A Dog's Best Friend

If you're the type that appreciates being bamboozled, then this is the business for you. First of all, my dog is 6kg and even as small as he is, there is no way a professional groom takes just 30minutes; even an 1hr30mins is fast. I'm not sure how this business can justify charging such exorbitant prices for grooming a dog under 15lbs ranging from $85-$120!? 15-30lbs the prices jump from $120-$160!?

All in a half hours time of work? The costs are outrageous, I don't care how pretty the van is, this is incredibly unsustainable for the average dog owner. With gas prices going up, I can only imagine how high the fees will go. Impossible to afford, and simply not worth it. This business needs to do better.

We have been clients of this family groomer for years. Our two dogs only got groomed here and always came back spiffy and cute. The mother daughter team of professional groomers are loving to the little clients that walk through their doors. They learn about the animals and work with their families to provide the best service.

Cookie loves this place, and so do we. We don't mind coming from New Jersey to Forest Hills, Queens just so she can go to her favorite groomer.

A Dog's Best Friend is an exceptional mobile grooming service that comes to your address and services your dog to perfection in a large mobile truck. It is a complete grooming facility whose owner loves dogs and will treat your pet like her very own. Every service is available, and your your pooch will emerge fluffy, fragrant and happy from the pampered experience. I have not found a more comprehensive and caring grooming service as A Dog's Best Friend.

Always satisfied when I bring my dog for a grooming here, My dog isn't afraid to go back. Employees were awesome and the work was very professional. The place is clean. Definitely I recommend this place.

As a first time doggy mom, I was really looking for a place that will groom my dog. Finally found this place. This is such a professional place, I was very comfortable leaving my dog. Definitely will come here again.

Always happy with how they groom both of my dogs. They always go above and beyond with cleaning them and even put cute bandanas/hair ties on them! So happy I found a grooming place where both of my dogs are happy to go to

Have been bringing my Penelope here and they are wonderful. She is nervous walking in the door but as soon as she seems them she relaxes and is looking for belly rubs. They are professional and very kind. I highly recommend!

Don't bring your dogs there if they are in the least bit anxious or scared. They charged us $90 per dog because they were difficult. I don't know what they did to my two shih tzu's but it took them two days to get over their experience there. I will never bring them back, I go to put a leash on my dog for a walk and she's petrified she's going to that groomer again. If you can't handle an anxious dog you're in the wrong business.

Brought my 2 dogs in for grooming. They never told mehow much it would cost cause the dogs were difficult. They came home and we're not themselves. They are sad a d sleeping all day since they came home. I don't know what happened there, but the dogs are definitely not themselves. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Was looking for someone open since Covid has shut down everything and my little one needed a cut badly. The pictures looked good and the reviews were also, so I called for an appointment. not only are they SUPER expensive ($15 more than my usual place) but they aren't detailed. when we got home and i looked at her, her floppy ears are two different lengths and the cut is so choppy and uneven. why? we've never had this problem in any other groomer. her face isn't cut well either, with her fur choppy and different lengths and with lots of hair in her eyes that i had to take out in the car bc it was bothering her. i'm really not impressed and highly doubt we will be back.

My problem was one of the groomers called me while my dog was there to say one of my dogs hairs was matted. She said she had a hard time brushing through the hair (which is BS) and also asked if I brush my dogs hair. I literally brushed my dogs hair everyday. I expressed that it was very odd of her to say that because we've been to 2 different groomers and NO ONE has ever said that to me.

She said in order to continue with my dogs she would have to cut an extra inch off and in return.it'll cost MORE! I was like no way, I see your strategy right now. I told her just trim around my dogs eyes and clip their nails cause I'm picking them up ASAP.I wanted my dogs the heck out of there. When I go in the same woman doesn't greet me, she hands me my dogs and they're all damp.

I confronted her about my dogs hair asking how is she matted (she looked perfectly fine), the woman goes "Idk you have to brush deeper in the hair". She was unfriendly, and no customer service skills at all, I told her in person again that I've never heard a groomer say that to me. She then charged me $60 for a bath and a half ass nail, eye trim.

I looked back at the some of the other dogs there. I spotted a poodle with the curliest hair having it's hair brushed. The woman doing that poodles hair was yanking on it.yet my dog was the problem? Luckily, after all of this, K9 caterers had an opening for my dogs and what a difference. My dogs look phenomenal. I mentioned to this groomer what the other woman said about my dogs hair, she was very confused as to why this woman made it seem like my dog was so difficult to groom.

