The folks operating Pet World are absolutely top-notch as far as I'm concerned. My wife and I are new to the area, and from my initial phone call inquiring about frozen raw food for dogs, they understood our needs perfectly. The employees here seem fully committed to the health and well-being of animals, and they're available and willing to help give suggestions and recommendations should you need. This store is certainly not the closest pet supply store to us, but we absolutely will continue to make regular visits to support them.

Helpful knowedgable and friendly staff make this a great place to shop. I love kitty city and often bring Daisy my grey tiger to have her claws trimmed

Very good customer service I have to say, but the only thing I'm disappointed in is I tried to return a cage that wasn't working out for my new little critters. I have the receipt, I cleaned the cage, the only thing I didn't have was the box as it got ruined. They said I was unable to return it. Still other than that. The people were friendly.

Great pet store and place to adopt well cared for and loved cats. Huge area of supplies for animals. Get to know this place and you will go nowhere else.

I just had a very poor experience speaking to Debra Alton- in charge of the cats that get adopted here. My 20 year old cat, last left in the family passed away about a month ago. I'm search for new friends for my family so I came here to look at kittens and encountered Debra Alton. After attempting to inquire about kittens, she insisted/borderline demanded that my disabled mother and grandmother be present.

When I informed her that they would not be able to accommodate her request because of accessibility concerns, her whole demeanor changed and she told me that "She was an expert and would not give me kittens", implying that kittens are way out of my capabilities to provide for.hello I'm almost 30 and my family has had cats our whole life, I take great care of our pets and I was standing right in front of her. Sounds pretty discriminant against handicapped individuals right?

I told her that to her face. She said she wasn't, but she did not become like this until she learned my mother and grandmother don't go up and down staircases well.end of conversation for me.think about it. Take your business elsewhere like me. I look forward to a friendly experience somewhere else.

Amazing store with a ton of variety. We travel here from Dorchester for their treat and food selection and their raw dog food as well. The staff has always been so friendly and accommodating. Yesterday we bought a pair of sugar gliders and the employee who helped us was extremely knowledgeable on the care of these critters and helped us pick everything out. We already love our new pets and are so happy we got them from such a great store!

This place has everything you could think of for your pet, it is organized and clean, and the staff is really nice and helpful. Kitty City rents space there, and we adopted our boy, who we renamed Finn, from Debra. Debra is lovely, and these little guys are loved and cared for very well. Finn made himself at home almost instantly, and was fast asleep at the end of our bed that very night.

If you need your own furry foot warmer, I suggest checking out some of these beautiful cats and kittens. Debra is there several days a week, and we were able to bring Finn home the very first day we met him. Then go shopping. Like I said, they have Everything!

They were the only shop to have what I wanted (I drove from NH), and the selection was great. Pricing was fair; however, on the phone/ in person they really don't have the strongest people skills and would have lost the sale if I was in any mood other than "absolutely want the product and don't care about anything else." I WOULD NOT want to have to resolve any issue with them though as I would assume you'd have to go legal for a gold fish return.

I love "kitty cat world" as I call it-I love seeing all the kitties in the "kitty city" they have and playing with them-plus they have a great selection of foods and supplies. They even have a separate bird room where you can talk to Blue the macaw.

We love this place. The dog gets to pick her treat for the visit every time we go to get more pet food. We also adopted out cat from here and it was a lovely experience.

This place has been around since for as long as I can remember. I recently got a hamster and have been doing a lot of research on enclosure space etc. and I realize that the enclosures for their little rodent friends are so small it's so sad! The very LEAST AMOUNT of floor space should be 450sq inches per hamster and they should have enough paper bedding to burrow.

This is ideal to make a happy hamster. They had pellet bedding and this white fluff inside their plastic hide out. It looked like the stuffing of the inside of a teddy bear. I have no idea if it's safe and I would not recommend anyone to use it. It's SMALLER than the hamster enclosures at petco and they offer kaytee clean and cozy for them instead of the pellet bedding. even my daughter mentioned their cages were too small when when we left!

They also sell really small hamster cages like the critter trail cages that encourages ignorant first time hamster owners to buy these kinds of cages. The only thing I liked was that the younger staff were REALLY kind and friendly and they do offer a variety of stuff at a higher price point. There was other older woman just seemed like a mean lonely cat lady with one too many cats.

