Thea is the best groomer in town! I wouldn't take my dog, Charlie, anywhere else. All staff is great and extremely helpful. They know Charlie gets nervous going into a crate after being groomed, so are incredible about immediately calling me so I can pick him up. Would highly recommend Townhouse Pet Care to everyone!

My pup gets his nails trimmed here and it is always a great experience.

My last appointment with these guys was months ago but still, to this day, my experience with them pops back into my head and so I realize I've let them get away with something if I don't say something. When I picked up my dog from his appointment, I was met by the groomer and the receptionist who told me because the matting was so bad, he was thrashing around, biting and it took 3 people to groom him.

I was mortified and apologized profusely (I should also mention I was very visibly pregnant) and said I would proactively work on keeping him brushed out between grooms. They also recommend he be sedated for his appointments. I waited for the hostility to lift after I showed I was cooperative and it just didn't. I was being stared down, and told they would have to fine me for his bad behavior.

The bullying was like something out of high school. Really, really weird. I had never had this kind of review for Jackson before- the 'extreme' matting or the anxiety/ aggressiveness. (I noticed when I dropped him off just how anxious he was which denotes a previous bad experience with them and I was already worried about leaving him.) I decided to try another groomer the next time, to get a second opinion and wrote to them ahead of time telling them of this experience and that if they, too, felt Jackson should be sedated I would do that in the future.

They saw Jackson and said they couldn't believe I had been told that. They said he was in perfect shape and that he had been well behaved. They sang his praises. Really bizarre, awful experience and to have had to go through it while obviously pregnant was merciless. Beware.

I'm so happy to find Townhouse for getting my cats's nails trimmed! Staff is great, and $15 for a nail trim is a good price! It's super easy to use their website to book appointments!

My long time vet in NW now makes you pay for an full office visit ($75) just for a claw trim. I googled around and found Townhouse Pet Care and took my cat Louie in for a claw trim today. We were in and out in 10 minutes. Staff is great, love being able to book online, and I love the price- just $15.00. I'm so happy to have found out about this place, will definitely be bringing both my cats in their "pawdicures" in the future! Highly recommend Townhouse!

Been going here for years. They are respectful of my wishes, have reasonable pricing for high quality work, and the wait times are shorter than comparable grooming spots so I don't have to wait three months for an appointment.

We used Townhouse day boarding for the past 7 weeks while our kitchen remodel was underway and to keep Max safe and away from contractors coming in/out of the house while away at work. All the staff there are very friendly and helpful and we were very comfortable leaving him in capable hands. It was also an opportunity to get him some socialization with other people and dogs since he joined our family during the pandemic. I really appreciate the service provided and how easy it was to get him setup and days reserved. Well done!

They took a very anxious and sometimes bitey rescued Chihuahua and clipped her nails in record time, and she came out smiling!

Great place with wonderful stuff. They handle my scared and anxious foster dog with so much patience and kindness.

We felt our 5 year old Mini Aussie's haircut was a good deal. My wife did tell me that when she dropped our dog off, and was asked what was to be done, she asked for any mats behind ears to be taken care of. As I was driving him home after picking him up I was petting his head and noticed a mat still behind his ear. We were bummed that wasn't taken care of as she would told it would be. But otherwise satisfied!

Townhouse is wonderful! So glad we found them to groom our puppers!

I really wish I could give this business a higher rating. I booked an appointment and about two weeks before the scheduled appointment I went on line to their site and saw that the appointment was cancelled. I called them to inquire as to why. They said the groomer wasn't available. I then asked for a new appointment. They gave me one within a week.

The only issue is my dog was in heat. They didn't think that was a problem. WRONG. When I went to pick up my poodle. All they did was bathe her and comb her out. No cut. I just wished they would have informed me. I bathe my own dog and brush her out. I was there for the cut.

Our two dogs receive excellent care and top-notch grooming at Townhouse. I am so glad they are open, so competent and so friendly. Even our stupid little requests for changes in appearance are listened to and followed. Way to go, Townhouse!

