Hip Hound

Hip Hounds has been a long time favorite for all the coolest accessories and delicious treats my pup loves. Their selection is always well stocked. My dog gets so much attention! Staff are knowledgeable and always helpful. They truly love all the animals that come to visit. I highly recommend this shop for your dog care needs. Your dog will love it, too!

I share the sentiment of a reviewer below- hip hound used to be so awesome! The girls at the counter (and I'm not exaggerating) did not even say one word to us while ringing us up but continued to talk the entire time to each other about something else. The experience was uncomfortable and took 3 times longer than it should. On top of that after my dog had some of the treats in the self serve area- has been vomiting for 12 hours now. Just a warning!

I used to love taking my pup here. The best clothing, staff and unique buys that other pet stores in PDX lack. It seems like there was an ownership change. There's always a ton of young girls working and talking with each instead of ringing people up or helping out on the floor. The prices have gone up a ton and it has a constant unpleasant smell. Makes it feel unclean.

I stopped by today to look for party supplies. I was dreading going in based off my last time (took 45 minutes to get a carrier rung up). Walked in, the two girls at the cash register area were talking about "spicy weather" spent 15 minutes walking around looking for party goods was never once greeted. Saw the party goods on the way out by the cake case. $4 for a construction paper hat. Lol. Hiphound, you've jumped the shitzu

Such a sweet spot! Lots of toy selections for our dog, and a great assortment of coats/sweaters medium sized dogs. They have a little bakery up front with lots of treats. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our dog throughly enjoyed the visit!

Got bunch of cup cakes, cookies and treats for the dogs. Was hoping we could get a cake but they were already sold out for the day. The prices could be a bit more reasonable but the quality of the items were very good. Dogs throughly enjoyed the treats.

This store has a little bit of everything you could need. They have a very large fresh animal food section. You can find so many animal toys for any occasion. The staff is amazing and nice and very knowledgeable.

We were very surprised to find a great assortment of cat products. We have been looking for some new cat dances for our Siamese and Hip Hound had a GREAT selection. I'm just excited when we get a dog because this place is Dog Toy Heaven! Very much recommend!

Hope hound is amazing! The have the widest and best variety of dog sweaters, jackets and beds I've seen in the Portland area. They also carry many unique toys and accessories. Also they sell carriers, a few stores of front carriers with the over one shoulder or two straps and strollers, many things I've only found online. The plaid jacket my pup is wearing is Hip Hound and in the other picture she's eating a doggie treat cupcake the were giving to shoppers at Christmas time. An extra feature is their coffee bar right in the store along with backed goods for or furry friends.

The staff is except friendly and helpful without crowding you while you shop. They have a large variety of cat products to but since i don't have a cat i didn't look there as much so not too much to tell you about it. Overall it's the best "pet shop" I've ever been to and that's saying something since I've working at two!

This is an amazing pet store. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I was looking for a winter sweater for our mini dachshund and the staff was able to show me a few options. They have a great selection of pet food, including some local options. I definitely recommend this place!
