At Blue Springs 'n Katydid Dog Training Center, our staff is dedicated to the training and betterment of all dogs. With more than 35 years of experience in dog training and obedience, we offer a variety of classes to dogs and owners throughout the Denver, Colorado, area. Our professional, experienced trainers are ready to help your pet become an obedient and well-behaved dog. Since 1975, ownership, tutelage and leadership of BSKD has been in the able hands of CJ Evert. She has been a Physical Therapist for coming up on 25 years, and Certified Canine Rehab Therapist for 6 years, and has owned her own business for the past 5 years. While Sheri may implement some small changes to BSKD (such as credit cards), mostly the operations will continue as is with the same excellent training as in the past.
We sell various obedience training aids, leashes, collars, fun masks for all sorts of events, britches for bitches in heat. Gary has had years of experience capturing the best side of your favorite friend. He comes to BSKD on weekends as announced and is always ready to photo your animals for the holiday season.
Blue Springs 'n Katydid has been a source of trained dogs for movie and commercial work for 20+ years. Casting agents appreciate the consistent quality and performance of BSKD dogs. Productions for the big and small screen are very costly. It is important that the dog on set is able to perform the actions required in a timely, confident, safe and happy manner.

It was ok. Based on the other reviews and conversations I had there, it seems the experience is instructor-dependent, and mine wasn't great. The assistant was good but she too would get sniped at a lot by the main instructor. Almost half the class dropped out midway through, so it wasn't just me who seemed less than impressed. If you are Of A Certain Age, you may like it better.
If you just want a decently trained family dog, I'd look elsewhere. Also, the dates they confirmed when I signed up were not the same as the actual dates due to the instructors skipping a week to go to a dog show. They didn't get subs and they refuse to give refunds, so keep that in mind too.

A great facility with a variety of trainers for everything from puppy training, agility, rally, obedience, confirmation, and more. Each trainer specializes in their training field and work great with a variety of dogs of all ages, temperaments, and breeds. Classes are offered at many different times through out the week so it's easy to find a class that works with your schedule!
They can also assist with helping you learn to groom your dog according to their coat type. They truly care for you and your best friend. With a number of trainers in each area of training and a variety of class times you are also able to find a trainer that fits you and your dog the best.

I have been bringing my Bull Terriers to Blue Springs 'n Katydid since 1987. They have helped me turn my wild puppies into wonderful pets, and Champion show dogs. Without their kind and gentle guidance my relationship with my pets would have been a failure. I recommend them to anyone with a new puppy. I take my bullies to obedience classes, rally classes and conformation classes and they have helped me turn them into wonderful citizens that everyone loves and admires. They have helped me turn eight bullies from wild unruly puppies to champions and title holders. These trainers are the BEST!

So much knowledge in one place! Over the years, I have taken dogs to puppy classes, beginning obedience, and rally classes. I have had a few show dogs who did very well after taking conformation classes (taught by real AKC judges!). All the teachers really know their stuff. Not just dog lovers who have taken a few classes and decided to become trainers. Can't beat Blue Springs!