Honestly shocked with how they handled my dog, who I brought in for his first ever nail trim. I made a point of letting them know it was his first time when I made the appointment, and they assured me they do this all the time and would be easy on him. Boy was that not the case. They wordlessly grabbed him and took him in the back, and after a few minutes of them wrestling (literally) with him and by the time they had him pinned up against the wall, the (very friendly, to be fair) person at the front desk went and pulled him out.

They told me he was "too nervous" to finish. I mean yeah, if I was treated so roughly and discourteously at my barber, I'd be a little skittish too. If your dog is comfortable being manhandled and jostled, I don't have any doubts this would be a good place to go. But I would absolutely not recommend it for any first timers, or anyone concerned about a dog that may need accommodations. Very disappointed.

I love this place, but more importantly, Poundcake loves it! Their prices are amazing for this service. How do you do it? I've been bringing Poundcake to Townhouse for about a year and here's what I love. When she needs the de-shedding brush out, they are thorough. The last time we were there, about a month ago, it wasn't quite shedding season, so when I said "if she needs it, de-shed".

She didn't need it, so they didn't do it. Amazing! Now it's shedding season. I know because there's bulldog hair all over my carpet, clothes and car. I trust Townhouse to thoroughly address it and send us home with a report card (stating how well behaved PC was and how much they enjoy her), a pretty bandana around her giant neck and smelling so good, like fresh coconut. Her nails are always perfectly trimmed and no blood (Petco regularly cut into the quick). Poundcake loves her spa day

After several failed bath attempts, I caved and found a reputable place to take my dog. She was so fresh and so clean! They give out cute report cards at the end to tell you how they did. I'll be back!

This place is not equipped to handle the volume of people they schedule. It is about a months wait to get an appointment. I've scheduled an appointment twice now and each time the groomer called out sick. Their best alternative to cancelling on me TWICE over the span of 3 months was to place me on a "priority list" which has the same 20-30 day wait as when I scheduled my my first appointment.

The second time they canceled they couldn't even give me a possible date for my next appointment. This is not a critique on their services but their management. If you cancel twice on a customer you should not make them wait months to reschedule.

We had a wonderful experience here with our dog Ruby! Our groomer Stephany was kind and gentle from The minute we walked in and she did a great job! Gave us exactly what we asked for with the hair cut- just a little clean up, but still fluffy- and all other general services were perfect too. Our dog is almost 13 and can be pretty anxious, but she was in great spirits when we picked her up. Some of the other reviews made me a little nervous, but I found everything to be above and beyond. Highly recommend! They also gave our pup a super cute little bandana :

I've been coming here for 2+ years now, and on the second dog. Kathy is so great! They smell so clean and fresh, facilities are clean, staff is really friendly and responsive. The report card at the end of the day is a nice touch. Do check them out - I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Prices up- quality down. My sister recommend this place when we got our puppy in November. They have never done a spectacular job on his nails, but It's been good enough. Both my partner and I would comment to one another about them not really trying very hard. They would blame it on the dog. Come on, it's literally your job to know how cut the a dogs nails.

Now it's nearly impossible to get an appt at a convenient time unless you book a month in advance. And they have raised their prices claiming it would improve their services and help their employees. That has not been our experience. We couldn't get in this month because apparently they only have one nail tech and they were on vacation. So we tried out Petsmart and it was a much better experience. I would like to support local so we will give it a few more months. Hopefully they are just going through a rough patch.

We've been taking our dog to Townhouse Pet Care for a while now, they usually do a pretty good job. Our dog is very anxious, so they give him some CBD oil to calm him down. Before our last appointment, I would've probably given this place 4 stars. However, today we scheduled an appointment at 7:30 AM, and apparently they are closed from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Nobody told us this, so they closed and kept our dog for 4 HOURS after he was done. Our dog gets very anxious and this did not help. It is unfortunate because they are pretty good groomers, but we will be switching to a different one.

We've taken our dog to Townhouse multiple times for grooming and boarding. Recently our poor dog came home totally infested with fleas. This happened once before after grooming with Townhouse and they were very responsive. The manager helped us with a special medication that cleared up the fleas very quickly. This time they offered no help what so ever, deigned it wash their fault, and the manager never returned our calls.

