A Cat Clinic

We, unfortunately, only discovered the wonderful A Cat Clinic in our cat's final hours. All the fine folks at A Cat Clinic, from the receptionists to the vet, were completely caring and compassionate in giving us the utmost respect and, ultimately, condolences in our situation. When we adopt our next cat, we will absolutely start off on the right paw and come to A Cat Clinic from day 1. Thank you, all.

A Cat Clinic is FABULOUS! Knowledgable vets and staff who truly care about your cat's health. I take both of my cats here for their annual exams and one of my cats has also had a teeth extraction and an emergency eye exam. The staff is always accommodating and the vets take their time to explain the procedures, walk through medication administration/treatment plans and answer any questions.

Most recently when they couldn't get ahold of me to go over the results of an exam, they called my husband, which I really appreciated. The prices are also fair. Can't say enough good things about the place!

I was referred by a trusted vet to A Cat Clinic & the staff were incredibly responsive beginning with my first anxious call about my 14-year-old cat with a lump on his chest. Two days later, we drove from DC for the initial visit and Dr. Mustillo was informative, incredibly patient in answering my questions & transparent about clinical issues & expected costs.

She scheduled the needed surgery during the holidays. Dr. Mustillo called to follow up and explain the lab test results before & after surgery & again patiently responded to my questions. Dr. Mustillo's expertise led to my cat's successful healing & my peace of mind.

Simply put, A Cat Clinic is the best feline only practice in the metro DC area. I have been bringing my cats here for 20 years. The care they provide is superb. Everyone from the front desk staff, vet techs and of course the vets are amazing.

This is such a unique veterinary office with incredible feline specialists that are very thorough. I have trusted them with major diagnostic work ups, acute illnesses and surgeries for my cats. The staff is always attentive and caring. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I run a primary care medical office and this is what you look for in a practice.

My boyfriend has been taking his two cats here for years. Today was my first visit with the three of them. I was beyond pleased with the whole experience! The clinic is tucked away in a residential area and feels very cozy but clean. The exam room is perfect for kitties with perches on the window. The staff is oh em gee amazing. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and handled our two boys with care.

I was a huge fan of our vet tech and veterinarian. They kept us informed throughout the whole visit and we felt very involved in the care. We will always take our cats here and I would recommend it to anyone who loves their cats!

What can I say, this place is the best for our feline friends! I brought my cat here who has very high anxiety. She has literally been turned away from other vets because she is difficult to handle for nail trims or check ups. Not with a cat clinic! I shared my concerns and they made me feel very confident that my cat was going to be well taken care of. If you want the best for your cat look no further. I can't say enough how great these people are and how well they take care of our fur babies!

If you love your cats, this is definitely the place to go! The whole staff was welcoming and friendly, and they treated our furry babies with the utmost care. Even our anti-social, anxious cat cuddled up with the technician while she was getting inspected! The place is small and tucked away, but it is very clean and there is plenty of parking space.

It has a homely feel, and our adventurous cat was eager to explore outside the confines of the appointment room! Dr. De Bernardis was exceptionally gentle and patient, and she addressed all of our questions and concerns throughout the course of the appointment. We also liked how they are very upfront with their pricing. When scheduling the appointment weeks prior, they answered all of my billing questions honestly and without hesitation - and the final bill was a direct reflection of this. We are thankful to have such a wonderful clinic nearby for our furry family members!

Took my very anxious/aggressive cat for her first checkup. They treated her so well that she opened up to them! She usually only trusts me and will only allow me to lift her etc. By the end of the visit she was rubbing up against both the nurse and veterinarian! The receptionists also didn't mind me constantly bugging them about pricing. What a wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly practice! Cant wait to bring her back for her 2nd round of vaccines next month. If you have a cat in the DMV you want to take them here.

We adopted a shelter kitty three months ago. Dr. Mustillo has been very thorough and we are more than very pleased. She is caring. Calls are returned and the staff is very kind and responsive. It's a bit of a drive but well worth the extra mile or two. Highly recommend. The clinic is spotless. They only treat cats which is a plus. They are cat people.

I can't even begin to describe how special the Cat Clinic is to my family. They took care of my sweet boy Rockford for 2 to 3 years before he passed away in December 2019. His health declined dramatically in just one month. I had many worried calls and emails with the Clinic staff each week as something new would happen to him and I found myself unsure of what to do.

They were all very understanding, compassionate, and caring towards Rockford. It sometimes seems like their knowledge and determination to help us is endless. All the vets there were ready with one more thing we could try to make our baby more comfortable. They were constantly educating us so we can be better pet parents. I learned a lot about cats I couldn't have found on my own.

When the time finally did come when we knew we had to say goodbye they helped us through that as well. They take care of our newer family member Frankie with the same care they've always shown us. I can leave Frankie there for a week in boarding while on vacation without worrying because I know they'll take great care of him. Most of the receptionists know us right away when we call and I love them all! I've had pets all my life with lots of different vets and this place is special, they are the best vet I've ever been to.

