Over the years our business name has changed and we have evolved to sourcing 100% of our puppies and adult dogs from shelters and rescues. Many of these pups have a back story. Our mission is to go forward in matching these pups that need a home with a loving family and forever home. First step is to fill out an adoption application (located on this website under the "Puppy Adoption Process" menu or on-site at TPSA).
Next, present the hard copy to a manager on site at TPSA. This will prompt an informal interview and question/answer session.

Due to a Washington Twp. Local Ordinance and the urging from family, friends and animal lovers - instead of closing our doors to the public we decided to convert The Puppy Stop to The Puppy Stop and Adopt. We no longer will be selling USDA Certified Breeder Puppies, but Puppies that have been rescued from animal shelters and high kill shelters from around the country and from Puerto Rico as well.
If you are interested in adopting a puppy, we do have a simple puppy adoption process we need to follow to ensure the happiness of you and your new puppy! You need to complete an Adoption Application in which we require a veterinarian reference and two personal references. We do our best to try and provide puppies that are spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, however, if the pup is not spayed/neutered we do require that the pup be spayed within 6 months of adoption.
Okay, you've done your homework and you want to adopt. You've read up and know the puppy you wish to bring home that suits you and your family. You know the size and temperament and even whether a male of female pup would be a better companion for you. It is now time to take your healthy puppy home.

Adopted a lab mix a little over a year ago, she is the best dog I could have ever asked for. She's so healthy and such a sweetheart. They rescued her from Puerto Rico (love4satos) where her and her litter were left stranded on a dog beach. I've reached out to that organization and made a great connection with them. However, she was over $600. I was told the price included her flight here which is understandable. I've heard of bad experiences with this place, but I definitely got lucky with Honey!

For a long time my family have been searching for the perfect EMS dog. It took awhile visiting many shelters and filing applications. We finally found "The puppy stop" located on fries mill rd in Turnersville NJ. We've had Arlo for almost a week now and he's already part of the family. Seems like we've had him forever. Long story short Arlo day one was dry heaving and had diarrhea but we just thought it was stress and diet change.
Yesterday he wasn't eating nor drinking and started to vomit foam. I took him to pet urgent care where i then got the worst news anyone pet owner could get. Arlo tested positive for PARVO. We rushed him to the ER where he will be staying for treatment over the next couple days. Went to the puppy stop today in hopes of them agreeing to stop adoptions as of now and reach out to the most recent adopters.
She had no information on where the puppies actually came from. Just that they were rescues from PR. Super sketchy. This apparently isn't the only time this has happened with the Puppy Stop and "adopt". Also please do not adopt here until they reform their adoption process.

I highly recommended Puppy Stop if your looking for your newest member to the family, our puppy Lincoln aka Rene, is a lab, beagle mix. He is the best. The staff was very informative and courteous and patient. Before even coming here I did read a lot of the reviews, and the negatives don't make any sense. We did have a little scare with blood in his poop but this was mainly from what our vet said was most likely to the food change and will clear up.
The Puppy Stop paid for the vet visit as they laid out in the contract/paperwork we received when we picked him up. Lincoln has been so full of energy and what I can see will be a great addition to this family. The adoption process is way easier than the shelters' processes. Most if not all local shelters have many applicants and that's even if the dog is question is still up for adoption. This was the best decision we made.

We adopted Loki (Lucas) who is the best puppy we could ask for. Happy and healthy. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. These puppies are not "over priced". We adopted Loki for $600. My little yorkie mix, which another pet store tries to sell puppies as "designer breeds" was $2,000. As for puppies having parvo, I saw no evidence of any puppies being extremely sick or walking around and sleeping in their own filth.
Place was clean and the puppies are taken care of. edit 12/15/19: i no loner have this dog as me and my boyfriend broke up. however, upon learning more about this place i would take my review back. I'm a veterinary assistant and currently have had to hospitalize a few puppies who tested positive for paro that came from here.aslo, learning that a friend from a different hospital is currently hospitalizing parvo puppies from here as well.

I was pleasantly please with the stop and adopt. You are concerned when you go to adopt a puppy, however, the young lady there was very informative. She took her time and answered every question I asked. She let the children interact with the puppy and I loved how clean the store was and how the pups were in nice clean quarters. This was very important to me the condition of the pups quarters. My pup was a rescue from PR and I am glad I and my family could help and love and give another precious animal a chance to live.
