After practicing out of his house in Filion for a few years, the Bad Axe Animal Medical Clinic was built by Dr. David Wakefield in 1972. In 1982 the practice was sold to Dr. Glasser and his wife Becky. Since Dr. Glassers' passing in 2013, the practice has been run by his wife Becky. Dr. Jane grew up in the Ubly area and has a long history with our clinic!
She first started as a kennel aid here and then attended Michigan State University to become a Veterinary Technician. After serving here as a technician she went back to school and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

I've been a pet owner and animal caregiver for many years and I've never seen a veterinary clinic where the vets are so inconsiderate, uncaring and with such a total lack of empathy for patients, pets and their owners as this clinic. They are devoid of any people/pet skills and are only in it to push unnecessary products/services to pay for their next yacht or trip.
They do not know how to handle animals and would sooner make you pay for a sedative to put your pet to sleep than to try and get to know your pet. They are coarse, crass and abusive to the clients and think that's proper social interaction in what's supposed to be a professional, caring environment. Please, take your pets to a more professional place to receive the treatment that you and your pet deserve. It costs a lot to care for your pet and you deserve better than this place provides.

Took my Mothers dog in for oral surgery on Thursday and he began to have problems controlling his bowels on the following day. I called because I was very concerned. Instead of them have me bring him back in to be checked they told me to give him 1cc of anti diarrhea medicine. On Saturday, after his medicine was given to him, he began having seizures and when we called the emergency number we were told the emergency Vet was in Saginaw. He died on the way. I feel we were very misinformed about the whole procedure and to have an emergency veterinary center over an hour away is inexcusable.

My dog was hit today, I called them they said bring her as soon as you can. Were we promtly seen, they opened the doors for us. We were seen immediatly. They are keeping her over nite and as far as I am concerned they were great. Have been bringing our dog there for a few years and in our time of tradgedy to us as pet parents, they were awesom.

I have bringing my cat here for about 13 years and this is the best place I have found. They haave always gotten me in promptly and seem genuinally concernrd for my cat. I have tried plenty of other vet clinics and this is by far the best place I have found. The doctors and techs are knowledgeable and have always answered my questions for me. I drive an hour and a half to this clinic and have always been pleased with the service I have gotten there. They have won my loyalty and I will continue to use them.

The acting of the the staff, and more importantly the so called "Vets" is genuine 5 star. This clinic is all about money. State Law requires Veterinarians to write a write a prescription if requested, they refused. They have a 300% mark up on the medication and that and that alone is the reason. A "professional" thumbing their nose at the law and recommendations of AVMA and AHHA of which they are members?
It is a fraud perpetuated on the clients that they eve belong to these organizations. They tried to sell me shark cartilage from the same company I purchase my supplements from, again at a 300% mark up. They are not in "business" to help you or your pet unless you cow tow to them. Arrogance abounds. When I told them they were breaking the law they hung up on me each time I called.
This is a professional? Not by any stretch of the imagination. I have filed and there is an ongoing investigation by the State of Michigan Bureau of Health professionals. I have had dogs for 50 years and was a kennel owner and breeder and NEVER seen such unprofessional behavior. I guess when you are the only game in town and know it you can take advantage of people who don't rock the boat. Well they picked the wrong person, man overboard. Too bad you can't rate them 0 or I would.
