What sets us apart. We are proud to provide our clients with 24 hour on-call emergency services. The doctors work regularly scheduled hours, but also rotate call duty so that our client's pets are seen locally if an emergency should arise after-hours or on holidays. Ridgefield Animal Hospital was purchased in 1985 and was incorporated in 1993.
Ridgefield Animal Hospital offers a wide variety of medical and surgical services for pets of many species. We also offer boarding and baths with ear cleaning and nails included. When your pet is seriously ill, please call our office for a same day appointment. Coming in while our entire team is at work helps us do our best for your pet.
Ridgefield is proud to say that we have been AAHA approved since 2018. American Animal Hospital Association is the accrediting body for companion animal hospitals in the United States and Canada. To become AAHA accredited, companion animal hospitals undergo regular, comprehensive onsite evaluations by AAHA veterinary experts who evaluate each practice on more than 900 standards of veterinary care. Not all animal hospitals are accredited. In fact, only about 12-15% of animal hospitals in the United States and Canada are accredited.
All routine admissions and discharges are done during our normal office hours. We try our best to accommodate everyone's schedules and needs when it comes to appointments for your pet's medical care. You may find that you have to call a few days in advance if a particular doctor is requested, or if a particular day or time is needed (especially our 7pm nights or Saturdays).

The doctors are very knowledgeable and courteous as long as you have a regular problem and have an appointment. I have 4 dogs that have been seen for many years there. My Boston terrier hurt her leg and was crying out and DURING business hours I was told that if I brought her in, I would be charged an emergency bill because she didn't have an appointment!
Well I didn't foresee ahead of time that she would get hurt and cry out. As much as I have been in there and spent lots of money in the past, even recently, I am highly upset that when I needed them the most, they were not there for my fur baby!

I have been struggling to improve my cat's health after her being misdiagnosed from another vet and finally had enough of it and decided to come here based on the reviews. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how well they treat both people and animals. After just one visit they were able to get my cat back to being herself again! Everyone from the receptionists to the doctor were all very pleasant people and were very understanding. Only downside was that the cost was a little high but based on the results it was definitely worth it! This will be my primary veterinarian from now on.
