Candy Crawford, a nationally sought after dog trainer with more than 33 years of experience, has dedicated her life to training dogs. At age 17, she began instruction with the Jackson, Mississippi Police Department for patrol and narcotics. She was initially taught by Vietnam veteran K-9 handlers there, who are considered some of the most highly skilled dog trainers in the world. The knowledge she gleaned during those early years was instrumental in molding her ability to successfully train any breed of dog at any age.

We did offer group classes for many years, and as a result we noticed that it was difficult and inconvenient for people to get home from work, get their dog in the car, especially in bad weather, travel across town, work with their dog, then drive all the way back home, and still be left with the daunting task of still having to train their dog at home.

We expected a kind, humane trainer, and Candy said all the right things when we spoke by phone. When she came to our home, she used a spiked training collar on our 50 lb dog, and when teaching him to "come" she repeatedly yanked him off his feet and about 3-4 feet through the air. This caused the spikes to break through the rubber tips and cut into the dog's neck.
When "correcting" him, she pulled him up so his front feet were off the floor, and when his tooth was caught in a link of the chain, Candy would not release him to free the tooth. At the end of the very long day (she stayed at our home from 10:20AM to 8:00PM) we had learned a few good things, but mostly to NEVER let being polite to a stranger in our home take precedence over being kind to our own family and pets.

Candy is one of the best trainers I have worked with. My first German Shepherd was trained by her. He was very aggressive but after working with Candy he was very obedient. Unfortunately, I had to adopt him out shortly after that. About a year later Candy called and said one of her dogs had a litter of puppies and she had found the perfect dog for my situation.
She brought "Blue Bling", he is now Casey Von Gunner, over and sure enough he was the perfect dog for my situation. Three years later he is still here and the best dog I have ever had. Candy cares about her clients and their dogs and is an excellent trainer.

Candy Crawford has the kindest, most gentle heart of anyone I have met. She treats her dogs like the cream of the crop. I first met her when I asked her to take in a very difficult border collie for training. When Maxie came home she was a brand new dog and very well mannered. Not long after that I needed Maxie trained to become a protection dog. Candy did that for me as well.
No abusive techniques were ever used. I later bought a German shepherd from her to work as a service dog and he's on more than one occasion, done his job. She has a great deal of knowledge and love in her soul. I'm glad we found her. She has benefited us greatly.

Candy Crawford is a Dog trainer who is highly qualified. I met Candy when I was looking for a trainer for my dog, who was a little too aggressive when I had guests in the house ( Jumping on, scratching, etc.). We had our dog Obedience trained, Candy Crawford came to our house and trained the dog with us step by step, and we haven't had a problem since. Candy Crawford is thorough, diligent, and passionate about her work.
