Would you like your puppy to become reliably housetrained, to use his teeth on his own toys instead of on you and your possessions? Would you like him to learn appropriate playskills with other dogs and come to you even in the middle of a play session. Does your dog jump on people, pull on the leash, run out the door, not come when he's called, or steal things and play keep away?
What would it be like to have a dog who reliably comes when he's called, greets people without jumping, walks on a leash without pulling, waits for permission to go out doors, brings things to you instead of playing keep away, and pays attention to you even when other dogs and people are in the environment?

Cj has been training dogs in my family for years. She's so in tune to what they need and is focused on positive reinforcement. It created a stronger bond between my dog and I which I was not expecting. My dog has a tendency to be anxious reactive and I was given so many tools to help positively change that behavior.

If you are searching for a dog trainer with experience, honesty, and knowledge-you found her! I happen to be sitting in one of her classes yesterday and can confirm that she definitely knows her stuff. She is enthusiastic in her trainings and also with the individuals who take their pups in. Can't stress enough on how CLEAN it smelled and felt in there. Life after covid has made into a germ-a-phobe and this business smelled amazingly clean. Keep the good work CJ and friends!

If I could rate ZERO stars I would. I am very disappointed in CJ's Dog Training classes. The first class was her trying to sell us her products, over two hours of her talking about products that we commonly see at PetSmart. The puppy is not allowed to come to the first class, so that leaves only five real classes. The other classes are mainly her talking for the full two hours which makes the puppies VERY restless.
I did not realize I was paying to sit and listen to a lecture. If that was the case I could have looked up training videos on YouTube for free. This is not a TED Talk Cj! Puppies need HANDS ON training and all the puppies were denied that. I should have listened to the other many negative reviews but I decided to give this place a chance and I highly regret it.
She is also very unprofessional, she is rude and seems to get overwhelmed in teaching the class which causes stress on not only the customers, but the puppies as well. Respectfully save your money and go some where else! Your puppies first few months of training are very important and we had it wasted in trusting this place. She is literally a scammer and does not care about you or your dog. Very Shady business (If you would even call it one)

My dog is a large breed Classes were great for the dog & myself. Instructions were concise & helped my dog learn his manners. Was nervous since dog was reactive to others, dog & humans, but she helped him & me practice in class being calm with simple steps to take. There was no need buy a bunch of extra gear & no required textbooks for the classes.
Class lessons focused on positive reinforcement, praise & treat rewards. Action based in class sessions are used outside of class with good results. Instructor is very knowledgeable, friendly & fantastic with wide range of dog breeds (even the stubborn ones)!

We went to CJs with our lab puppy about 8 years ago. We had been referred by family. CJ is very knowledgeable and skilled as you can see through her own dogs' behavior. We loved the class then and our dog really showed improvement after we did puppy, obedience 1&2. Pre pandemic : We just brought our german shepard through puppy class and obedience 1.
The classes are instructive with some demonstration. You are sent home with a handout of tips to train on. Its a little different than it used to be likely because of the pandemic precautions. I really liked when cj would grab a few dogs from the group before and have them practice with her once or twice then the handler also practices. Also would love if the handouts were also sent out electronically via email.

Would not recommend CJ to anyone. The classes are completely unstructured and she doesn't help if you are struggling with something. She just tells you there is something that she sells that will help you or to get a book. my puppy know a lot of what she was showing us. When I asked if he should be in a more advanced class so said no this was best for us. Also I was told that I couldn't use a martingale or my leash during class. My leash was too thick and martingale was a "negative reinforcement".

Extremely happy with the price and knowledge we received during obedience training. Having direct access to tap into CJ's experience and knowledge, even if I only wanted 1 question per class (I could have easily asked more) was definitely worth it. I've owned many dogs before, but having CJ's knowledge on how to interpret behavior and encourage desired behaviors was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful for the cost.

I got my mini Labradoodle in April 2020, right during the pandemic. I wanted to make sure he got proper training, even though dog trainers weren't able to hold in person classes. CJ agreed to have weekly phone calls to get my puppy off to a good start. She was flexible and had such great advice. My pup attended Kindergarten and the first level of training.all very helpful.
I got compliments at the vet recently about how his good manners. He's now 1 1/2 years old and does so well.we practice every day. I can't thank CJ enough. I only wish my work schedule was more flexible to get him into the next level of obedience training. I highly recommend CJ and her staff!

I went into this puppy class excited and hoping for the best but coming out incredibly disappointed. I attended the puppy kindergarten class which ended up being about an hour long lecture and about 5-10 minutes of actual training practice. Every week. Needless to say, all of the puppies became very restless and bored every class. If you have zero experience with dogs ever and you have a desire to be treated terribly for asking questions that they might disagree with you on, then this is the perfect place for you. I would not recommend ever coming here for classes. I have since moved to another local training facility and the difference in quality is shocking.