These wonderful people at Townhouse Pet Care have always served me and those I have referred well. My doggies always look so beautiful when I pick them up and the staff goes above and beyond to see that the pets get everything needed as well as treated like they are their own. Also, they are never hesitant to welcome more stubborn dogs and seem to have a way with making sure even the most anxious of pets has a pleasant experience.

I highly recommend Townhouse Pet Care, it's a great place, with a great staff, and do they do great work. They are just good at what they do and you won't be disappointed. Now, if they only did parrots I would rate 6 stars, but 5 will have to do; Thanks Townhouse!

Everytime I have come here, my dog leaves looking the cutest! They have a booked schedule for a reason.their groomers are amazing! They give you a behavior report after every session, which is incredibly helpful.

Mediocre haircuts. Poor customer service. No parking. Bad time management. We've been coming here for a couple of years after our former, great groomers retired. The groomers at towne house almost always ignore the requested cut style and just do whatever they feel like in the moment. This happens even when supplied with a photo and talked through.

They schedule pickup times but the dogs are never ready on time resulting in waiting around for hours or making multiple trips. They over schedule their groomers to allow for cancelations and then enforce strict drop off time policies when those cancelations don't happen. Another confusing point is, the cost of the grooming seems to fluctuate with no rhyme or reason even though the service is the same and by the same I mean consistently bad.

I want to start by saying it is not in my heart to be cold during a pandemic. I am understanding that as we integrate back with life that we all need to be compassionate and accommodating to businesses. That being said, I am disappointed in the customer care support at Townhouse Pet Care. I scheduled an appointment for my dog, his first one, and it was about a month wait.

When the date came around we had to cancel, as our dog was sick. Townhouse was not able to get us in any sooner than another month out. The person offered us a Sunday appointment at 8:30am, to which we took despite the inconvenience of the time (weekend and all). My partner went to take him to his appointment and they claimed we did not in fact have an appointment and that this happens at time.

They could not get us in. Needless to say, we woke up at 8am on Sunday only to be told our reservation did not exist. I tried to call, several times. and then several times more to remedy this error as clearly it was their mistake. No one answered, there was no voicemail and no one called us back in efforts to remedy the situation.

I took time off work to get my dog groomed, arrived early and had a list of things to get done. Then the lady at the counter begins to tell me what they can't do because of the "10 minute" appointment. The problem is, if the appointments are just short term, then it should prompt you that 3 things are allowed. then I don't have to choose what 3 things I want done. Ugh! Finding a new place.

My Beau loved going there. I called halfway through the grooming session to see how he was and they gave me a very detailed answer on everything that had happened. It put my mind at ease to know that Beau's first session was a success. Plus he came out soooo soft and clean!

Beware! They will add on some random fees when you pick up. Horrible customer service. There are sooo many better options. Go elsewhere!

Fantastic animal people! The staff at Townhouse Pet Care have consistently been friendly and super helpful. The old dog actually gets excited when he figures out we're going for a visit. They are always very nice and super accommodating of his needs which I massively appreciate. Those who work the front desk like Alex are very good people and seem quick to help to fix any issues from setting an appointment to billing. The facility itself is always very clean and welcoming. The pups love the treats they sell a lot. They've definitely earned a customer for life.

My girl Milly went in a hot mess and came out a whole new, insanely happy, dog! I was even a little bit late which was no problem for them. Highly recommend these folks, Stephany especially, they work fast and Beautifully Love the report card feature and the bandana as well!

Our new puppy is an anxious one and we came here to see if they could cut her nails after the vet was unable to do so. Staff is EXTREMELY nice but was disappointed they didn't have the setup to do a trim. Found that Petco has a hammock we can put her in so she won't squirm as much but would have expected a groomer to have similar devices at their disposal.

Townhouse is amazing! I have a 6 month old bullmastiff and she is STRONG. I feel like some places view her as difficult from the get go just based on her size. I felt immediately comfortable as soon as I walked in - everyone was so friendly. Our groomer was Sawyer. I loved the notes they gave at the end and their patience and kindness with a first-timer who was afraid of water.