Way over priced. A lot of misdirection with billing. Office manager Ann is extremely rude and ignorant. Asked several times to speak with accounting or owner and she told be she was in charge. Highway robbery, rude staff! Stay Away!

Updated review, 2 years later. Im a cat mom. This place continues to give A++ service. If youre a cats only owner I suggest this place. Having pets all my life. I noticed cats get very stressed going to the vet. Especially if its a vet that sees all animals. Growing up My other cats was so anxious the wouldnt want to leave the car or the carrier. When you enter the facility, youre immediately greeted and youll see this place is very calm and peaceful.

This helped my cat transition into the waiting room. The vet tech was very patient and very smooth in getting my cats vitals while I was in the room. Dr. DeBernadis was very friendly and had excellent bedside manner. Very gentle in handling my cat. Gave a lot insight in cat care and gave my cat his shots while distracting him at the same time. I strongly recommend this place if youre a cat owner. If youre new get the groupon special and take advantage of their free nail trim.

The best you can get for your cat! These vets are experts with cutting edge approaches to feline health & are genuinely invested in your cat's well being. Effective, generous in spirit, & compassionate. They helped my FIP+ fospice kitten live his best life. Thank you Cat Clinic

I loved our old vet but as we moved further and further away, the car ride seemed too hard for our pets. We bring our cat here now since it's closer, and I am relieved to report they are wonderful! Wish I'd come here years sooner, really. We've also boarded him here and the staff were great about keeping me updated on how he was doing, all while helping him stay comfortable. Don't miss their brochure about "spa packages" for your cat. It's amusing -- and useful if your cat needs grooming or pampering.

Boots and I love A Cat Clinic! After multiple attempts to get my kitty to simmer down at multiple vets in the area, we've found the best! Although she still gets a little bit ancy, as expected, Dr. R and the staff at A Cat Clinic do everything they can to ensure she's getting the best care possible without panicking my kitty too much. Not only that but the vets here are never pushy with methods of medication or treatment; they offer you a solution and if you don't wish to follow through, they give you the option to come back again. I think that is absolutely wonderful. A Cat Clinic is worth a long drive, you leave with a happy and well taken care of kitty.

If you have a cat and live within an hours drive, you have to make this your "go to" place for your pet. We have 3 cats and foster caring for 2 more (ok, we now have 5 cats. who am I kidding). We drive almost 35 minutes past several other places because this place/staff are so good. They are knowledgeable, take time to answer concerns and make the experience as pleasant as possible understanding you are probably there with a sick pet. Thanks for taking such good care of our pet family members.

This is the absolute BEST place to take your kitty or cat. I took my 3 yr old cat that has anxiety and we had the best experience ever. Dr. Rubenstein was super gentle and made sure my cat was comfortable. I will be taking both my cats to A CAT CLINIC for check ups, boarding and whatever else they may need. This place is clean, all staff are experienced with cats and are very loving to every cat that comes in.

The doctor that examined Smoke DID NOT ASK IF I AGREED TO LABS. The labs on my cat were done without my knowledge or authorization.

I very highly recommend A Cat Clinic. The people are kind, caring, and always helpful. Their hours are easy to work with. While the cost may be higher than some other clinics, you get what you pay for- amazing care for your kitty. A Cat Clinic has helped me care for three cats and always treated every issue seriously and with compassion. Highly, highly recommend.

If you have the luck of being able to bring your cat here for his or her health needs, your cat will be in some of the best hands ever. This vet office was brought to my attention by a coworker who has several cats and considers them her babies. Nothing but the best for them. I was telling her about my cat's declining health and that I was certain it was time to say goodbye, but wanted it as calm as possible.

While my cat handles dogs fine, I thought, the quieter and more calm, the better for his last moments. So, we made the hour drive out to A Cat Clinic with our beloved cat, Turbo, to say our final good byes. We've never before been to this vet office. But they treated us as if we were repeat customers. Turbo's last moments were calm and the vet did an amazing job at helping him pass on peacefully and quickly.

It still makes me tear up just to type that last sentence because Turbo was such a good boy that unfortunately had a disease that shortened his lifespan. Before the procedure, they also asked if we'd like to pay first so that we didn't have to deal with that after the fact. I recommend doing that. You're going to be so teary-eyed, that you won't be able to see to find your money.

They gave us all the time we needed alone with Turbo's body before we left as well. About a week later or so, we received a condolences card from the office complete with a handwritten, short note. And more recently, we received a card from the Winn Feline Foundation. Turns out that A Cat Clinic had made a donation to them in Turbo's name. That's amazing and really shows their love for cats. They sent us a card and even made a donation in his name, and they only first met him on the final day of his life.

This clinic is by far the best place to take your cat. My cat gypsy has been sick for over 2 months, I took her to another vet and she did not get better. The vet at a cat clinic was able to figure out what was wrong with her and was super supportive. I just received a card in the mail from her and those kind gestures, like checking on my cat, really makes a difference. I will be bringing all 3 of my cats here from now on!

