Total waste of time. First, no AC, wonder how the dog feels. Lousy customer service. Second, They don't take responsibility for the misinformation they give out. Such as: how long will it take? And blame the customer. And to really stick it to the customer, they charged $70 for a bath. Can you give negative stars? A black hole? Not a good choice. And unpleasant at that.

Updated review- my last review was 3 years ago so I wanted to add that Victor the groomer at Happy Paws continues to beautiful groom our 5 year old Goldendoodle (Pooka) as well as our 10 year old Malti-poo (Pippa). Victor always asks what kind of cut we are looking for & he LISTENS! Both dogs leave looking like they are ready for a magazine fashion shoot!

I've been taking my two Poms here for about a year now, and I refuse to go anywhere else. The staff is helpful and friendly, and most importantly, the groomers are phenomenal. Lydia and Ruby are SO good at their jobs. My boyfriend and I now take our miniature schnauzer here too, and we couldn't be happier with the final result when we go to pick him up. 100% would recommend.

NEVER bring your cat there to be groomed! I specifically asked to have my cat groomed just a little bit shorter then I usually do (I have been here 4 times) NOT a tiger cut, I SPECIFICALLY said to the guy at the desk. NOT a tiger cut. I went to pick her up and they completely shaved her.here I am two weeks later, I have had to bring my cat to the vet because they cut her and it is infected.when I went to the store to speak to the manager.they took zero responsibility for any of this and tried to blame me! The customer!.Please do not take your cat or dog to be groomed there.terrible service, and worst of all this has costed me a small fortune!

Way overpriced ($72 with tax) for what we got (just a basic bath/brush/expressing/nails). Didn't even do an adequate job on my dogs nails. My dog is a recent rescue with long quicks because no one had cut her nails for a long time/they grew out. Happy Paws kinda trimmed them but I can see where they 100% could've gone a little further AND they left the nails with a really jagged edge so now they are now really sharp and hurt.
I wouldn't have minded if it was closer to $50, but I can do the same bath/brush myself and get my vet to do expressing/nail trim for so much cheaper. I chose a groomer because I thought they would do a more thorough job. Really sad and disappointed.

Its unfortunate as I've never felt compelled to write a review, but I felt the need to share my experience and say beware. I have been taking my 3 long haired cats to get groomed for well over 5 years at happy paws. Recently the last few visits have been an issue. Mainly relating to being accused of bringing in a broken carrier. Let me back track, happy paws is literally 4 blocks from my house so mainly for convenience we have taken our cats to get their biannual groom.
There have been numerous incidences with each of our visits. 1st incident after two years of service was we took our cat to get their regular groom: wash and blow out. we picked them up and they are shaved completely naked, Like how? Second incident the cat is picked up from a full groom and is covered in literally diarrhea, third they broke the zipper to my brand carrier.
All three occasions happy paws made right. today we go pick up the cat and was told we sent a broken carrier. ( carriers that are only used twice a year since 2019 to bring the cats to happy paws). Which is nearly impossible as the bottom part of the carrier if broken would be have never supported the weight of my 15 lb Maine coon. instead of offering to correct this, happy paws manager continually responds, "I don't know what to tell you". he then says he has footage of the carrier just breaking, I then ask to see it. he tells me he'll send it to me in a few days, then as conversation continues it turns into a week and I'm busy now and won't get to it. then proceeds to say he is taken aback as to say how dare I question him regarding his word that the carrier just broke.
The zipper appears to have been forcefully pulled. I mean, I'm seeing a trend here. The manager Allen needs help in customer service and in keeping long time customers. He should also either show the footage if he is in fact at no fault. The carrier, with 5k Amazon review is not my issue, my issue is being accused of bringing in a broken carrier and then having the audacity to flip the script as though I did something wrong. like dude I brought the 2 cats in with 2 carriers and left with 2 cats and 1 carrier.
In short, I'd rather find a new groomer whose interest is in creating a relationship and has integrity to speak the truth. All of this and that could be avoided if he just showed the footage. Let's see if he'll send me the footage, I think not. Failing at customer service.

When someone calls you a liar and a irresponsible pet parent, yes I will curse you the f$!? out! Your staff refused to acknowledge that their might have been an error in communication and that is where the problem started. When I told the gentleman with the tips that I had called the day before and confirmed his exact words to me were, "that is not true as Nathan was on staff and he would have relayed that Information to me." Let's not skip over the fact that despite the fact that two dogs were scheduled you only had one on the books.
As for threatening your staff, that is laughable! I said that Quincy was an asshole because the dismissive look on his face and statement that I was an unfit pet parent was the problem. Like I said to them "why the f/@" would I travel from the Bronx without the vaccine record if I had been told it was missing. I showed them both proof on my phone that I called the store the day before (as you guys do not have a formal confirmation process).
Guess your staff left a little out of that conversation as well. If your staff is too incompetent to tell the customer what they need that is on you. Who walks around with their pets' vaccine cards?! As stated, you need not worry about my darkening the doorstep of your establishment and have advised my friends to do the same. Happy Paws can go kick rocks!
Have a nice life! If you are looking for a reputable groomer where the staff treats you with dignity and respect, as well as actually confirms appointments (rather than having to do so yourself), might I suggest Biscuits and Bath. PS I find it laughable that your employees said I threatened them. As for your staff suggesting to call the vet, I call bullshit on that!
All they said it was not their responsibility to remind me to vaccinate my dogs, which was not the issue. Once again, even in your response you failed to acknowledge any wrongdoing on the part of your establishment, which explains why your staff behave the way they do!

