When I pull into the parking lot, my dogs get so excited and appear to be happy to be there. This makes boarding them for a few days a little bit easier On Me! Knowing my dogs are well taken care of while I am away allows me to relax. The staff keeps in touch and responds timely with any of my questions.

I only use the dog parks and occasionally buy products inside, but from those two things I have a good impression. The dog parks are amazing, spacious and well kept. The fact that there are two sides, one with open water for dogs to swim and one without for owners who perhaps didn't bring a towel is absolutely wonderful. Also, dogs getting to see horses just on the other side of the fence can be quite the fun spectacle.

We have used Leashes and Leads off and on for many things over the last few years. Most recently, we have had or dog attend weekly 1 day/week playcare and use them for boarding as needed. Recently, I found out they were kenneling our dog over 1/2 the time they were there daily. That, based off of feedback received, was happening for months. I was unaware and would not have taken her there if I knew I was paying for her to sit in a kennel. Also, fun fact, to kennel her for a day is much cheaper than what I was paying for playcare that she was not receiving.
When I asked they said she just gets so excited and barks and wants to play. It is disruptive. Well, that is what I thought play care was for. Then when I asked for a call back they said to "follow up with our previous discussions." There was NO previous discussion. Flat out LIE. For everyone looking and dropping off there dogs in the drive through lane, there is a reason the note says you cannot come in.
Ask questions. Be direct. I was lied to in email, on vm, and on the phone. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Very unfortunate. The thing is, if they would have talked to me and told me I would have been ok with it. Instead, they flat out lied to me every time I picked her up weekly. They will take your money happily and, in my case, WERE NOT PROVIDING the services they said they were.

Our two dogs are so happy at Leashes and Leads. As soon as we turn the corner off the highway, they start wagging their tails and jumping around- eager to go inside of your facility. We love the photos we received while on our last trip of the 13th birthday party the staff had for our chihuahua mix, Emmie. The funniest part was that her sister Rosie stole her cupcake while they were taking Emmie's photo. Luckily, Emmie was given another one.
We had such a good laugh. Our Labrador, Rosie, receives ample exercise, love, and socialization while being boarded. It's nice to be able to leave and know the girls (with very individual needs) will be loved and cared for. We highly recommend Leashes and Leads!

What a great playcare for our pup! Carbon, our standard poodle was quite timid and anxious the first couple of times. But now as we come closer to Leashes and Leads, he is super excited and wants to jump out right away. He enjoys the time he gets with his friends. Being a super active dog, it helps to get rid of all the pent up energy. he sleeps like a log at night after his busy play care!

I've been using Leashes & Leads for grooming, doggy playcare, boarding & my pet's treats and toys for over 5 years! My dog Bentley and my grandpup Nino love their days full of activity! Bentley's grooming is always top notch and the staff in all aspects of this business are friendly and helpful, and above all else- they love the animals! They have great, active social media accounts so we can see pictures of our pets during the day!
The outdoor dog park is an added bonus and during the warm months in MN, the pond is appreciated for our daily swims! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Leashes & Leads- my guys and I appreciate you!

Amber is our saving grace! I have a 70 lb. bully who is worlds biggest baby. Hes never been good at getting his nails done and Amber is literally the only one in town who has been able to manage it. He crys, yelps and alligator rolls and she somehow is still able to get them done. We dont know what we would do without her! They also have am amazing selection of treats and toys and my 2 y.o. loves to look at the horses when we go. Its a win all around!

Had an appointment booked for my two dogs to get groomed for weeks. Not only did they wait until I showed up to cancel said appointment (they never are available when you try to call them or return a call), they didn't even have one of my dogs down for the appointment when I clearly scheduled both at the same time and had email confirmations. I have spent a lot of money at this place over the years on toys, food, and grooming. Very poor business to treat loyal customers this way.