I have been a client here for 10 years (3 cats ago!), even after moving an hour away, and I would give any of the vets and techs here my highest recommendation, for anything from boarding to dental care to surgery to diabetes to urgent freak-outs. They are all smart, sweet, thorough, professional, compassionate, understanding, and accommodating, and the clinic and grounds are beautiful. Going to a vet is extremely stressful for a kitty, but mine almost act like they enjoy coming here to be pampered (and they are very soothing to humans as well!) I am a retired nurse, and all I can say is, I wish I could find a human doc that was half as good as these vets are. Incomparable excellence in every way, truly exceptional. don't hesitate.

I rarely write reviews, but I think A Cat Clinic deserves a good review from me. Two months ago, my girl suddenly lost her appetite. I took her to a Vet close by. The vet did a blood work for her, and sent us home with no treatment. I became very worried that night and started to search for other vets online and found that A Cat Clinic has great reviews.

I called to make an appointment, the girl at the front desk told me there was no availability until next week. However, she asked me the reason for the appointment, then she consulted the vets and was able to get me an appointment the next morning! The next morning I got partial results of the blood work back. My cat's red blood cells count was really low.

I showed the results to Dr. Mustillo, and she suspected it was caused by either Felv or FIP and suggested to screen for common feline viruses. She didn't want to draw new blood because "my cat really needs the blood now". She called the blood work center and was able to add several tests using the existing blood sample. She gave my cat a vitamin injection, a pill to ease her stomach, and an antibiotic prescription.

The next morning Dr. Rubenstein called me about the results. Unfortunately, FIP is positive. Although most cats would test positive and blood test alone cannot confirm the diagnosis, we have ruled out other possibilities. I agreed with Dr. Rubenstein's judgement that my little girl most likely had FIP. That night I found that my cat developed a pot-belly, which meant she got fluid accumulation in abdomen and she got the effusive (most dangerous) form of FIP.

After my cat passed away, I got a card from Dr. Mustillo. A few days ago, I got a card from a Feline foundation saying that A Cat Clinic has made a donation in the name of my cat. I wrote this review because I want other cat lovers to know that Dr. Mustillo and Dr. Rubenstein are great Vets. They really care about cats. They are very caring, professional, knowledgeable and experienced. I believe all cats coming here are in good hands.

A very kind and caring staff. They helped me and my two toddlers through a difficult time. I'd highly recommend the office and we shall definitely see them in the future for our other kitty! :

In the fall of 2014 I set out to find a new vet - I gathered a list of the top rated (on Yelp!) 7 or 8 vet offices within a 25 miles radius. My cat had gotten ringworm and I wanted to talk to a veterinarian about treatment plan and medications. I called all the offices on the list and not a single vet returned my call - except for A Cat Clinic. Dr. Mustillo called me later that day and discussed how they treat ringworm and the oral medication they prescribe.

She was friendly, knowledgeable, and wasn't rushing to get off the phone. The ACC staff was welcoming and friendly, the environment cozy and peaceful, and Dr. Rubenstein was kind and patient. My experience with ACC has been overwhelmingly positive - Dr. Rubenstein consistently calls me back the same day if I have a question the staff cannot answer.

During the ringworm period I had numerous questions, Dr. Rubenstein and the ACC staff were extremely patient, accessible, and genuine. There are also no surprises when it comes to the vet bill - the services are transparent. Everyone at ACC cares about the well-being of their little furry patients and I never feel like I'm just a customer.

I recently moved from Houston Texas to Silver Spring. When in Houston, I had the awesome services of Houston Cat Hospital and Dr. Kathleen Smith there, when they took awesome care of my 3 cats. Being a single guy, my cats are like my children and I want them taken care of very well. And with one of them having various health issues ever since I adopted him, having a great Vet is prime concern for me.

I won't go into the details of how I wound up over 30 minutes away (remember, I live in Silver Spring) but suffice it to say, I'm thrilled I did. When I moved, my "sickly" cat was in the middle of a health issue so I had to see someone quickly. Dr. Smith told me what she suggested to solve his issue. When I brought them to see Dr. Rubenstein at A Cat Clinic, she checked him out, called Houston Cat Hospital for a copy of his records, and long-story-short, she came up with a different solution to his issue, which happened to be a bit cheaper too!

Mind you, I'll pay what I have to do in order for my babies to be healthy, but it's nice that she didn't just take what Dr Smith had suggested. Even today, I brought all 3 of them in for a nail trim and had asked Dr. Rubenstein if she wanted to examine him, since he's finishing up his antibiotics. She asked if he was doing well, and I said yes and she said that was good enough for her!

The entire staff is so sweet, and very accommodating. It's really tough for me since I live so far away, but my cats are worth it. I even got a really nice handwritten card from them once I started going to their clinic signed by the entire staff, welcoming me to their clinic. Very nice touch indeed!
