Not friendly service upon inquiring about being a new customer. They may do beautiful work but I'll never know! My aging dog cannot get in and out of our suv anymore so I was excited to see this as a potential solution. Sadly they weren't interested in taking on new customers. I wouldn't bother reaching out, fox valley vet is still a wonderful and caring groomer if you're local to Ottawa. Excellent service and they actually care about dogs! Cannot recommend them enough

Took our mini golden doodle here for a haircut and were pleasantly surprised with how affordable the services were. They did a great job on our Lily and we would definitely go back.

Friendly service, decent prices. Loved that our dog is able to socialize with other dogs while he waits for his grooming instead of locked in the kennels.

I've taken my dogs to Jeff/Mutley Crew for over 10 years. He is very knowledgeable & patient with them. My latest dog is a handful yet they did the best they could with a puppy who has never been groomed (hand stripped) & who is rambunctious. Jeff was 100% honest on what he could do & shockingly is willing to have him back - my surprise as my pup is difficult (nippy, doesn't sit still).

We recently took our dog here for a grooming because we just moved to the area. When the dog was returned to us he was still wet. They claimed they weren't able to get under him? Which is unacceptable in my opinion. My dog is very calm and I've never had this issue with any other groomer in 11 years. I had to come home and blow dry him myself.

His ears were also not cleaned. Overall, this place is affordable but I would rather drive the extra 15 minutes and pay the extra 35 dollars to have him groomed properly and fully dried.

Great place to have dogs/cats groomed. Very well set up. Some of the doors could use some Improvement. Products are fantastic.

I love this place and the people who work here. My dog had double knee surgery and I was desperate to find a day care that would accommodate her while she healed and I worked during the day. They created a separate place for her to rest and stay put during the day. They also gave her the attention she needed while running a business and attending to the other dogs.

They did not have to do this but they did. I also take her to get groomed (which comes out perfect every time) and have been a customer for years. I love them and what they do. Highly recommend and are grateful they were there when I needed it the most.

Called today about how to set up my dog. Couldn't get any answers about how to register a dog other than they aren't taking new clients. No waitlist, no info about when that may change, or even how or when to check. Maybe some new phone training protocols would make it a better experience for potential /future clients.

This place is incredibly hit or miss. We've had a handful of great grooms in the past, but today my dog came out a mess. I'm not very concerned with how my dog looks - I know his fur will grow back - but he has multiple cuts, including one on his face and one on his penis. He does not have long hair on his face, so it is inexplicable to me how he would have a cut next to his eye.

I let them know at drop off that he's anxious (he's a rescue and does not like dog facilities of any kind, but is easy to handle and does not resist grooming) and to please call me as soon as the appt was finished so I could get him out of there. I called 4.5 hours later to check on him. The first call I was left on hold for ten minutes before hanging up and calling again, when I was told they were just now working on him.

Why a 10 AM appointment then? It seems to me that when I called, they threw him on a table and shaved him down as fast as they could. It is obvious from the quality of the cut and the injuries. Basically, if your dog is sensitive, skip it. I should've said something as I was leaving but I could see the stress all over his face and got him out as fast as I could. I'm so disappointed. Pet care professionals should be more mindful about welfare. It will take days for my dog to calm down from the trauma of this experience.

Just took my nervous dog Athena here for the first time. I was looking for a local boutique groomer. They took her in with extreme care, and made her feel at ease. You can really tell that they care about their work and the dogs that they take care of. I will be back. Thank you!

I had been taking my dogs to a friend who works at Petsmart for the last 10 years. Unfortunately they were not practicing proper covid safety so she quit her job in April. I kept hoping she would open a salon of her own but when I realized that wasn't happening, I started looking for a new groomer. Luckily, I think I found one! I was VERY apprehensive about taking my little pomkee to a new place since he suffers from many health ailments.