My puppy is so clean and I could tell she was happy and safe, all of the boxes checked. I had some anxiety about leaving her since we had never done a bath and I didn't know how it would go but now I'm so happy I picked Townhouse. The price is more than fair - it was only $40. I'm already looking into using them as a boarding option off this one experience alone and getting her on a normal schedule of coming here for grooming.

Hello! I brought my dog, Hippy(Samoyed) in to get groomed to brush out some mats he had. For those who don't know what a Samoyed is, a double coat breed that isn't supposed to be shaved. I've heard so many horror stories of having someone shaving their Samoyed even though they'd been clear not to do that very thing. It's about as horrible as anything you can think of with that breed, it causes skin issues, bad and incomplete hair regrowth and more.

All that to say, I was NERVOUS bringing my pup in. I called around to find someone who knew about getting mats out and a bit about this breed. The receptionist suggested a nice lady named Stephanie who knew about getting mats out. And oh my gosh. WE LOVED HER. She knew about the breed, she took to my instructions so well("don't cut anything until you've called me please!" I was so nervous).

She took ten minutes to walk through a consult before the grooming started, promised me a quick phone call once she'd had him dried from the bath and could better evaluate the extensiveness of the matting. She did all that and MORE. She called me and let me know that his skin was a bit sore and she was rinsing with cold water to help the irritation of the skin, and so much more.

She walked me thru three hours of what she had done that far, it was so kind and thorough. She was clear in her communication and kind. When I came to pick my dog up, he seemed pretty attached to this girl. and that is saying something considering he is high strung and anxious! If you need special needs for a groomer, this is the place to go. I could not have been happier.

Always speak up and tell them what you want, just as you would if you were getting a haircut yourself! So accommodating, good natured and overall I was so pleased. My dog seemed to be in the least amount of stress there and it really made me happy. Stephanie the groomer is amazing!

Everyone working here was nice enough, but I don't think they were prepared for my dog's visit, nor were they knowledgeable about the breed. It was my puppy's first time at a groomer, but probably his hundredth time being brushed and dematted because he's a long haired dog. I told them they can shave mats on his underside, but do not trim or shave anything that will show up in photos since we have a special event this week.

My dog is a bearded collie. They buzzed his whole beard off that he's been growing for months. The facility was clean and well staffed, and the staff was very friendly and polite. I just wish they had been more communicative and prepared for the visit. I am willing to spend a lot of money at a groomer because I know that my dog has a lot of hair and it will take a lot of time and patience. I won't be coming back and instead find a groomer that has with experience with show dogs.

The overall experience was seamless and easy! Our groomer was Bri. I called them on Sunday and was able to come in the following Wednesday (with lots of availability!) The online registration & booking of appointments was super simple and helpful. I did the bath & brush out for my lab/pit mix. This included a full bath, brush out, nail trim, hygienic expression (anal glands), air dry and ear cleaning!

I strongly encourage anyone/everyone to call in and ask for a quote! You'll be blown away. You even receive a cute doggy report card at the end. Mija was "doggone great" and "nervous" lol. Her coat/skin/nails/eyes/mouth/ears/anal sacs etc were all checked as "appeared normal." I couldn't be happier. She smells so good and was so happy afterwards. I've sent their online website to so many friends & family already. We can't wait to come back :)

My dog has never had her nails professionally cut, so I was pretty nervous bringing her in since it's always been a struggle to cut them at home myself. As a note- my pup is very friendly, but she's always been deathly afraid of the nail clippers/nail filer and she'll nip at whatever I'm holding. I popped in without an appointment on a weekday afternoon and there was plenty of street parking around.

I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and they took my very excitable pupper in as I anxiously waited. In about 5 minutes they were finished and they said my pupperoo did great! I actually got my first nail trim for free with a yelp check-in, but I will without a doubt be back as a regular! They also give you a punch card where your 11th nail trim is free!

I tried out a few groomers when I moved to Portland a few years ago, and Townhouse Pet Care has been my absolute favorite! Even though I moved across town, I still bring my dog in here for her regular spa day because I know she is in such good hands. Everyone at Townhouse Pet Care clearly loves animals, and even though my dog can be a bit timid, she always comes out happy and her report card shows she feels safe and comfortable here. I can't recommend Townhouse Pet Care enough!
