Love this place! Larry is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable! My dog was getting a dark rash on his belly so I was looking for a food with no chicken or beef. Larry recommended recommended a one for skin issues and even gave me a sample to see if my dog liked it and the rash completely disappeared. And they carry great products!

I've never owned a pet but I looked online to see what pets are safe for someone who's allergic to cats, dogs, rabbits, and horses. Finding out I'm allergic really made me sad. Is there and of the animals mentioned above that someone who is allergic can have? Please get back to me. I wanna be prepared for the future.

We have been going to Loves Pets for over 15 years for all of our canine needs. Larry, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable on everything related to dogs and has steered us in the right direction and helped us to resolve a multitude of issues over the last 15 years. In fact, we moved out of the Agoura area to encino several years ago and continue to go to Loves (an approximate 10+ mile drive) due to the excellent service, knowledge and wide array of top quality products in the store. Loves is infinitely superior to both the chain pet stores and independent pet stores in the greater Los Angeles area! Loves has been essential in providing us what we needed to care for the 4 dogs we have had since first finding this wonderful pet store.

My car was stuck near this business. I walked in and was greeted nicely not only by the people but a bird as well! They were able to help me start my car and did everything possible they could. So glad to have run I to these amazing people! Above and beyond customer service. I am hoping to adopt a dog soon so I will be coming back for he or she. Thanks guys!

I love this place! Larry and Megan are always so helpful and informative. My golden was having skin issues due to allergies and I was taking him to the vet and nothing ever helped. Larry got me onto this food he feeds his goldens and within 3 weeks my golden was back to his normal self, not itching & the skin rash was gone! Thanks Larry! You are the best

Larry does research on the products he sells to ensure your pets well being. For this reason I highly recommend purchasing your pet foods at Love's Pets.

I utterly can not BELIEVE a pet store could exist that STILL SELLS ANIMALS. When 7,000,000 animals get euthanized in the US alone, ever year, THIS STORE IS ACTUALLY SELLING CATS (screen grab attached of their advertisement on Instagram. NO mention them being for adoption or from the shelter or rescue or ANYTHING). There are COUNTLESS reptiles, hamsters, bunnies and ENDLESS CATS AND DOGS for adoption at ANY shelter or rescue.

Not to mention the fact that SELLING dogs, cats and bunnies is currently illegal in California. "Love's Pets?" You are part of the problem and should truly reconsider your practices. Additionally, I wrote the owner directly, questioning their practices and they said to me "I do sell some lizards." Ha! What a blatant understatement.

Got the dry cat food I wanted and the store owner was super nice and helpful

Take care of your loved ones! Feed them what they're meant to eat, not what's easy and cheap! Loves Pets will take the time to help you figure out what your four legged friends need to thrive!

This family owned and operated shop is one of the best pet stores in the area. Larry and Meg are extremely knowledgeable and will only sell you high quality products that make your pets happier and healthier. They have some unique products that I've never seen on Amazon that my pets LOVE! I will definitely be shopping here every time I'm in town!

The owner was hands on helping customers, like me, to find options for my picky eater jack Russell terrier. They've got wide selection of foods and treats plus accessories.

Been a customer for years & yet the last time I visited, Larry was very rude & showed no appreciation to any customer that walked in. It was like he just didn't care. Not sure what happened but especially in these days, you'd think that small business owners would be more attentive & friendly especially when they are charging more than their local competitors. Ordering from Amazon is cheaper, less time consuming & you don't have to deal with lousy attitudes.

I have been going to Loves Pets since, I can't even remember when. For a very long time and it seems to be getting better the longer it's been here. I love how it's evolved over time and become exactly what we needed as a community. And that's what I feel like it's like a community store it's a part of us. The customer service is always amazing.

I walk in there and they know me. They know what I want or need. The banter with me they help me. I feel kind of like I'm at home. It's a great store. They have excellent information on your pets on their health and their needs. I definitely recommend Loves Pets. They could be a little bit more expensive than those big box stores? But for me I'd rather pay for quality, knowledge excellent customer service. Visited because none of the pet stores near me had what I wanted in stock. I used the contact us page on the website and the owner responded promptly! Awesome customer service and it is super cool to go into a store and the owner is there to help you! Will be going back in the future even though Love's Pet is a little further away from my home. I think it is definitely worth the personal touch

Some guy walked in while I was here without a mask to shop. Owner didn't seem to think anything of it - it appears he's friends with this clown. I won't be coming back.

Why would anyone go to a chain pet store when you have a place like Love's Pets that is (a) family-owned and (b) fab-u-lous. Megan and her dad were great and very friendly in helping us adopt pets. You can tell that Megan really loves animals, and she was very patient with our checking in as our kids were super excited to have pets and kept asking "when"? Plus one for Megan's dad who was ready with Dad Jokes; my kind of people. Highly recommend.