Not sure what has happened to this place. I have had my cat groomed with a lion cut here a few times and it came out great. Today, after providing a reference picture of my cat to the groomer and discussing it--he even asked me to text it to him--it came out totally botched. The mane was taken off entirely! I called to see what happened. The manager admitted that the cut didn't look at all like the reference picture but didn't offer any way to make it right, no refund or discount off future service - nothing. he said the service was done and it was just a matter of preference.
He said he's gotten bad haircuts in the past and doesn't expect any discount or money back when that happens. I know mistakes happen, but there was no accountability whatsoever. You can look at the pics and be the judge.

Me and my husband bring my 2 cats for nails trimming, Allen is super helpful, we went there after the groomer left but he willing to teach us how to trim cats nails at home. He turns our nightmares into a sweet dream. We're really thankful. Also, the pet store offer a great selection for cats, we love this place;

Lydia made my golden retriever's feathers look soft and fresh. He's been so soft to the touch for three days now. We were pleasantly surprised from the start, as instead of acting scared and nervous of being left in a new place, Waffles immediately followed her into the grooming area. She called him a sweetheart and gave him the love and attention we know he deserves.

Happy Paws is more like Bleeding Paws! Noticed after 2 days my poor dog, after a grooming here, had severe damage to his front paws! I first felt 2 deep cut lines with my hands, which I assume are from the grooming clippers. It got worse so I had to take him to the vet, and that's when I was informed from the Vet what this was. Do not take your babies here!

I took my dog to happy paws for a nail trim. Didn't notice he was bleeding til we got home so I called and complain, the lady in front desk told me it was normal. It's not my dog's first nail trim experience and I know for sure this was not normal! I would be fine if they confess to me from the beginning and apologize but they didn't!
One of they nail looks like it's not even trim at all! Didn't expect a professional groomer would make that happen, I could have done better than her. Never taking my dog there again!

I came in today for a groom with Lydia, and she was incredible! A few things to note, I have a 5 year old cockapoo who is a dream - but an absolute tyrant at the groomer. She didn't even seem to bat an eye, and he came out looking AMAZING! Price is nothing out of the ordinary for NYC, and well worth the $$. Fitz and I will be back!

I have been coming to Happy Paws for about 10 years and I have always been satisfied with the grooming and the day care services they provide for my dog. You can tell that they definitely are animal lovers here and take a special interest in making sure that my dog is happy. I definitely recommend their services and their products. Thank you.

I asked for my dog to be groomed I specifically ask for him to look cute. The groomer asked me cute or short you can't to both. I said cute and short it's been done before at an other establishment. He said he will try. bro it looked like they only trimmed his nails gave him a bath and brushed his hair forward and gave my dog bangs. I don't even think they cut his hair. This place is a joke. I will never come back here. How are you guys still open?

I had not gone here before but Im glad I did. Victor groomed my baby gurl Lucy for the first time and what a great job. She came back to me nice and fast and squeaky clean a big fluff ball. Shes usually very scared and hates grooming. Im her emotional support human LOL for her anxiety. Thanks Victor and the gals at the front desk. Ive found my new groomer for my toy poodle. Poodles are not easy to groom they take time and my sweet girl looked like a million bucks when I picked her up. She was calm relaxed and if she could speak she would say thanks mom for my mini spa day.

I've been using Happy Paws for the last two years for grooming. Victor does a fabulous job on my two dogs. I have one Toy Poodle named Blue and one Bichon Frise named Jax. Victor always takes his time and cuts their hair exactly the way I want. Victor pays very close attention to detail making sure each groom is perfect. People on the street always compliment how clean and beautiful my dogs look after he grooms them.
When it's time for their grooming both my dogs start jumping and get so excited to see Victor. He not only grooms them very well, but knows how to handle animals. I've never seen my dogs warm up to anyone that is grooming them. It makes me feel great that I don't have to worry, and that they are in great hands with Victor!

I've been taking my Golden Retriever to Happy Paws for grooming for about two years now. We are so lucky that we found Lydia - she is the best there is. She is always punctual and her cuts are the best we've had in Manhattan. She never rushes and takes fantastic care of my dog. My dog is a little bit anxious but Lydia is wonderful during the drop off process.
She also makes sure that I receive a call from the front desk when there is about 30 minutes left to the cut so that my dog doesn't have to wait for me to arrive. Lydia always takes the time to discuss my dog's hair and whatever her needs are prior to grooming rather than just assuming what I want done. She is so personable and my dog absolutely adores her.
Sometimes I even get pictures and updates while she is being groomed! People are constantly stopping me in the street to ask who cuts my dog's hair - Lydia is just that good!

This place has a decent amount of clothing options and dog beds. They however did not have any fleece options for the cold or onzies which I think is crucial for the legs in the winter of New York. The smell is a little strong in here towards the back right of the store but it is a dog store after all that houses dog food as well as acts as a doggie day car day and night.
They charge $35 for 6hrs and they provide tours as well as more information via website and phone. Also I went in looking for nutro and they only carried a few brands in this store They did not have much for a traveling dog accessories wise but they do have a decent amount of traveling soft shell kennels and bags for on the go. Sherpa is a great brand approved by airlines and they have that in store as well. Brittney was very helpful she ran the cash register but always was very knowledgeable about all the product carried. All in all they were very helpful and it was nice to see the selection carried in store. I would come back.

Our Dog loved her stay at Happy Paws and we were really impressed with the service. The Puppy Cam was perfect for checking up on our dog and we were really happy with how the carer's looked after her & gave her so much attention. Allen looked after our cat too and went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. This place is great and I highly recommend for anyone who needs trustworthy and reasonably priced pet care.
