Bloom and Bark LLC consists of owners Kim (the boss) and self-taught glass blower Tim, along with 3 large rescued dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses and 26 chickens. Primarily, we blow glass, we sell glass, and we love glass. Creating beautiful art from fire, gravity, and air is something that is inspiring to many, yet it is an ancient skill that few practice today.
What do you get when you mix sand, soda ash, lime, a smattering of other materials and heat? GLASS! Originating many years ago in Syria, glass blowing has evolved into a fine craft/art practiced by a few eclectic folks. Running a hot shop requires 3 types of furnaces. The crucible kiln keeps the glass molten at all times.
Hot Glass Sculpture Class: (No experience needed!) Experience the magic of sculpting molten glass. Transform molten glass into Twisted Paperweights, Bunnies, Fish or Birds. Students choose colors melt them in the reheating oven, then coax the glass using gravity, wooden molds and glass sculpturing tools to create their own work of art.
An interactive art installation created by glass artist Tim Blair in collaboration with the Villages of Van Buren, and Villages Folk School. 50 hand blown clear glass orbs are created and hidden along trails in Lacey Keosauqua State Park, and County Conservation trails in Van Buren County. To encourage folks to get out and have fun experiencing the beautiful trails of Van Buren County.

This is a must do experience for everyone. Tim was amazing. Gentle and patient with us clumsy people. Hot glass is like soft butter. Keep the rod rolling. Blow! Lol. What a great experience

Took the glass blowing class with my family. It was a lot of fun and Tim, the instructor, is great with gently dealing with a wide level of student ability.
