We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to providing quality care throughout their life. We practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with specialists in order to provide the best care for our patients. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, complete surgical facilities, and a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Jacksonville-Cabot Veterinary Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet.
In our ongoing effort to make your pet's health care as convenient and easy as possible, you can now request a refill for your pet's prescription by submitting the following form. Please be sure to fill in all the requested information. The prescription refill must be approved by a doctor. We will notify you via email or phone when your pet's prescription is approved and ready to be picked up. We will also inform you of the total cost of the prescription, and will request a credit card number by phone at that time.

Dr. Vaughn and his staff helped my family and I through the very difficult decision to have our long time family pet euthanized today. He was very professional and compassionate as he explained the process to us as well as the care that he took with our dog when performing the procedure. It was an emotional decision and event and he provided the comfort and reassurance to us that we needed to tell her goodbye and free her from her pain and suffering. Thank you Dr. Vaughn for helping us through this difficult time.

Ever since covid, they take the pets in and you don't get to talk to the doctors unless they come out. I took my two dogs in for yearly checkups and left with a $400 bill. In their defense, they found evidence of worms in one of the dogs, but nothing catastrophic. I love the people there, but it's just unaffordable now.

We've taken our pets here for years and yesterday was our first bad experience. We took our dog to the groomer she had an appointment with them and an appointment with the vet for some reason she did not keep her appointment for 1045 and she spent all day in a kennel in a new space with other animals which she is very timid and doesn't like new places and gets scared over everything they told us they would call when she is ready they never called and at 330 and showed up to get her and they said she was done it should not take that long for shots and a checkup if she has an appointment and they need to call if they say they are going to

Earlier this year I took my family cat in for declawing and she started getting afterwards. Turns out the medicine they gave me to give to her said on the informational paper that came with it that was only intended for dogs and could cause some kind on internal organ shutdown in cats. We had used them for years prior, but this one screw-up could have killed our newest cat. Never using them ever again.

Terrible vet. Doesn't care about the animals. Took my dog in and left her for the day and was told she had lots of dirt in her gut and took her home and I almost lost her that night so took her to another vet next day and she had congestive heart failure and her lungs were filled with fluid. Ugh. This vet does not know how to use a stethoscope.
