The Board and Staff of the WRHS wishes to THANK everyone for their support. All proceeds generated from this fundraiser will be used to care for the homeless animals of Lawrence County. The White River Humane Society's goal is to end unwanted and abandoned animals in our community. Each adopted animal that leaves our shelter has been spayed or neutered.

Wonderful place! They take such good care of all animals. Adopted our dog from them several years ago. He is such good boy. We love him so much! The staff was so kind and helpful through the entire process.

When I adopted my fur baby from White River Humane Society the staff were friendly and very helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to adopt my best fur friend from.

I understand being short staffed and underpaid. However, everyone is short staffed right now and a lot of people are underpaid as well. The staff are unfriendly and rude. My friend was trying to get her cat back and they wouldn't accept her calls or reply to her comments on multiple Facebook post. They set the cat up for adoption and it was adopted.

They claim to have limited space, yet they will not reunite animals with their previous owners. Cats and dogs get loose! It happens. However, this shelter will NOT give the animal back to its RIGHTFUL owner. They claim if the owner truly cared for the animal, it wouldn't have gotten loose and that they're doing it all for the animals. Animals get loose all the time. And if they're truly doing it for the animals they'd want to reunite the animals with their rightful owners. I feel so sorry for the animals there.

In April 2021 I found my missing dog, and McKenna Goldsberry refused to let me confirm and transferred her to indyhumane and then refused to tell me where she sent her until August 2021 & 30 minutes after she was adopted. I tried numerous times to contact Mr. Buddy Hendrix and he repeatedly ignored me even on his public Facebook post. So I have no choice but to not only file complaint with Indiana's attorney general but the u.s. attorney general as well. Please if you see this and you adopted Izzy from Indyhumane the first week of August not only will I reimburse you all cost but I'll sponsor the adoption of your choice.

They are rude. They will say ur dog isn't there. Especially if it's little n cute! They wouldn't let me physically see the animals. I wanted to adopt! Tried to volunteer. Very rude about it so I didn't volunteer n I wanted to.

Will never ever donate another dollar to this place. People are constantly talking on Facebook about how outrageous the fees are. (This is all Facebook talk, never had to deal with them personally and hopefully never will.) If your animal gets picked up by them, chances are high of you never getting them back. They charge an outrageous fee, if you even can. Adopting animals from there is a ridiculous long drawn out process, you could go anywhere else with less of a hassle.

Their prices for everything is ridiculous, and they're rude to various people, yet beg for donations like people would want to donate to people like that. If you have found animals, BEWARE, because they charge a ridiculous fee to bring the animal there too. In my personal opinion, Monroe Counties shelter is MUCH better. I did however volunteer at the shelter back when I was younger and they actually cared about their customers, employees, and animals, but now it's all about money.

That's all they care about is money. The new owners are running this shelter into the ground because they're full of greed and no compassion. Makes me wonder how they can even sleep at night doing what they do to people, but none of my business. I will never donate another dollar since all this has been brought to my attention. Deal with them if you'd like, but my advice is don't.

Right away I could tell I was gonna have to play the game of acting like I wasnt anxious to see the kittens they have. I'm sure its not a great job and the turnover is probably high, but my wife was in there Saturday and was told we could come back on Tuesday to get the kitten she liked and it would only cost $25. Only to find out that only applies to 7+ yr old cats when I went there.

Even though they called the vet we go to and confirmed that we are responsible long time pet owners we still have to wait for weeks for him to be fixed. I have to wonder how many animals get put down that would otherwise have a home if they ran it a little differently.

Picked up the lovely Chica from WRHS on Saturday the 7th and everything went well. Staff was helpful, the adoption process was easy enough, there's no doubt that they care about the dogs and that's why they are picky with the people they let adopt. (I would be as well, especially working in a shelter.) The kennel area has always been clean when I've gone by and though it's loud in there, that's to be expected.

I wish some of the dogs could have some more exercise time, but I understand how that may be difficult to near-impossible for the staff. At least they have that nice fenced-in dog run for that purpose. The people who work there do their best, and they care. That much is obvious!

The staff needs to better communicate to people interested in adopting an animal how many people are actually interested. We were told so many different things by the workers there. and not one time did anyone mention there were several applicants for the same dog. EVER! We were even told to call back to get a time for pick up after the dog received the last shots. After adopting several animals and donating each month. We won't be back to adopt from white river humane Society! Very poor and unprofessional staff on 7/24/2021