We started puppy training at CJ's when our pup was just shy of 3 months old. The socialization, potty training and basic command techniques were SO easy to follow and effective. We decided to continue with the basic obedience class and are very happy with everything we've learned and how well-behaved our little guy is. We plan to do rally training in the future.

C. J. Is the 4th or 5th dog trainer I've been to over the years and she is the best. I'm old and I've had many dogs. Most I have been able to train myself. But I've tried training my little poodle for two years. He is very stubborn and energetic. C. J. Is helping me make a gentleman of him. Everybody has noticed a big improvement in his behavior since we've been going to class. C. J. has some creative ideas about training in addition to the standard procedures. C. J. packs a lot of learning into each class.
She gives lots of direction, demonstration and practice time. She is always available to help with specific problems. You will not regret choosing this trainer for your puppy or older dog.

I would not take another class here. We took the puppy kindergarten class. There were too many pups in class which allowed for no 1:1 assistance and no time for questions. The first class is without pup. The last two classes are spent on an "agility course, " plus puppy play time. So only 3 real training classes. It seems they provide "training light" so you'll sign up for the next class. No thanks.

This was a great experience for us and our dog. We attended the beginners training class and CJ really helped us with tools that we can use to help our puppy grow up with good manners and training. We saw huge improvement from the first class to our last. CJ and the assistants were so helpful and friendly. This class was suggested to us by our veterinarian and we would definitely suggest it to everyone. Thanks to CJ and her team! Fischer will be back for more training!

Very pleased with the dog training courses offered here. I have taken three courses here with my dog. CJ is very thorough and is a master at her craft. You need not look further than her own dog to see she is an excellent trainer. After taking this course, I felt my dog had come a long ways with in regards to her obedience level. The courses not only helped my dog become more obedient but it made me a better dog trainer. I learned effective methods to train my dog and CJ made it easy. Thanks, CJ!

My husband and I have really enjoyed taking our new pup to CJ's. We're almost done with our current session of Puppy Kindergarten and have felt that she has really added to our relationship with our new family member. She's great at explaining the behaviors of your pup, and positive ways to correct unwanted behaviors. We came her as a referral from our vet, and haven't been disappointed.
You may hear other reviews talk about the facility being outdated, and in need of some repairs, but her track record with training her own dogs, including the one she brings to class, can easily outweigh the building needing some minor repairs and paint. With just two classes left, we have decided to continue brining our dog here to have her socialized with other pups in a save environment (she doesn't lax at all on her vaccination policy), as well as continue building on the foundation she's received in Kindergarten. It'll take some trust to understand why she trains the way that she does - as she does have some solid rules - but she is clearly an expert on her craft, very friendly, and knows dogs. Exactly what we are paying her for.

C.J.'s came highly recommended by several friends and neighbors so I was anxious to take my lab/aussie mix in for some obedience lessons. Walking was a chore as she pulled so hard it wasn't enjoyable. We had been working on sit, however, I learned more tools to make learning easier for the pet. Come and wait are so important to protecting your dog and C.J. makes sure you understand how and why you need to train on these skills. I highly recommend her to anyone and we are looking forward to "rally" (agility) training next. Thanks, C.J.!

The best money I'll ever spend on my dog! I never knew there was anything like CJ's puppy kindergarten. I've had dogs all my life. I've taken dog training courses before and they were always about teaching the dog to sit, stay, down, etc. I thought I knew a lot about dogs but she showed me so much more about how to really communicate and enjoy my dog. Sure, her first class is a little long on the toys and treats.
You don't know why toys and treats matter until you've sat through a few of her classes. She'll help you UNDERSTAND WHY your dog does what he does and HOW you can make that a happy thing for both of you. CJ helps you learn how to make your dog a part of your family that you are not ashamed of. If you follow CJ's advice you will not need to put your dog in the back room when company comes over.
You will not need to put them in the crate so you can watch tv or have quiet time. You will be able to have them by your side no matter what you are doing and enjoy them. After all, isn't that why you brought your dog home with you in the first place? To have them by your side and enjoy them? It's like having the dog whisperer right here in Vancouver.
I just LOVE her and her staff. I WISH that all of the dog shelters in the area REQUIRED new puppy owners to attend a class like her Puppy Kindergarten. If you follow all of the advice you hear in her classes you can confidently say that "Everything you ever needed to know, you learned in CJ's Puppy Kindergarten" -that's a FACT! If you want to enjoy your dog, no matter how old, and you want your family and visitors to enjoy coming to your house you ABSOLUTELY MUST give CJ's a try. Dog lovers will not regret it!
