David Hale began Something Fishy in 1991. Dave has been involved with tropical fish and the pet industry for over 38 years and specializes in the breeding of award-winning African Rift Lake Cichlids and other tropical fish. We expanded into our own building in 2002. Housing our retail store and fish hatchery all under one roof. In 2014, we purchased a second building and expanded our fish breeding. In 2020, we completely moved the retail store to our second building. This new retail location offers a large increase in gallons maintained for retail stock.
Services
Do not be fooled by the bigger flashier stores in the area. Something Fishy is the place to go to get the best selection of cichlids in Northern Ohio. Period. Great selection at a great price. I picked up a dozen Zaire Blue Kitumbas from Dave at the ACA convention in Chicago. The fish are awesome and Dave was very helpful and easy to deal with.

Went there yesterday for the first time after finding them on Google. Driving up, you would be shocked by their selection inside. I bought 10 Cardinal Tetra's, 10 Rummynose Tetra's, 1 Blue Diamond Angel, 1 Bulgarian Green Seal Point Angel, 3 Denision Barbs, and live plants. It was amazing how larger fish stores had less stock then these guys. All my fish are healthy, doing great and eating already. Great staff as well whose happy to answer questions. Will 100% be returning. Supoort small business! :

Something Fishy well worth my 1 1/2 hour drive. If you are looking for cichlids this is the place for you. We have had African cichlids for 15 years and I have never come across a store with a selection like Something Fishy! Outstanding selection and amazing quality! Adam and his staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for a great experience! Looking forward to our next trip there.

Went for the 1st time last week and loved it. Staff was very friendly! And AMAZING selection of fish. I will definitely be back! Tanks were super clean with healthy fish. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I don't see me ever going any where else for fish again. I got 2 gorgeous severums that are doing great in my tank. Absolutely amazing. The customer service that the store clerk provide was awesome. He was so knowledgeable and I am so sorry I didn't get his name. He was very patience with my brother and I while we shopped. I will definitely recommend this place if you're in the market for fresh water fish and aquariums. Make sure you say Helllo to Pocco the bird.

Every great review left by others are dead on.this place is amazing very clean, knowledgeable, friendly they have gained a loyal customer. It's so many great things to say about something fishy. Please please check this place out you will definitely be happy prices are reasonable, very strong and active fish nothing dead in any of the aquariums, you can tell that they take pride in their shop.
Oh and I should have got the other light not that there's anything wrong with the one I purchased just think I may have liked more setting but I'm still a happy camper. All in all Thank you for your service and see u guys soon.

Love, love, love this place! I had no idea I could have fish other than gold fish in a fresh water tank! I got two angel fish from here and some other fishy and I love them! The fellas here are knowledgeable and awesome to work with! I go in this store just to see what's new and converse with the guys. They're awesome!