I was also nervous that they wouldn't listen to my requests and just do as they thought best. None of my concerns came to fruition! I asked them to tidy up his feet as thoroughly as they could, round out his bottom and get as much undercoat as possible. He looks just as good as he did when I would take him to my friend! Thanks guys! My one and ONLY complaint is, I wish they were willing to call people back when the dogs are done. It is kind of annoying to have to keep checking back. Other than that, I had a great experience and I will be back with all 3 of my dogs!

Paid them for years to groom my dog. Sadly she died recently so we bought a new dog and when I tried to book her in for an appointment I was curtly told "we aren't accepting new clients". I should have pointed out that as the person who pays them, I am the client. Not my dogs. That said, her complete lack of sympathy or recognition of the fact we have paid thousands over the years made me decide not to bother. Dismal client service. My dog was always terrorized when she was in there and this experience has made me wonder if I should have taken that more seriously.

Been going to muttley for 24 years. Took our first dog sadie her entire life. Did a great job then, so we took our dog shea lee for the last 8 years. Our dog looked good until the last couple years. The last time we took her she was messed up soo bad. We talked to Jeff and he said to bring her in and he would try and fix her, saying he can't put hair back. He did not say he would give us our money back. Not that it matters. Felt quality and service has been on the downside.

Terrible people, who clearly don't care about people's animals. We took our cat there to be groomed, they called the wrong number to tell us they were done. So our cat had been sitting in his carrier that he hates by the way for over an hour while we waited to hear from them. During this time our cat had pooped. I'm so glad we paid them to groom our cat so he could get covered in his own poop. Which they did nothing about. No offering to clean him up or a refund. They are horrible people who should not be trusted with your animals.

My 8 month old labradoodle suffered a nail injury during her grooming at Mutley Crew. When I called about it after she came home I called back to ask and the groomer rudely yelled at me on the phone and said "you want a bloody refund because of a broken toe nail". I wasn't even asking for a refund, I just wanted to bring it to their attention so that other dogs don't get hurt like my pet did. Don't ever send your dog here.

We've been bringing our dog here for years for nail dremel with Harry. Sadly, he has retired. We started scheduling our dog for bath and dremel ($20 total for small dogs), which is a GREAT value! It's drop off and pick-up. They usually have her for about 2 hours. We've been happy with the service and will be returning for regular grooming.

So, I have gone to this place several times, despite my better judgment. The last two times I had to take my dog back so they could attempt to fix their mistake. My dog is a Pomeranian mix, and I've never had a problem with any other groomer I've taken him to. Jeff, the owner, said that my dog's coat was the issue, which is ridiculous. Jeff printed out a picture of my dog and added notes about how I wanted him cut, AND THEY STILL COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT! I took him back today, and Jeff attempted to "fix" it. He in fact made it worse. Attached are pictures. Now tell me that it doesn't look choppy and poorly done.

Our 10 year-old cat had some terrible mats in his fur that I hadn't been able to remove. The team did an amazing, quick job brushing them out. It was really great service. I am so grateful.

I have a chow chow and an Australian Sheppard Bernese Mountain Dog mix who are obsessed with The Muttley Crew! The staff is very personable and friendly! I've taken them to a few other daycares and the first thing I always notice when I walk in is the smell - and I can tell you that Muttley Crew does not smell at all! I also really like the fact that I can drop them off in the morning for a grooming appointment and then they can hangout and play with the other dogs at daycare until I pick them up in the evening. I also love that they get a bandana or a bow with their haircuts. We will be customers for life!

1st time and they completely ruined my dog's hair. They did not listen to any instructions. They told me she would be cut short but instead shaved her. Talked to the groomer and had them write down "never pluck the ears", and they plucked them. She won't stop shaking her head. She's so depressed she won't play or eat, just lays around. I will never take her back there. I should have demanded a refund. They are so busy there they are rushing through grooming the dogs that they are not paying attention. Stay away.

