The new calculation made barrels prohibitively expensive with shipping costs being as much as $100 per barrel. A. A clean plastic 55-gallon barrel that has not contained harmful substances can be used for a K-9 Kondo doghouse kit. The barrel must have a minimum bottom diameter of 21. Maximum diameter is 24.

We have been using K-9 Kondos at our rescue for over 10 years now. Our kennels are outside and though we are in the high desert, it does get into the low teens at night in the winter. The Dog Dens keep our dogs toasty warm on those cold winter nights. Additionally, they lasted a long time with a variety of dogs. We recently purchased new ones to replace some of the ones we bought 10 years ago. The dog dens are definitely a great purchase for our purposes.

I just gave my four Dog Dens away. The doors are great.but the lids pop off, one has a hole chewed through the side, and you can't rinse underneath them unless you put them up on blocks. Plus, there's no. way for water to drain if a wet dog goes inside, so the floors corrode. Two stars because I like the doors. And their barrel house kits are very good, and worth the price. The Dog Dens, not so much.

This is by far the best money you can spend on a dog house for your pet. It's the last doghouse you will ever buy, galvanized exterior that dogs can't chew. Insulated, keeps dogs warm in the winter and cool in the summer time. I own six of the dog den 3 and my oldest one still looks brand new and my dogs are beasts and they can't destroy them.