Great customer service, friendly, and knowledgeable, I see the passion for pets and their health. My pup is a very picky eater and she loved the samples of grain free food. Thank you! This will be my go to pet shop for my fur baby's needs. Bye bye petsmart! Hehe

I have been a customer of Love's Pets for more than three years now. They stock first class dog foods and provide excellent guidance in selecting other products for other pets' needs. Our GSD's were both adopted, and one suffered severe abuse which likely included the absence of vet care. In spite if their shaky beginning, they look great, have loads of energy, and play through the day.

We estimate their ages at 9 and 7. The owner, Larry, is value oriented, so he will watch out for your wallet as well as your pet. He is always in the market searching for new products to care for your pet. Michael White

Pretty good store, with pretty good selection of products. Larry and workers are usually nice and always willing to answer questions/help you find something. I'm glad they aren't selling puppies anymore. I'd hope this could actually be a store someday that doesn't sell any live animals, just products for animals. Just my opinion.

Our doggie was just spayed and I hate those plastic cones. My husband drove up with sleepy dog in car. Larry came out to car and fitted her. Such great customer service. Support our local businesses!

This family-run business is the best and I'm thrilled to support them instead of going to the big box and online retailers. I've been a loyal customer for 20 years and I always receive the best, most friendly service possible. They're experts with providing the best advice about the care and feeding for your dog, cat, reptile or whatever you have. Excellent selection of products, always in stock and with great prices to top it off. Highly recommended!

Larry knows his stuff and is always available to recommend the best diet and grooming aides available for your dog or cat's special needs. We recently lost our beloved golden retriever 6 days short of her 15th birthday. I'm sure her longevity can to some degree be attributed to Love's Pets recommendations.

Old-fashioned, friendly, and personal customer service. I never write reviews but I had to go out of my way to give this family-owned pet store 5 stars. I went in to buy a specific brand of pet food because my dog was recently diagnosed with cancer. Although the owner did not have the specific brand (which is understandable, as it is an obscure brand), he kindly recommended a comparable brand and even gave me a free sample to try before buying. He was genuinely empathetic about my dog and I appreciate his efforts to assist me. I will continue to go to this pet store.

Shop local! So much better than those big box stores or mail order. The best pet store in the area. They have everything you need for any pet but what makes this place special is the owner. He is very knowledgeable about all the different product lines and can make specific recommendations for your pet. You can ask questions and actually get answers. They will even help you carry out to your car. I haven't experienced that kind of customer service in ages!

Love's Pets is the best shop around. I don't trust many people with the health and well being of my mini Aussie, Cooper. Love's is one of the few! Larry's guidance has been so valuable, especially on raw feeding and which supplements to use that help Coopers joints. The Love's Pets team is bright and always willing to help. Would recommend!

Recently moved into the Agoura Hills area from Calabasas. I had been getting feeder mice and crickets from a mom and pop shop in West Hills but the drive was just becoming too much. I wanted to stick with a small shop in order to support local businesses and Love's Pets came highly recommended from those in the area. They carry both crickets for my tarantula and feeder mice for my ball python and at a great price! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about an array of pets and supplies. Very happy I found this gem.

The best pet store in the area BY FAR. Great customer service and great variety of quality product for your furry friend(s). You can tell they really love and know animals here. My dog loves everything he gets from here, and he's very selective with food/treats!

Larry was very helpful getting my picky eater Chihuahua to find something she would eat and is still nutritious for her that we don't have to cook for her! She's 14 and missing all but 6 teeth, so she was only eating sweet potatoes and baked chicken.

We feel very fortunate to have a pet store like this in our neighborhood. Not only do they carry healthier product options you won't find in the big box stores, but they are also very knowledgeable about what they sell and can offer recommendations for whatever issue you may be facing with your pets. The owner, Larry, is constantly researching and reading up on the latest findings and has been very helpful to us in suggesting we try certain brands of cat food and treats for our two older kitties, and I'm pleased to say they worked! Definitely stop in and talk to him or his staff if you've been unsuccessfully trying to find a solution to your pets problems on your own.

We came to Larry Horn, the owner, asking for help deciding what to bring to the dog and cat rescues during the devastating fires in our area. He and his daughter helped us select A variety of nutritious and tasty foods for all types of animals. In addition, Larry donated bags and bags of dog food, cat food, and treats for animals in need. These guys keep breaking my rules in two very fundamental ways. Despite their being a pet store (I'm a rescue guy) and with as regularly as I visit them (note for countless years), I'm calling myself an a$s for not reviewing Love's Pet's a long long time ago! Sorry Larry! Love's Pets has kept my boys (Ridgies & mixes) well fed and healthy for two doggie generations.

My vet even asked me what I feed my current rescue because he's so perfectly healthy! Love's Pets' knowledge and well selected product-line are top notch. Get to know these folks and they are sure to get to know you and take care of your four footed family!