We used Mutley Crew to groom our dog, Joy, for the first time last week. They did a great job! They were friendly and I could tell that they really cared for my pet. The cut was beautiful and they even put bows in her hair. I will definitely return and think everyone should give them a try. They also do not leave the dogs kenneled while they take breaks, which really was nice. Joy usually gets traumatized when she is groomed, but this time she was happy. Thanks so much!

You guys are clowns. I got my dog 6 months ago, WTF are you talking about that I just got him? He's been bathed at other, much better facilities at least once a month, without anyone needing to "sedate" him. Nobody ever made it sound like had any problems. You just let us get him with half cut toes without explanation. Not my fault your staff isn't skilled enough to handle my dog, like other facilities have been.

We took him to a new doggy day care, with cameras, and my dog gets along great with them and the staff has nothing but great things to say about him. You're about blaming the customer and the dog rather than owning the fact that the facility and staff is poor. Just look at all the photos of the dog injuries they posted. But ya, its my fault. Go F yourself

I would rate this place higher if the employees would stop smoking right next to the outdoor area which the dogs play in. I took my dog here for grooming a handful of times and each time 2-3 employees would be out smoking right next to the fence where the dogs are playing at. You also can smell the stench of the cigarette smoke as you enter and exit the building which is very unpleasant to non smokers. I no longer take my dog here due to the 2nd hand smoke exposure for her.

This morning I noticed that my dog Now HAS BRUISING on her chest! BRUISING! My dog is THREE POUNDS. THREE POUNDS There is no reason someone should have been holding her that tight. To say I am upset is an UNDERSTATEMENT. PHOTO IS ATTACHED see for yourself. You can see based on the owners comments on this yelp page that this business doesn't take responsibility for anything that they do.

He states that this is an anomaly that this happened to us it just goes to show that he can't take responsibility for his employees actions. It really isn't an anomaly there are plenty of poor reviews. I am so upset that not only they cut my BOTH of my dogs paws on almost all their toes! They also BRUISED my dog. Wow I will never ever come here again and I will be telling everyone I know to stay away. This is so wrong I can't even believe this.

My wife, son and I just moved to the area a few months ago with our 7 year old lab and finding a doggy daycare was a high priority. With our schedules and having and 3 year old, getting our dog out and playing with other dogs is very important. The staff and the accommodations were beyond helpful. They even have someone on staff who boards your pups as well. If you need a quality establishment with solid prices to give your your pet an awesome getaway -- this is it!

I have 2 little (somewhat needy) rescue dogs that haven't spent much time at doggy day care or away from me. In the past, when I've taken them to be groomed/dog care elsewhere, they've been SUPER anxious to be picked up. Not here. They are just calm as can be when I come to pick up.can tell they've had a great, happy play day. AND.very well groomed! Love this place!

My dog was old and is very calm shitzu the gal who groomed her was not even the one I made appointment with, while waiting at home I got a call she was bleeding and needs to go to vets which they paid for

Very knowledgeable. Patient, I took about 5 minutes before I could walk away without my puppy. He came back with well rounded nails (dremmel service is a few bucks extra and well worth it), a beautifully trimmed coat and he was even softer then before. They open early and stay open till 630 to accommodate busy schedules(day of grooming day care is complimentary.

Stand alone day care also available for a reasonable fee) they have small dogs in front, AstroTurf and a covered secured area in back for large dogs, medium dogs have their own spot and they even have an area for socially aggressive dogs.

I'm a professional dog trainer with crazy, high drive working breeds(Belgian Malinois, Belgian Tervuran and Pit Bull). I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else for grooming or daycare. Jeff is a fantastic groomer who always does an excellent job. Every staff member at Muttley Crew treats each dog that walks through their doors as their own.

They have a genuine love for dogs and aren't just in it for the money, which is rare in the industry. They are all very professional and knowledgeable, never steered me wrong and my dogs love it there. This is the only facility I use and recommend to my clients. Can't say enough good things about them!
