Our relationship with whippets began in 1980 when my husband, Mark Shubert and I moved from an apartment and bought our first house. We couldn't wait to get a dog. We searched for a while, looking for a compromise between the small mixed breed dogs my family had when I was a child and the dog of his childhood, a big, boisterous lab. We heard about whippets and went to a dog show to see what they were all about. Outside the ring, we asked questions until an exhibitor thrust the lead of an exquisite little bitch into my hand and told me the dog's name.

I have always wanted to adopt a female who is done with having puppies and needs a very good forever home. I am well versed in whippets, from a non-breeder point of view, and wondered if you could help. I have purchased a zillion martingale collars, leads, and coats from you in the past, in case my name is somewhat familiar but you can't place it.
Kay, just wanted to let you know that Sonic, which I bought from you 1 year ago is doing well and we love him to pieces. Thanks so much for breeding these wonderful animals. He loves running around our property.
This loop on loop system is traditional to sighthound breeds. It prevents the dog from escaping by tightening up if the dog tries to back out. Another common name for this style is a "walking lead". The all-one-piece construction makes it very quick to get on and off your dog - no struggling with a clumsy snap.
Slip leads are used in ASFA and AKC lure coursing events to release your hound at the "Tally Ho!". They are also used to load your dog into the box for straight racing and a quick start in agility. The slips are constructed of extremely durable nylon webbing and use large metal D rings at the sides of the neck to release the dog quickly.
