At 8 AM they said they would see our pet for a large wound at 10 AM, but they called an hour later to say they couldn't, after everyone else was even more booked up and we had faxed records. They wasted our time and put our animal in more harm. Without even receiving services this is clearly already the worst possible place to get care for an animal.

I brought Isabella here for the first time. Our experience wasn't very pleasant. First, one of the nurse techs made a disrespectful comment of how my cat smelled. This nurse tech actually held my cat and sniffed her IN FRONT of me. And then he asked if my cat bathes herself. Isabella did not smell. Also I told this person that I just bathed Bella last Thursday evening.
I was so turned off by his question and rude statement that I considered walking out. But I paid a nonrefundable deposit of $49.00 and decided to wait to see the vet. My cats kennel was disorganized and had fur from other cats that go into Bella's kennel and play inside of her kennel. That's why Bella's fur looked crazy. Eventually, I met the vet who started questioning me on how often I apply and feed Bella organic coconut oil.
I told him I've done it for years and that Bella had never gotten I'll from eating organic coconut oil. Then the vet proceeded to tell me that too much coconut oil causes pancreatic cancer in adult cats. The vet and his staff couldn't control Isabella, who was distressed from being at a new vet. And she hates being restrained. They were too rough with her when trying to hold her still to check her temperature.
That always makes me angry to see Bella distressed. I even tried to calm Bella down with her treats and the vet orders me to not give her treats while he inspected her. That's the issue I've had with multiple vets and their staff at these animal hospitals: they're too presumptuous and don't really listen to the owner of the animals. The experience was about Bella and her health.
However I felt judged and attacked as a pet owner. The staff here gave the impression that I was slacking with both Bella's hygiene and health. I was just uncomfortable. again.

I wish I could give no stars. I took my kitty in for a bad ear infection and it was such a horrible experience! They didn't know how to hold her correctly so I had to which is so hard because they were cleaning her ears right in front of me which as her momma was horrible to watch. They gave me medicine I had to give to her at home and I had to hold her down 3 times a day for 2 weeks to do so and come to find ( after taking her to a REAL VET. ) they had not cleaned her ears at all!
And the medicine prescribed was not necessary or correct for her problem! They just scraped the top of her ears and the medicine they gave me was for slightly irritated ears not full blown ear infections. Also while at their office, they told me to let Luna walk around the room to try and help her calm down by smelling everything and getting acquainted but then we're going in and out of the room even after I warned that she will dart out of the room given the chance.
When the vet talked to me after proscribing me bogus medicine he only named two reason why she could've gotten the ear infection when in fact there's many reasons! This place put my kitty through so much pain and trauma FOR NO REASON. Can't believe this place is open. Should be shut down immediately! Disgusting.

Dr. Carlson diagnosed my senior cat with early stage kidney failure and was being treated at Hickman Mills Animal Hospital. I boarded him there for 7 days while I was on vacation and was assured he would be cared for. When I picked him up he was severely dehydrated, tremoring, he could not stand up, his whole body was completely limp. He had caked on feces and smelled of urine.
He had been completely ignored. They gave him fluids on the 6th day and the 7th day when I picked him up. But, it was too late. He had been ignored too long. He had to be put down. When I expressed my discouragement about the lack of care my cat had received, Dr. Carlson became very defensive and showed no sympathy. HE TOLD HIS STAFF TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME!

Why make someone an appointment, then turn around and magically not be open? I understand things come up, but if thats the case, patients need to be informed. Im tired of trying to make appointments for my cats on my days off work and they have every excuse in the book why they cant be seen on those days. Im done. Will be taking them elsewhere from now on.

From the beginning of the appointment, the vet-tech tried to sell me dog products with more pressure than a car's salesman. I understand they need to make a living, but this could be offered towards the end of the appointment after I see the doctor. I don't normally take my pets to Hickman Mills Animal Hospital, but when explaining that they offered an earlier appointment than Crest Animal Hospital for my pet's issue, Dr. Carlson has the audacity to ask "Then why did I take them there?" May I remind him, I AM PAYING FOR YOUR SERVICES.
Once my mother, came in to provide payment, (because we can't both be inside - although we are wearing mask) I asked if it was okay to put one of my two dogs into the car. Dr. Carlson responded with a passive-aggressive tone stating, "I guess that's fine" as if I was going to leave without payment. While my mom was trying to pay, Dr. Carlson was REALLY micromanaging the front desk lady to ensure payment was acceptable, the driver license was from in-state, to verify a second source of identity and that payment went through successfully. (not even the DMV ladies are so traumatized) Overall, I felt very unwelcomed, and Dr. Carlson exemplified more than non-professional character.

I had my pet seen to get his mouth looked at. I ended up spending so much money, getting some anti-biotics and blood drawn, and when my phone got shut off because I put my cat's health over a phone, Hickman Mills made no attempt to send me a letter or an e-mail with my cat's test results. I got no effort on their part to follow up with me in any way, and my cat still hasn't had his teeth cleaned or gotten all the help he needed.
Instead I'm broke and unable now to do anything for him, and when I thought that this place cared, they didn't make ANY EFFORT to contact me through e-mail or send a letter or anything else. Otherwise, they were great with my cat but made no effort to try other methods of contact or let me know how the blood results were that I paid for.
