Welcoming, staff. Professional, knowledgeable, caring and true animal lovers. The place is clean (spotless). The doctor performed a thought initial examination. She was knowledgeable and explained in detail how to take care of my 10 weeks old puppy along with behavior modification and diet recommendations. I'm telling all my friends about Towne South Animal Hospital, in simple words a Great place.

Dr. Mackey and her staff took very good care of my baby during his surgery, and calmed all my anxieties. Today I did a follow up on his dental surgery and the Vet said he has healed very well. Thank you Dr. Mackey and staff.

DON'T BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE! There are far better places in Shreveport! I boarded my two large dogs from Friday evening to Monday morning (because they won't let you pick up on Sundays) and I was outraged by what happened in the short amount of time. I paid extra for the "luxury" experience for my dogs which allows for 24 hour webcam, so I was able to observe what happened. Additionally, the vet clinic doesn't tell you that they will only check on the dogs during business hours (8-5:30).

One of the techs that checked on my dogs never refilled their water bowl so they went upwards of 14 hours without water. My dogs were also not feed twice daily as requested. The extra money I paid was to include off leash time for them 5ish times a day and every time they were let out they were only out a couple minutes. The maximum amount of time they were out of the run was 5 minutes on Sunday morning.

The techs took their blankets out of the room and never put them back. Also, on Monday morning they shut the webcam off. With all of this happening, the vet clinic doesn't have a contact number for over the weekends so there was nothing I could do to help my dogs.

Dr. April Mackey is the best. She takes wonderful care of my 15 year old fur baby. I wouldn't take her anywhere else.

They got me in quickly and took great care of Chester! I will definitely have them as our Vet for years to come.

Nichi was very well taken care of. I cannot imagine what could have been done to make my experience any better. Towne South Staff and Doctors are dedicated to their clients by providing a friendly and professional atmosphere. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I'm writing this as a former employee. I wish I could still be part of this amazing place! I absolutely adore the veterinarians, the staff of all departments and the owner! These people truly love animals and it shows! Each one of them love and spoil your fur baby beyond belief! Even the not so easy patients lol They have excellent facilities and equipment for veterinary care and boarding.

I would never have even had to be a former employee if my body wasn't so torn up from previous injury and could have handled the physical part of the job. I would recommend these folks to everyone! They will care for your fur baby like it was their own!

I don't think we could have better experiences with any other animal hospital or vet than we do TSAH. I recommend Dr. Mackey and Dr. Hunter every chance I get. I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and the entire team. This team is THE BEST ever! Miska loves the team too!

Wonderful care from all staff. Very clean and nice facility. Vet stayed to answer all questions and discuss in detail all concerns.

I love the people here! The doctors are amazing and take such good care of not just my pets, but me too! They call with updates and keep me informed! Best surgeons around!

Can't complain about anything when we go. We have a timid dog who has come out of her shell more and more with each visit which is great. She used to growl at every new person she would meet but now she doesn't do that anymore, and I know its because of the great staff.

My cat has needed extra care and attention for several weeks including overnight stays. The staff have been wonderful. Diagnosis swift and treatment excellent. Appointments not rushed and full explanations of diagnosis and treatment given. I highly recommend this veterinary practice.

Dr. Mackey and Dr. Hunter have always gone above and beyond to make sure that our fur baby is comfortable and well taken care of. They have taken time to explain all procedures, conditions, and complications that could potentially occur at any of our visits. Aside from the phenomenal patient care that they provide, they also go the extra mile to show so much love and kindness to our animals. I could not imagine taking our loved ones to another vet. They truly do love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend!

Dr. Hunter and the staff at Towne South are the best. We are from Texas and are so thankful for saving our Odie. He's been in the hospital for a week now and Dr. Hunter has spent countless hours trying to find a diagnosis to help Odie before it was too late. We are so thankful for her and the staff for everything they did!

On Friday, August 28, 2020, we brought my daughter's beloved companion, Bleu Cheese, in for the first time because he was experiencing shortness of breath and pain. Dr. Mackey saw him and did a thorough workup. and with the utmost kindness explained that our baby had pneumonia and our likely metastatic prostate cancer creating myriad of other problems.

She was honest about his prognosis yet did not give up on hope he might respond to medications. She allowed us to bring Bleu Cheese home with his meds and let us give hime love and TLC. His pain controlled, we were relieved to finally know that the moderate symptoms he had over the prior two weeks had a name and that we could realistically.

Our cat, Aggie, just had her first successful visit in YEARS, and it is all thanks for Dr. Mackey and the wonderful staff at Towne South! Dr. Mackey and her staff met with us before the initial visit to come up. with a plan to safely sedate our cat, so that the check-up would be as thorough as possible. Then, they helped execute the plan flawlessly, and it was an incredible, stress-free experience! Aggie is back home, happy & purring, like nothing even happened!

We are so glad we FINALLY found a vet that listened to our concerns and didn't make us feel ridiculous. Dr. Mackey and her staff appreciated that we knew our cat best and helped us find a way to get her this much needed check-up. This is the third vet we've used (or tried to use) in the SBC, and it was the best - BY FAR! Highly recommend!

This is a phenomenal vet! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Caring vets and staff!

This has been a tough week for us. We almost lost our sweet girl, Dakota. It has been too difficult to talk about. until now. I want to give a Shout out to Dr Hunter and Dr Mackey and all of the techs at Town. South animal clinic, for quick diagnosis and stabilized care, and sending her for surgery at the Animal Emergency Clinic. Also want to give a special thanks to Dr Welch at the Animal Emergency Clinic, they all were so busy that night, but he knew that this dog was going to die without immediate surgery and so he made the call to Dr Trachtenburg, who came in and performed the surgery that ultimately saved her life. God bless all of these people for their knowledge and their loving care. There is nothing that I could say could repay y'all for the outstanding treatment.#Kodastrong

Every one is so nice. They have been taking care of my babies for a long time and have never steered me wrong. I took my cat in today with out an appointment and was seen within 10 minutes. I would highly recommend them and will never go anywhere else.
