Adopting a homeless pet is a wonderful, rewarding experience. Adding a canine family member to your household is a big decision and every adopter should be prepared and committed to providing the right environment for their pet. You want this new addition to fit into your life style, so that both you and your new dog are able to enjoy your new life to the fullest!
This is a list of dogs currently available for adoption at Family Dogs New Life Shelter. We do keep this listing very current. Because we are a no kill shelter all dogs who come into our care have a safe place to live until they are adopted, so some of our residents have been in our care for months or even years.
The dogs listed here are available for adoption through Family Dogs New Life, however they are not currently at the shelter- they are staying in foster homes. During the transition from 'rescue' to forever home, dogs require love and patience. A foster family provides a nurturing environment that not only helps the rescue dog better adjust to this transition but also allows us to to learn more about each dogs personality traits, which is essential in finding the dog and adoptive family the Right Fit.
The dogs listed here are dogs who are in need of a new home but are not actually available for adoption through Family Dogs New Life shelter. These dogs belong to individuals who are no longer able to keep them. This is just our way of helping dogs find their way to a new life when we are not able to take them into our care.
Although Family Dogs New Life Shelter is not an animal sanctuary we do provide a lifelong safe-haven for a select number of dogs who have come into our care and thrive in our environment but we feel are unfit for adoption. The dogs listed here are our family. These dogs live here at the shelter, this has become their home, for one reason or another, and we love them like our own.

After having a really stressful and frustrating experience at OHS, we decided to try this place. We knew exactly which dog we wanted to visit with after researching their site. When we got there, there was one family ahead of us looking at the same dog so they told us to go enjoy the day and they'd update us in a few hours. We went to a nearby park and got the call that family didn't work out.
As soon as our girl walked, we knew she was going home with us. The staff was extremely pleasant to work with and answered all of our questions about her history. Could not have had a better experience. Highly recommend this place (just be sure to familiarize yourself with their process beforehand and their current dogs.)

This place is amazing it's not fancy but they do an amazing job with the dogs they get to know them they checked their temperament they'll tell you the straight Direct and honest opinions they have on each dog that they have up for adoption even if you don't want to adopt the dog from them they take donations online after getting my dog there I give them a couple of bucks a month whenever I can

I am forever grateful For the love and compassion Family Dogs showed my boy, Wilson. They helped him become a sweet and loving pup. When I met with them about adopting him they made absolutely certain we were right for each other. Now I live with this big goofball and am loving it. They made sure I knew what to expect with him and answered all of my puppy crazy questions. I especially appreciated the way that they ensured we would be a forever fit.

I love this place! Please adopt and support this no kill shelter! After trying for months to find a puppy, there was a group of rescued puppies at the shelter. They are only open a few days a week and you have to get there quite early (if there is a puppy you are trying to adopt) and make an appointment to meet the dog. They only allow 2-3 meetings a day for each dog.
Which I think is excellent! So thoughtful for the dog! I recommend this shelter to people looking for dogs as well as looking for volunteer opportunities! We've had Rocket for almost a year and are so grateful to Family Dogs New Life!

Wonderful, caring staff. Took great care to introduce the dog to everyone in the house, and made sure everyone was comfortable before we adopted. Gave us great resources and references for helping our new pup adjust and has offered support during the transition. We love our new puppers and couldn't be happier with the level of care and service the shelter provided. 100% recommend.
