I absolutely love this place! The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the place is always spotless and immaculately organized. They have an impressive selection and are happy to order anything they don't have in stock. Browsing this place is a treat for me and my pup!

Been coming here for the 6 years I've lived in the neighborhood. I've since moved further away from their store but go out of my way to shop here. Family run business who are extremely helpful and friendly. They always have a great selection at good prices. Highly recommend!

The shop is great, they have quality pet supplies and the couple that runs it is incredibly friendly. I love the pet portraits in the window too. You can see all the neighborhood dogs pull in the direction of the store when they're walking past because they know there are treats inside.

They do such a better job of having what is needed, when it's needed than those big chains. You can tell the owners keep a close eye on their store and are able to predict need. Lovely store with lovely people and a real neighborhood treasure!

This place is a gem! Chris and Stephanie are small business owners with giant hearts. They are on a first-name basis with most of their customers - and ALL of their customers' pets. Love Thy Pet is like family to me!

This is a well stocked neighborhood store that keeps pricepoints competitive pays close attention to customer trends. They will special order for you, as well. love it here! I only wish they were open earlier. Many mornings I have trekked down to petsmart because LTP wasn't open, yet.

Love Thy Pet offers higher quality pet food than any other in the downtown Brooklyn area (but this is in Gowanus) the shop had a huge assortment of both dog and cat food and one of the owners even offered my dog free house-made dog treats which my dog really enjoyed! The lady who helped me was also very lnowledgable about the selection they offered and had some suggestions for me due to her extensive background!

Adorable place for pets. Every Halloween and Christmas you can have your pet's picture taken with the great pumpkin and Santa, respectively. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They sell organic pet food and treats as well as clothing, and other pet supplies. They're a treasure.

I'm fairly new to the area, and this shop was recommended to me by a fellow dog walker I ran into. Love Thy Pet is a smaller shop with a welcoming feel to it. Reasonably priced, and a very personable shop owner always making sure to give my dog a treat on the way out. I asked for a dog food recommendation my first time visiting the shop, and I have used that brand ever since. It's not a common brand, which may have something to do with why I go back so frequently. Overall, friendly, affordable shop. I take pride in supporting this small business rather than large corporation franchises.

It was quite possibly the best pet store I've ever been in. I wish that we had one of these where I live however we were visiting but picked up lots of great items for our pets.

This is the best pet store I have ever patronized. I am so happy that they are in the neighborhood. Not only are they well stocked with everything you could possibly need for your pet, the owners truly care about your pet. And if that's not enough, they have free photo shoots for holidays (and a chance to appear in their calendar and on custom treat bags - how cute is that?) an annual Halloween party with treats for people and dogs, etc. etc. for Brooklyn's pet set who understand why it's all so important! This is a wonderful local pet store. Owners are very friendly and helpful. You can tell they Really care about their customers. I rather give my business to a great local store like this one. Also the store cat is awesome!

I was hoping to pick up some cat food on my way home. It was 17 minutes to 8pm, which means this store was closing in 17 minutes. Apparently, that was too close to closing because when I walked in and said "hello" to the old man behind the counter, he said "What do you want? We're closing" in an extremely hostile manner. Really? 17 minutes to 8pm and that's your response?

I understand he's old and was probably on his feet too long but that is absolutely no excuse to be hostile to a customer. Fortunately, the pet supply store on Court St. is friendly and welcoming to ALL their customers.

The owners are too cute and so sweet. Every time they ask me if I need help finding something, the answer is always yes and they always end up having what I need! From kitten tooth brushes to wheat grass for pets to hairball medicine. My cats always love the little toys i buy here too. This place always inspires me to support local businesses because these are the types of places that make a neighborhood special!

This is the best pet store in NYC. The inventory is well stocked with top quality products (eg, acana, zignature, taste of the wild, etc.), prices are fantastic, and the owners/employees are extremely knowledgable, unpretentious, and helpful. Highly recommend to all pet owners in the five boroughs.

The guy, the cat, the store, the goods - this place is top notch. You can just tell that this place is all about quality. Definitely feel free to ask questions because you'll learn a lot of background info and make an informed choice. This place is seriously awesome!

Love Thy Pet is the greatest pet store in the whole borough of Brooklyn, Chris and Stephanie are the most loving and giving animal people to own a business. Their wonderful events promote the community spirit that used to be so much a part of the neighborhood.

The best local pet store. Period. Friendly owners, who genuinely care about animals and their well being. The store cat Mr. Menow is a real celebrity too, always wanting to be pet and loved at the counter! Support local businesses and shop here.

We come here at least once a month to get cat food. We've also gotten cat toys and treats on several occasions. They have an amazing selection of high quality pet food and the staff is helpful and very knowledgeable about the products they're selling.

Wow, how much can I say about these folks that hasn't already been written? We're about to get a new puppy in a month, so we went to go check out this place in Carroll Gardens because of all the positive Yelp reviews. SUPER GLAD WE DID. The couple who run the store are amazing, spent about an hour with us answering questions, showing us good products, telling us what to stay away from, and even showing us their annual calendars and holiday parties for animals! Chris and his wife are truly good people who care about animals; you can tell from the first moment you start talking to them. We'll definitely be giving them our business from now on. Thanks again you two!

Ok so I guess I'll be another one to write a positive review. I just love the fact a small business cares so much about their products and prides themselves on personal service. How cool is that? I think it's important for all of us to support local businesses so we don't have a Starbucks on every corner so I'm glad Love Thy Pet makes it so easy. Went in there with a small group of people, I wanted to get a chew toy for my friends dog and the staff is really friendly and super helpful, not pushy at all.

I was amazed on their selection and I could tell the owner really love animals which is an obvious plus. You can bring your pet in too which is fun for them and I guess the people as well, makes it more enjoyable to shop when you see a cute dog with it's owner in an isle. ' If you're in the area, stop by, you'll be happy you did.

This place is wonderful. The people there genuinely love animals and they stock high quality food, treats, and other supplies. I highly recommend. My little dog Bella is often fearful in public and they were so kind and gentle with her, offered her some treats which she happily accepted. Before I knew it she was no longer shaking but wagging her tail and happily sniffing around. Definitely bring your dog shopping with you.

I stumbled upon this gem when I moved into the neighborhood and I recommend it to everyone. From the moment you walk in, the owners are super friendly and very helpful. It is obvious that every person who work there genuinely cares about animals. I often ask for treat/food/toy advice and have never been steered wrong. They carry hard-to-find, specialty foods as well as more mainstream items and, for a smaller store, they have a pretty good selection. You want to shop here. Your pets want you to shop here. My guys love the Christmastime Santa photoshoot, too!

Hands down the best pet supply store I have been to in NYC/Brooklyn- and Ive been to many. They only sell quality food, treats, toys, supplies, etc and they are SO helpful. You can tell that the husband and wife that run this store LOVE what they do. There are several pet stores that are much closer to me that have larger selections of [overpriced and rather crappy] pet supplies but the owners of Love Thy Pet really do their research on what they carry in their store.

They only carry the best, they listen to customers feedback and their prices are the fairest Ive come across. From the outside the store doesnt look like much but its definitely worth checking out. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I love this pet store. the owners are SO nice and extremely helpful. Ernie always gets lots of complimentary cookies. They also work w/ Sean Casey shelter and hold adoption events and are planning on holding doggie weddings/civil unions in the fall! umm.amazing!