She said my dogs were a piece of cake considering their shih tzus! Save your money for a better place folks my usual place is Sophie and teddys which are fantastic but are closed for now or k9 is great as well!

I can't recommend this place enough. My Havanese is a very anxious dog. The first time at another groomer she was so nervous she was sick. Another groomer turned her away because she was too knotted. Finally A Dogs Best Friend was recommenced and it has been such a blessing. Cathy took such great care of Betty! I couldn't be more happy. Betty looks great! Smells great and was so calm when I picked her up. Found a groomer for life! Thank you Cathy!

Our friends and I had last minute guests come over, so we cleaned the house but forgot to get the dog groomed. Called a bunch of places but they were all booked and out of the places that were available, no one was willing to give the type of cut we wanted. until we decided to give this place a call. They were so nice and I think the dog appreciated the haircut. She looks cute too!

My Dog, Joy, was heavily matted. Another groomer in the area actually turned her away for grooming services. A Dog's Best Friend not only groomed her but did a fantastic job! I feel like they treated her like one of their own dogs. Definitely recommend and definitely going back. Thank you!

Love this place. My toy poodle has been groomed here twice and they are so amazing! He looks so cute after his grooming sessions and the groomers are so nice and friendly. Also, they text to remind you it's time for another cut! Love them!

They did 3 of our poodles. Due to 3 months of personal emergencies (global move, second move from Jersey, sudden job change, death in family, lost vaccination papers, PETCO appointment screw ups) they went 3+ months without a grooming and were heavily matted. Also one needs dental work (we've been holding off due to to all the chaos -- so he obviously wasn't in a mood to stand for hours on end.). --Needless to say, we were expecting the worst, but actually all three came out looking great.

This is a big accomplishment because grooming 2 elderly (one hyper) dog in bad condition is tough for the dog and groomer alike-- but even if this was a regular grooming we'd still give high marks. We will definitely repeat. They were also quick. Their booking system is good for us and we like that the grooming area is 100% visible and they take the dogs behind the counter right away. Also their rates are reasonable. Will definitely repeat!

I've been going to the mother/ daughter team since their old location a couple of blocks up. The ladies are always pleasant, and my dogs weren't always the most cooperative getting their nails clipped (I always tipped 25%). The issue was getting them to make an appointment. Come early. no, come right before closing. can you come in another day?

I know they don't make a lot of money off nail clippings but it's still $40 cash for 10 minutes work. just got tired of planning my day around a 10 minute visit. I now use someone else. I hope to revisit one day and have an easier experience.

I have two pups who get groomed here regularly for the past 5 years. Their cuts are perfect every time and the girls who run it care for my pups as if they were their own. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to this groomer for about ten years. They are wonderful and super accommodating to our families' two dogs. They know our dogs and their anxieties. They know that the dogs need to be separated and give very specific attention to them. For example, our older dog Sam has many growths and fat deposits and they know how to not hurt him.

The younger one is a bit anxious so they also cater to that. We have had other groomers and when the dogs came back, they were skiddish and lethargic. But when they come home from dog's best friend, none of this happens. They take good care of our dogs, and we really appreciate the mother and daughter grooming team. Whenever I see a cute dog on the street w a fresh haircut, I ask and find out that they also go to this groomer. This is in fact how we found out about dog's best friend.

I wasn't able to get a same day appt at Sophie and Teddys, so out of desperation of needing BoBo clean before vacation I called this place. They weren't busy and said if I could be there within 15 minutes he would be done by 4. Great! We get there, and I ask how much it will be. $&@#%?! So last year $100 got BoBo a bath, haircut, nails, and gland release.

Now it's $100 for just bath and haircut, and "as a courtesy" it's only $125 to include nails and glands? I inquired why so much more and they said expenses have gone up. Listen, I get it, you pay for rent water and electricity but I'm not seeing or feeling increases like this in any other business. I said never mind. I gave him an at home bath out of necessity, but I'll still have to get his nails cut after vacation. Drying him was a pain, but I don't think it would've been worth the $100-125 to avoid that task. And ya know, it's not just the pricing that changed. Those ladies used to be much friendlier.

This is the best groomer in NY. I love the attention that they give my dogs for their groomer. They take extra care of my dog's needs. I love the way she smells and looks after getting her services. The price is always reasonable. I feel great when I drop her off. Coco loved her first grooming appointment there. She looks so adorable for Xmas. I love the detail that they did with her eyes - giving her cute lashes.

Helpful and friendly staff was able to squeeze my two dogs in for a nail trimming with only 30 minutes notice. They handled the dogs with care and my dogs' nails look great. Will definitely be back (with an appointment) for a full grooming.
