Fantastic little pet store with a good selection of foods, toys, and treats. Owner is really friendly and have had great interactions with staff as well! Will continue to be a go for our pup's supplies.

My little one got his Autumn/Winter outfits here recently. We went in to browse and came out with two very functional and stylish outfits. I wanted to get another one but they didn't have his size, but I think we are pretty good. The lady that helped us was the nicest. We got to try on a few outfits to make sure they fit before buying. B got some awesome treats, and stylish outfits to boot! Previous visit was his first day with us. We got him his first harness, first leash, and first ID tags here. Excellent service. Thank you.

The owner helped me after a really long first day with my first dog who got out of her harness. (Trust was a mutual task for both of us from the very beginning and now my dog and me are great partners). They're great people at Cal's! Also, I love to grab a treat and then go across the street to Bazaar cafe where pups are welcome in the garden out back and I can grab a dog treat they leave us when I fix up my coffee.

The staff at Cal's is wonderful. Every time we come in with our dog Frankie they offer him treats and are so sweet to him. The store is cozy with a great selection of things we always forget to refill until the last minute, like healthy treats and poop bags. This is a great small business to support.

You will NOT be sorry. RUN, don't walk, to order the tags that slip on the collar! Our nearly 14 year old Golden doodle wore hers for her ENTIRE LIFE--and it NEVER fell off, or became unreadable. We have used it for 3 dogs now--all VERY active. A bonus? It's QUIET (not sure why I out that in yelling caps) because it doesn't rub against any other tag or even against the leash while walking. This is not a paid endorsement--we LOVE this product!

In an effort to shop small and local, I wanted to check out this store for our dog supplies. The store is very clean and organized and carries a lot more supplies than I expected. The owner and staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are directional signs on the floor that control the flow of the room and maintain social distancing during COVID-19. Will definitely make an effort to come back for our dog supply needs!

Such a treasure! Our family loves Cal's! We've visited with all our fur family over the years. They are always so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have lived in the Richmond neighborhood for many years and finally made it to Cal's Pet Supply. What a pleasant experience. The owner Tricia is so friendly, helpful, compassionate, and generous. I told her that my cat Matilda had to be put to sleep recently and that the younger cat Snooker had fleas. She gave me a dose of Advantage (to kill fleas on cats) for free, no charge!

She also gave me some little treats to give Snooker. She was very nice to everyone that came in. There seem to be many customers that frequent this store. I can't believe that I did not come here before for cat supplies. I have been lazy and ordering online, but do believe that we should support our local merchants. Cal's Pet Supply will be seeing more of me. Thank you Tricia for a great experience.

It's been 5 years since I wrote my first review of Cal's. In that time Tricia and Mark have become like family. They are the epitome of the good that a small local shop, run by people who love what they do and want to contribute to a neighborhood can be. Yes, you can probably find some of the products they offer for less online, but you won't get the caring advice and excellent curation of options that they accomplish at Cal's.

You can't stop in while walking your pup, have a friendly chat, and watch Tricia fawn over your furry friend while she gets him to do a few tricks for treats if you're shopping on a website. We are happy to support this store and have them in the neighborhood. A true gem!

Couldn't get any satisfaction on Amazon and Petco sooo I decided to pull away from my computer, hop in my van and drive across town. I walked into this small store front called "Cal's Pet Supply" on California St. in San Francisco. Tricia, the owner, help me find the perfect scratching post for my little Zoe! She said to me, this supports the lady in Petaluma that makes these scratching post and she said they are much better quality than what you find on the internet. Yes, it took a little extra effort and it was a good feeling that I was spending my holiday bucks with a local small business.

I walked in to Cal's today and was amazed by how clean and beautifully stocked this store is! I had not been in for a while and the place is just magnificent. I bought a couple to cat toys for some friends of mine and I was so pleased to meet Tricia (Trisha?). I complimented her on her store and she was just wonderful! I really want to let everyone know they must visit the store, there are so many wonderful things to choose from for our furry love bugs and all the people we know whose pets we love to spoil!

I am going to visit more often. I am so pleased we have such a great store in our neighborhood, I hope we keep them busy! It's a rare thing to have such personalized treatment from a fellow animal lover!

I love this store! I own a Dog Walking/Sitting/Training Business in San Francisco and will need to purchase extra treats, gifts, or replacement equipment often. I stumbled upon this store by accident and was pleasantly surprised by the terrific inventory selection and affordable pricing. Aggravated with driving in the city, I wanted to combo my errands and quickly get everything done and get home. Yelp to the rescue that found a local pet store (shop small) that was on the way home - and open now. Perfect. There are two 10-minute green curbs across the street and adjacent to Cal's Pet Supply so it was easy to park and dash in to buy Nulo canned food and Cat Attract litter.

The first impression is that the store is very clean, organized and well-stocked. It looks like you walked into a serene cabin in Vermont. The owner, Tricia, and I talked about changing my Torbie over to a new litter box with high sides for my "likes to wreck the room at the Chelsea" cat. Tricia also seemed to consider carrying Nulo pouch food that rock star kitty goes crackers for. Cal's opens at 10, earlier than other pet supply stores and is open 7 days a week with- and you'll love this part- curbside service if you need it.

Because few things are as aggravating as needing to run errands and spending more time circling than getting things checked off your list. Lovely owner, excellent store with prices in line with Chewy or Amazon. Support your local mom 'n' pop!

My dog had a disagreement with the neighborhood skunk, so I rushed to buy cleaner. While I do love a good Muni ride, this one was about 20 minutes late, which I didn't love. I gave the store a quick ring, and she promised she'd wait for me. This was my first visit, so the broad selection and customer service impressed me instantly. Way to save the day, and my sanity! See you again soon.

Super store. So helpful. Great selection and variety of dog foods and treats, plus dog leashes and collars. Highly recommend.

My friend and I walked in and were greeted with two wonderful people. (I now regret not asking their names!) Either way, the man who was there was super helpful. I appreciated that he ASKED if he could give the dog a treat instead of assuming that it's alright. It was so polite and from that point on I knew that he knew what he was doing. He can talk to you about doggies for days! He's an excellent conversationalist.

And I think what I loved the most was that he cares about his merchandise. We wanted to get a toy for an older, more reserved dog, and he stopped us from getting a frisbee (he said that if he doesn't already play with them, he probably won't start now, so don't waste the money) and then he gave some suggestions that might fit (which were treats and still less than we would have spent on the frisbee).

Long story short, they're not just in it for your money. They're in it because they really care about animals and they want to help owners treat their best friends they way they should be treated. I'd make the commute from San Jose just because of the service. 5 stars and keep it up!

Friendly people and they have what I need - what more do you need from a Pet Supply shop? Oh. a dedicated 10min only parking spot right next to their shop that I'm always able to snag! I actually moved to the sunset from the richmond a few months ago but this will forever be my one stop pet shop. : They have a great selection of dog food, treats, toys, shampoo/conditioner. The owner always gives my pup a little treat when I come in. My dog eats Orijen, and they actually offer a customer loyalty program which is great!
