Critical: Quality, Reliability I hate to leave a small business a bad review but my dog came back distressed and very itchy. I ended up having to bring my dog to the vet for the itching. They're approach to holidays is very strange considering those would busy times. They're closed some and bully you for tips other.

We have used Charleston Pet Resort twice now to board our dogs and had just ok experiences. The first time both dogs came home with diarrhea and vomiting. They chalked it up to nerves which made some sense for one dog but none for the other who. They have also never had this reaction when staying at other local facilities. The second stay was this past Labor Day weekend and we were told over the phone that while we could not pick them up on Monday like we wanted to, they would not charge us for the extra day.
Since that offer was better than what our usual place had going for the holiday weekend we opted to give them a second try and cancelled our reservation with our usual place. And to be clear, my husband was also in the car on speaker when the woman on the phone mentioned we would not be charged for the extra day. When we picked the dogs up on Tuesday the bill included an extra day and night for both dogs contrary to what they originally told us.
My husband spent about 20 minutes trying to discuss the discrepancy in the rain in the parking lot but the staff on-site that day were adamant that no one would have ever told us that and essentially said we misheard her or insinuated we made it up. They did not even attempt to give us a partial refund or really apologize in any way. We get home to find out that both dogs have diarrhea again except this time no one bothered to give us a heads up.
After a phone call they confirmed this had been going on for a day or two and again blamed nerves. Both times we had to coordinate prescription medication through our vet. I have no idea what made them so sick both visits but I have to trust that they are telling me something. Because of the physical reaction alone I would not take them back, however, the billing issue was just poor customer service and in general I don't appreciate being called a liar because a staff member misspoke.

Loving environment with individualized care for each pet. The staff r extremely kind & listen to ur needs for ur pet. The accommodations r individualized to suit their needs for comfort, safety & an abundance of pampering! ( FULL DISCLOSURE: I have worked there for 5 years in the kennel & can honestly say, that my recommendation is not based on financial endorsement or personal gain of any kind. I truly love r "guests" & just enjoy sharing my experiences there with pictures & any information u might want.)

I started taking my greyhound, Elsa, to CPR in the 90s and have always enjoyed my interactions with Mary, the owner. We moved away in 2000, and I hadn't had occasion to use their services during my many trips back here in the last 20 years. I recently reconnected with Mary, and yesterday, I took my chihuahua, Lili, for a bath and nail trim. It was wonderful to see Mary again, and her daughter, Crystal, who was a little girl last time I saw her, did a wonderful job with my pup!
I will definitely board Lili with them for a trip we may be taking soon, and I will feel very comfortable leaving her there, as I always did with Elsa. They're great people with a wonderful work ethic and a deep love of all fur babies!

For five years, we trusted the people at Charleston Pet Resort with our dog. He doesn't do well with other dogs and gets really anxious around most people outside of our family, but he loved everyone at Charleston Pet Resort and was always happy to go there. They did a great job bathing him after each stay and always sent him home with a cute little bow tie.
We recently moved away from Charleston, and I just hope we can find another kennel that treats our dog the way he was treated here. I truly cannot recommend Charleston Pet Resort enough!
