

I wish there was an option for no stars! I took my dog in today for his appointment and her salon was pretty hard for me to find so I had to call her and ask where she was. She was very rude and impatient on the phone and when I finally got to her she told me all of my dogs hair needed to be shaved off because his hair is "matted". I have taken my dog to several other salons in the same condition he was in today and I have never heard anything about him being matted or hard to cut.

I did not want all of his hair to be shaved for $60+ so I left. She was rude and had awful customer service and a horrible explanation of "matted" fur! Definitely would not recommended d'tail salon!

This lady is by far the worst in the business! id walk away from her asap. worst attitude in a person ive ever seen and defiantly would never be comfortable leaving my dog with her. i tried to cancel my appointment with this girl on her website and wasn't working so i called and she texted me so i let her know whats goimg on even have text to prove that i told her days ahead of time. and the first thing i get as a customer walking in for the first time was her hands crossed yelling at me. by far the worst customer service ive ever dealt with. if i could leave no stats i would

She is punctual and very detailed. Like the fact that she does not make you wait nor kennel the dogs.

I've taken my tiny Maltese here for a couple of years. She's wonderful, only works with one dog at a time so your dog doesn't have to be there for hours with other dogs, and he always looks great afterwards.

I took our Shipooh to Deena at D'Tails and she did an amazing job. It was money well spent! I could totally tell the difference between a $40 grooming visit and a $65 visit. You pay for what you get, and we will definitely be coming back. Thank You, KSD

Terrible experience. I emailed them about it, but haven't heard back. This was my poor puppy's first time getting a haircut, and he was completely traumatized by it. I dropped off a happy, easy going pup, and I picked up a very upset doggie who took 24 hours to start acting like himself again. I was told that he was afraid of the blow dryer - well then, don't use it!

And that he was terrified of the clippers. She knew I was walking around the neighborhood, and she should have called me if it was going that badly, instead of terrorizing my dog and doing a crappy job. Not only was he traumatized, but he came out of there with a choppy, very uneven shearing, after we asked for a light trim. I had to even it out with scissors, and it will be a while before he looks like himself again. We're talking an inch difference from one part to the next, and from one side to the other. I don't think we'll ever go to another groomer.

Yeah! I'm so happy to have found Deb at D'tails! I just moved from Southern California with two rescued Chihuahuas. They are very jumpy, and occasionally aggressive. especially when touching their paws is involved. I had been avoiding getting their nails trimmed, since I did not have someone I trusted here, until I noticed this cute little shop directly across the street from my apartment.

Right away, I could tell Deb was very experienced with rescue dog behavior, and rather than grab my dogs, pull them in the back, and wrestle with them until the job was done, she sat right down to get to know them and calm them down. Once my two pups were all done, Deb even took the time to sit down with me and discuss some tips for socializing and walking previously abused dogs, as this is an everyday challenge we face. Already, our walks and trips to the park have been so much more pleasant and enjoyable. Plus, Frenchy, my little female, remembers where D'tails is across our street, and tries to go walking in every morning! : I think that says it all!

I completely missed the whole 30 lbs weight limit - I have an 8/month old German-Austrailian-Shep/Collie mix. We both strolled through the front doors and Deena peeked around the corner. There was a 30 second confused stare-off, shifting eyes glances between two women and one pup. Deena: "Can I help you?" Me: "Yes, we are your 3 O'Clock" Deena: "He looks over 30 pounds" Me: ". Oooooh. Hmmm" Deena: "He looks really sweet though. We'll see what happens but no promises!" Tamba (my pup) and Deena became besties right off the bat.

She finished his wash early and when I got back, they were both running around the front room playing. I've never seen my dog so clean and fluffy looking. We did the clean and trim+file. Will come here often :) She said we are always welcome, despite his size, because of his temperament. Two paws up! Woof!

I took my Yorkiepoo in to get a haircut and when he was returned to me I was unfortunately disappointed. I made sure to specifically ask her to maintain the his Yorkie chest patch and beard. She left him choppy with long and short patches, no beard, no chest patch, extremely close to body shave, extreme dandruff, unclipped nails, and such short penis hair that it created a rash on his stomach from the constant poking.

It cost me $55, and two hours, which he was done in 45 minutes but kept. She was so overbooked that she did that shitty of a job and was rushing to finish the others. He came back with other dogs hair covering him (as the entire place was) and an overpriced haircut. My sigh of disappointment lead to a snotty remark. I'll be heading to Noah's Arf. It smelt cleaner from outside than this did in.

I have tried several groomers in Portland over the last 4 years but have not been fully happy with the results. I just picked up my Scottie from Deena and he looks fantastic! Im very happy and will definitely be back!

Deena is moving to Activspace June 1st, which is exciting for those of us who hate to pay for parking or hunt for a space in the Pearl District. Recently, my pup was having food allergies and had bizarre shaved patches from the vet taking biopsies to diagnose it. Deena was a miracle worker and transformed him into beautiful from being attacked by a 3 year old with a shaver.

Deena is a competitive groomer who loves dogs. She knows what she is doing, not always easy to find. I love taking my Golden Ellie for a special "spa" experience since she does't need a breed specific cut. You will be happy you took your pup. Need to schedule an appointment, can do it on the website.

For close to a year, I brought my Yorkie here regularly for groomings (every six weeks). Deena is super friendly, clearly an animal lover, and gives you exactly what you ask for in a cut or style. One of the reasons I initally chose D'Tails was because they offer puppy grooming, which helps your puppy get oriented to the grooming process. If it weren't for the parking situation, I'd still be bringing Bailey here.

Due to the Pearl location, all parking is located on the street of course, and the whole process of searching for parking to drop off, as well as searching for parking to pick up became way too stressful for me. Due to a busy work schedule, I was limited to scheduling grooming appointments on the weekend, when parking in the Pearl is especially crazy. If you live in the area, or don't mind dealing with busy street parking, D'Tails is a great place for grooming services.

First off, Deena is fantastic! If you've been frustrated with local groomers and are not afraid to try one more place, you will not regret meeting Deena. I was able to book an appointment online and include comments on how I wanted her groomed and what works best for my dog. I was not disappointed. As a matter of fact, she exceeded my expectations.

My Australian Shepherd received the most thorough & professional grooming she has had in years. I have been to multiple (~7) groomers in the area and no one has been attentive to the specifications of doing an Aussie correctly. Deena was fabulous, and my reserved Aussie was calm and not at all stressed when I returned to pick her up. It was obvious that Deena had treated her with the utmost of care and I am happy to now become a frequent return customer. I will certainly be recommending Deena to anyone who needs quality grooming in a caring & friendly environment.
