Pet Retreat at Paramount Farm celebrated its opening in the Fall of 2006. We are a full-service animal boarding facility located on a scenic 30+ acre farm in Leitersburg, Maryland. Our mission is to provide exceptional and individual care for pets and to meet the specific needs of their owners. Our office hours are: Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Services
Our canine guests are housed in indoor dog rooms with heated floors and optional "doggie cots". Various room sizes and options are available to meet your pet's needs. Dog owners are welcome to bring their pet's favorite bedding. Ample outdoor time is provided daily in safe and secure exercise and play areas within our scenic farm environment. Other available services for dogs include bathing and private walks on Paramount Farm (additional fees apply).
I have boarded my dog, Sally, at Pet Retreat several times; the last time being for long-term. The employees are always pleasant and very knowledgeable. I have absolutely no complaints about their care and attention to her. Sometimes, I have to send medicine along for them to administer to her. The kennels are clean and neat.

We have boarded our animals here multiple times and thought this place to be "always nice and professional" safe and very clean. We even recommended to many others. We were we so heartbreakingly wrong! Pet Retreat is great on the surface but NOT what it appears to be behind closed doors. We are so utterly ashamed and disappointed in the owner, Carol Veil and two of her staff but mainly the owner because she is the one who can mandate change, get proper training for staff and let go those who do not abide by strict standards. Carol definitely needs to take off her blinders to what occurs when she is not present and immediately make change when a good customer calmly informs her what occurred, even giving her the opportunity to make things right.
Install some video cameras so you can review what actually occurred (this is our hindsight). We DESERVED exactly what we paid for - Safe, clean, HUMANE treatment of our animals. This did not occur. Never once did we receive a phone call informing us there was a potential problem with one of our pets. We even called to check on our pets and not even then were we informed. We are utterly shocked, disappointed, and heartbroken. We will never board there again.