She got pissed at my kids and I who were giving attention to the cats that were trying say hello to us. She said that they wouldn't be sticking their paws out of the cage if we didn't stand so close to the cage, so in other words she wanted us to "get the fuck away from HER cats." But looking back I can recall this store has never been kid/family friendly because I recall them giving me a hard time when I was a young adult looking to buy rabbit food and walked by to say hello to the cats.

Just word of advice, don't stop by where the cats are caged because the cat lady will spazz out. If you want to adopt or even want to donate and spend some time around some animals, try MSPCA adoption center, they are very friendly there.

Excellent staff that is extremely knowledgeable. They know everything. Prices are a little high but worth it to support small business. They are animal people.the best kind

If you have a parrot, this is hands down the best pet store. They have everything. My girl eats Harrison's, and the only place I've been able to find it is online. Pet World is the only pet store that actually carries it. I was over the moon excited when I saw it on their shelf. They have a huge bird area, filled with more toys than I have ever seen. They also have parts to build your own toys for your feathered friend. If you have a bird, this is THE petstore to go to.

Very disappointed by the service of some of the staff. i asked looking for advice and all i got was harsh criticism. the woman that was helping me deterred me from ever coming back. the woman "helping" me did not offer me actual advice on a fish i was looking for, i asked nicely for information on them because i did not know much and she just told me i had to buy all this new stuff, and i could not get the fish i was looking for. after a quick search on google i found out that she was wrong and i was just fine with what i had. i tried to get the fish, which were 2 small guppy's and she said i couldn't. i went down the street to petco and ended up spending much less then i would have and was greeted with a smile there. my fish are living their best life with me now, no thanks to her. i would say save your money and peace of mind and go anywhere else.

Fantastic pet shop, arguably the best in metro west. Super clean, animals well cared for, knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I came in here for the first time and I definitely will not be returning. First of all I was ignored entering the store. I then asked for help with fish and this young woman with blonde hair scowled at me and made me feel like a burden. Her attitude was despicable. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but she looked like she doesn't sleep and smelled strongly of cigarettes which I would not want my pets around.

The store is messy and overpriced and the floors are filthy. I like to support small businesses but this place is out of my area and I would never recommend them or go back here. Just go to pet co it's right behind that store.

I'm a regular client there, and the employees are very helpful EXCEPT Dan, the manager. I had a unpleasant experience with him. He was rude, seems to be in a bad mood, I had to ask him about my rewards offers, he told me I didn't have any offer. I then told him there is a offer if buying big bag of primal freeze dried, I could get a bag of bone broth.

He then left the cashier, without saying anything to me, and came back and said "which one do you want chicken or duck" "I said my dogs are allergic to those, could I have pork? ", he said "no" he said the offer is only for chicken and duck. I then said to him that is not what the ad says. He got irritated and told me, no just those two flavors. I was trying to find out if he just ran out of the other flavors, or if I could have a rain check.

He said "no". I told him um paying $40 for this bag but you dont have the offer to hand me, can you give me something else then.he said "no, pork was discontinued." He never apologized like a customer service usually does, he was cold and short in his answers. I paid for the primal food, and he never, ever said "thank you". I almost told him he should not be at the counter if he is unpleasant with clients.

All the other employees there have always treated with respect, and willing to nicely answer my question. He should not be the manager as he cannot serve as a example. I give 3 stars based only the employees performance. I suggest the manager should take some classes on customer service.

Pet World has better prices than other big chains. When I went there to get my dog a new tag the folks were very helpful. They have a medium sized store but plenty of people working there who help out. Lots of different products, fast in and out. I recommend Pet World.

2 weeks ago I went in to look at hedgehogs the girl who helped me was very nice and let me hold all the ones I wanted to see. I held off for 2 weeks before coming back to get one to do a little more research and get the supplies I needed. The older guy that helped today was very off putting to say the least. He immediately acted like I wasnt even worth the time and the look on his face was just annoying to me.

Like dude take tht look off ur face ur already off putting to look at. So anyway I asked to see all the hedgehogs they have so I could make a decision and everytime I asked to see a different one (I only asked to see 2) he would roll his eyes. All in all he needs to take a customer service class or get fired. And the only reason this place got 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the first girl and their animals are well taken care of.

Today was my first time visiting and it certainly will not be my last. My friend and I came here specifically to see, and find out more information about hedgehogs. Not even 5 minutes of looking around Dan came up to us- let us hold a little guy, and most importantly gave us facts and answered all of our questions. I loved his honesty explaining that this wasn't a pet for everyone.

