This pet store has intersting things and carries a lot for a small facilty, however, sells a variety of pets with no room to seperate the breeds. Ferrets, in particular. They had incorrect bedding(one that can cause blockage, I rescue ferrets and have seen multiple issues and a high vet bill due to this issue), the bedding was in their food dish and the food was too dry for the 10 week old ferret to consume easily.
The lighting was too bright for ferrets and they have no burrowing space to escape it. At 289.00, one would think, for that species, they would have better accomodations, for an exotic of that type. Now the staff are great, friendship. Infirmary and the facility itself is very clean but they lack the education for proper care and when i night a pellet tire litter and shed if she could use it to replace the shredded, colored, type shaving. she objected and stated she would have to discuss that with Angela(the manager). I told her I would like to call her myself, to explain but was denied that info.

Their animals here are not properly taken care of at all. the birds are over crowded, the bunnies seem way too young and small, I don't know much about these but I so know about chinchillas, they are very specific creatures and the one I saw in there today not one thing was right about his environment. First, he was very stressed in this environment - very very loud, he wasn't covered so the bright lights were right on him when he shouldve been sleeping this time of day, and his cage was right out in the open for people to open his cage and touch him. he was clearly distressed tensly huddled in the back of his cage. Second, his cage was not suitable at all.
First the entirely plastic cage is very dangerous if he decides to chew it (and he will!) the bedding has to be the worst. the colorful paper bedding can be toxic if he eats it and the water bottle leaks into the bedding making it wet, when he sits in this he can get wet and if you know chinchillas this is very dangerous and can lead to infection and death if not corrected quick enough.
I spoke to an employee - who I believe may have been an owner - about it and she didn't even seem to care. Kids keep coming up and poking at him. I cannot express how badly I feel for this chinchilla and I hope he goes to someone knowledgeable about chinchillas or someone actually willing to learn. If I had the money and space I'd take him in a heartbeat but he's overpriced and I don't even have close to enough money in my account nor a spot to put him for quarantine from my chinchilla so she doesn't get sick if he happens to be.

I love this place. The family that runs it has always been so helpful. I used to pay astronomical prices at Petco for crickets and worms so I'm so grateful that I found a store that is so reasonably priced. What I paid 60 bucks for at a big box store costs me half that here, and the bugs are way healthier looking.

This is the best pet store in a hundred miles easily. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. They have a amazing tropical fish selection, birds, rodents etc. They sell feeder mice and rats. We use there pet food reward program and love it. Trust me you won't be disappointed if you go in. They also offer grooming and other services as well. Before going to a petco or similar try these guys out even if it's a drive, it's so WORTH it!