So let me preface this by saying that I have high regard for the equine park here (both me and my kiddo have taken riding lessons there), and I love the attached vet (Meadow View), but I've had nothing but bad experiences with the pet boarding/kennel part of the Leashes and Leads business. I dropped my two dogs and one cat off there for a five-day out-of-state trip and when I arrived, the worker who took them appeared completely disinterested and displayed no affection for my pets, and I could hear another female worker in the kennels yelling at and cursing at the dogs.
Unfortunately we had to leave the state in a few hours and there was no time to find another boarding solution, or I would've, because this gave me loads of bad vibes. When I returned to retrieve them, I once again heard a worker shouting and cursing at the dogs in the back, and after I got them home it turned out one of my dogs had contracted giardia (an intestinal parasite) AND conjunctivitis (pink eye) when she was there, and the other, a senior dog, now has kennel cough.
So far the giardia has cost around $700 in vet fees and my poor pup has had the worst week trying to recover from it. Now, I know that it's always a risk for critters to contract stuff anywhere they're boarded, but for them to contract three separate sicknesses between the two of them, and most especially the fact that none of the workers seemed to be treating them well--that's just not okay in my view. Added to this, the fees for boarding were more than I was originally quoted--nearly $800 for 5 nights, with the two dogs sharing a kennel and the cat in a separate area. (Note: the cat came home fine and seems to have had an okay experience there.) I definitely will not board here again and can't recommend it to anyone else.

We used Leashes and Leads for a few nights stay while I was attending a conference at Mayo. They were terrific on all the advance needs for the dog so I could get them what they needed from our local Vet, gave me good instructions for arrival, and were very professional in all my interactions. As far as I can tell, our Lab did great there and was well cared for and treated top notch! When I am back I'll be using them again for sure.

Had my old dog groomed there. It seems the groomer grabbed the dog's paw. The dog limped for three days, afterwards. I was about to make an appointment with the vet, when she finally shook it off, and was back to normal. The reason that I had her groomed because this had happened before, at another chain groomer. Still paid the Mayo Clinic Physician pricing.

I love Leashes & Leads for the following reasons: my 10 month old dog RUNS into the building towards the doggy daycare entrance! The staff is very welcoming and helps me with recommendations regarding toys and bones. The grooming is perfect. I start puppy trading on Jan 7th and am looking forward to these classes.

You won't find a nicer dog park in southeastern Minnesota! I take my pup here for doggy daycare and to the park and she absolutely loves it. She gets to play with dogs her size and energy level which makes her totally pooped when I get home from work and I'm too exhausted to go for a walk. Staff are informed and truly love their customers (aka dogs)!

We board our dog at Leashes and Leads every time we go out of town but this is the last time I will board her at this kennel. Every time we have picked her up from here, even for a short two night stay, she has poop either smeared throughout her tail, all over the backs of her legs, or on her feet. This has not happened anywhere else we have boarded her.
She is a healthy dog with no pre-existing conditions and I do not know what's going on here, if they aren't letting them out often enough or cleaning up the kennel but it is simply unacceptable. I even checked her over when I arrived at pick-up today, knowing what happened last time I boarded her, (and mistakenly put her in my car before I noticed) and sure enough, there was poop all over her hindquarters.
I asked the gal to please go and wash her off, and said, "She has poop all over her coat. This happened last time too." The gal took her back to the grooming area, then brought our dog back out and apologized. However, upon arriving home I discovered more poop smeared throughout our dog's tail. This is simply unacceptable. I know that dogs experience anxiety when being boarded and can have upset stomachs, but please, it is part of the boarding kennel's responsibility to keep your dog clean and well cared for when in their kennel.
I have no problem with picking up my dog if she's a little muddy or dirty from playing with other dogs, which is to be expected in a boarding situation, but being covered in poop is a different level of neglect. If letting a dog be covered in her own feces is the level of care that Leashes & Leads finds to be appropriate, they're running a bad business.

We took our dog to the dog play care for half a day. He was fine when we dropped him off, but he had an injured leg that he couldn't put any weight on when we got him back. When we picked him up, they said he was fine, but when we went back and confronted them, they admitted they noticed him limping "a little bit." But when he got home, he was not limping "a little bit" - he was limping so bad we had to take him to the ER!
And it was so bad that he might need surgery! No more. Our association with Leashes and Leads is done. Please read their waiver before you sign it, as they will try to use it to absolve themselves of any responsibility.

We love taking our dog here! The staff are always so excited to see him, and remember him as soon as we walk in. It's nice to be able to bring our fur baby to a place that has such caring, friendly staff. Not only do they have a wonderful playcare, they have great trainers to help with all levels of obedience training, and an awesome dog park you can take your dog to. I always recommend Leashes & Leads to anyone looking for a place to bring their dog.

My faithful GSP and I come to Rochester frequently from our home in suburban Chicago. L&L is our go-to place for play care when I am busy or lazy, the dog park areas are interesting and fun, and we love a bath before we travel back home. In fact, when I vacation I prefer to bring my doggie from Chicago to Leashes & Leads for boarding. I have never been disappointed by L&L in the 3 years I have been a loyal customer.