They are a lot of work! We also wanted to see the sugar gliders! I've loved them forever. Again, Dan was so knowledgeable and passionate about talking about them. I think my best friend will be getting 2 in the future ( they should always have a friend- never knew!) Their selection of food, toys, accessories, cats/ kittens up for adoption!? was above and beyond.

The employees were all so compassionate, you could tell how much they care for all their animals- it was so refreshing. Even though this place is almost a hour and a half a way- I will make the trek for my cat.

The employees at Pet World are the best! I have an adopted chihuahua who was very overweight when I adopted him. He has a finicky stomach and cannot tolerate many dog foods. Right away, Pet World helped me find the perfect food for him (Fromm Gold Coast Weight Management) and now he's at his ideal weight. Then, when I went back today on vet's orders to start feeding lower sodium food because of a newly diagnosed heart condition, they helped me find a better low sodium dog food, showed me omega suppliments for heart health, and dog cookies with no salt and low calories to help him keep the weight off without worsening his condition. Every employee I've ever dealt with at Pet World has been super helpful.

Awesome place. We have dogs and small critters (rabbits and rats) and can always find cool things here that you can't find anywhere else. There's a great selection of raw food and raw bones for dogs. Lots of cool toys and chews for rabbits! Always had good interactions with the employees. Had to dock one star since they sell rabbits, though. It'd be cool if they housed spayed/neutered rescue rabbits, the way they have SPIN's rescue cats for adoption.

I've only shopped here three times in the past two to three years or so, since I don't live anywhere near them. I only go if I'm passing by or will be in the neighborhood Today was one such day, and went here since we were low on our wet cat food. I love their Pet Adoption Center with all the adorable kitties. I always take several minutes to take look at them.

Should I ever need to adopt a cat though, it won't be from here. Their adoption fees are about 50% higher than most shelters and other adoption centers, like those at some Pet Smart stores charge. On plus side, they always seem to have a lots of nice kitties to choose from with a quite extensive history and description of their personality, which conveniently located in binders sitting in front of the quite large cage and an overhead cat walk (yes literally a cat walk!).

I do love their selection of cat foods; the have more variety of them in such a comparatively small space than at any other store I've shopped. They have brands I've not seen anywhere else. The prices are a mix on the cat food. The premium brands for the most part seem pricier that other stores, but their mainstream brands, such as Science Diet, are priced quite competitively. However, some premium brands are priced fairly competitively, so you have to know your prices and choose those priced more fairly.

Other items, such as cat condos, treats, wild bird food, and such are generally very expensive. They also have a rather archaic check-out system, not making use of the bar codes that every product comes with. The drawback to this from a customer's perspective is that check-out takes longer. If I lived nearer to them, I'm sure I would not shop here much more often than I do now due to their high pricing structure.

I seriously cannot believe the bad reviews on customer service! I am actually writing BECAUSE of the amazing customer experience I had. I was looking at the sugar gliders when one of the managers (I believe) came over and started talking to me about them. I THINK his name was Dan? Maybe? I meant to write this review last month when I had actually asked his name, lol. SORRY! I'll have to chalk that up to pregnancy brain. Anyway- he knew soooo much about them and really educated me about what I would need, care, food, etc.

I didn't walk out with one (because you really should buy 2!) but I'll definitely be back in the future to get them. One thing that I did point out to him was how unbelievably clean the store was! He genuinely seemed to take pride in how often they pick up after the store. I mean- I almost walked out because I didn't think there were any animals there.

I couldn't smell the usual pet shop smells of pets! Besides this- they were well stocked in a variety of dog foods and pet supplies. I would absolutely take the drive back over. Give them a try!

Poor service! High price! Ignoring customers! Go somewhere else! Why did the owner hire staff like robots? without smiling without saying hi and totally ignoring customers The old woman who has long straight hair try to force us to buy something we don't need with a bad attitude. How ridiculous it is! Won't come back!

They have cool Kitty adoption center so if you are looking for a new friend stop by. You can also stop by to play with these cuties. There are toys you can use to play with the kitties. There are some felines along the front window and a larger floor to ceiling house for them to live in while they wait to be adopted. They have pet cookies and cakes and have a refrigerated section of products as well. They have this giant bulletin board of business cards outside listing a variety of people and places from vets, boarding, grooming, walking and more.
