Dogwood Kennels

My neighbor boarded his dog here a few weeks ago. I toured the place with him and found it to be very clean and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. I visited the dog a few times while he was being boarded, and, although he was happy to see me, he was equally happy to return to the lodge each time I left him. Highly recommend this place.

I used to love this place because the facility was pretty nice for the price. Since I started using them 2 years ago the price has increased drastically. Now it's just as expensive as another place, but twice as far.

Our dog boarded over night and came home with a large scare/injury to her leg. Facility said it was from laying on her leg. Would not go back.

Brought in dog for overnight stay. When I picked up the dog my daughter noticed that her leg had an injury. I cleaned it up when I got home and call the facility which replied it's common and we shouldn't worry about it. They where not concerned. We will not be going back.

Great service. All attendees b send genuinely interested in the pets. Definitely use them again!

My dog attended this place as a trial day in anticipation of a boarding stay. They called me only 2 hours after dropping my dog off to come and pick him up because he would not come out of the cage. I was told he was not aggressive or attempting to bite or harm anyone, just that he would not come out of the cage. Given that this was a new environment for my dog, I am suprised that the staff did not give him more time to adjust to the environment before kicking him out.

The most disappointing part of this experence is that my dog got kennel cough from this 2 hours stay. My dog has never stayed anywhere outside of his home environment prior to his 2 hour stay at this facility, and 4 days after his stay, he began coughing. While the others may have had a positive experience with this facility, me and my dog did not.

Critical: Professionalism Really disappointed in the lack of communication by the staff prior to our boarding which left us in a really bad spot as we were leaving for vacation. Absolutely could have been avoidable with simple communication. Will not be going back.

The staff is absolutely fantastic here an this was my dog Titan's very 1st time away fr home an he is only 8 months old! Thx ya'll so very much 4 the care that ya'll showed 2 Titan!

I was really pleased with the quality of service I received. I had my yorkie groomed and she looked so cute and adorable. I was happy that Corissa worked really well with my pet baby, She understood what I wanted done, made suggestions and took the proper care of my baby. I was a little apprehensive to leave her. Only because a popular groomer which I will not name lol was not able to handle my pet baby special needs.

She doesn't like the brush and have a tendency to bite at it, I explained it all to Corissa and she knew just how to handle my baby to get the job done. She even allow her to cut her nails as well.

I love this place for how they care for and love my dog! He loves going here, gets excited when I start to pack his bag and when I get within 3 miles and turn onto Dogwood Road. I moved out of the area but still drive back an hour so my dog can stay here and I do not have to worry about him. Great staff, professional, reliable. Pls do not ever go anywhere! Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about Dogwood Pet Lodge. The staff there has certainly made me feel good about leaving my dog Ledo there if my wife and I are headed out of town or need a day to ourselves. Our first encounter was for a quick tour and a day session where Ledo got a chance to try out the facility. Dogwood sits on the outskirts of Baltimore City and has so much space that he comes home exhausted whenever I pick up Ledo.

Since that first time, we had boarded him twice, and each time, we could not be any happier than to see Ledo so happy. The Lodge offers grooming services; in fact, if your pet stays for a certain period of time, they will get a bath. Anytime we send Ledo there, I make sure that he gets a bath and a nail trimming because yes, my dog does deserve to get pampered as much as his owner.

The staff is completely professional from when I drop Ledo off to the time I pick him up. When I took the tour, I was told that there is somebody on the premises 24 hours/day as there is somebody that lives on the premises. My take, if you live in the Baltimore area, this is the place to go if your pooch needs a getaway.

I take my two little dogs here a lot and they both enjoy it. They haven't come home sick at all. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The staff knows my dogs by name and have adjusting their caretaking style based on their personalities. I feel at ease knowing they are in good hands when I'm away. They even have the patience to bathe, cut their nails, and trim my older ones hair. One dog is extra wiggly and the other doesn't like anyone touching him.

We LOVE Dogwood Pet Lodge! The staff are amazing - personable and caring. And most importantly our dog loves going there! I just dropped my dog off there and as always I feel he is in great care when I leave!

Both of my dogs love this place! They get so excited when they realize where we're going (about 3 miles before we arrive), that they start barking and wiggling with joy. I love the fact that there are grooming services there too, so my boys get a 'spa day' monthly. I always feel good about boarding my boys here - never a worry.

This was my first time taking my dog to a kennel and this left a bad taste in my mouth to see this. I will not go to this place again and will take my chances elsewhere. I didn't notice this until 2pm and picked her up at 8am so I feel the fault is on me. They washed the dog bed and I thought it was just a kind gesture but didn't know until I called about what is shown in this picture for them to tell me she peed in her bed, which she never does. Its always hard letting someone else take care if your dog.

This place use to be our favorite kennel. Unfortunately hands off management by the owner has killed the boarding services they provide. My dog was saturated with urine upon picking him up after a 2 night stay. I paid for all day camp, so he should have been outside playing all day, not sitting in a kennel. Very disappointed. If your dog is part of your family like mine - I recommend Camp Bow Wow, Deer Park or Noah's Arc - much nicer and repeatable facilities.

I love the owner and current staff! They are kind and knowledgeable. The facility has always been clean and climate controlled when I have stopped in there over the years. I feel confident in their ability to care for my dogs for daycare and/or boarding.

I bought My Pets here over Christmas and I was so glad I found Dogwood pet lodge because in the past I always worried about my pets well-being. They had an amazing staff greeted me upon arrival and answer all of my questions and concerns. I felt so safe leave my pets over the holidays.

My positive review of this place has everything to do with the staff they have at Dogwood. The girls who work there really care about all the dogs, and have the sweetest relationships with them. They always greet my pup by name with a smile and a rub. My dog really loves them- she gets almost as excited to see them as she is to see me! You can tell they take the time to assess each dog's personality and needs, and cater their playtime/playmates accordingly.

For example, my dog is deaf, and at first they were very careful with her to make sure she'd be safe. Once they realized she's o.k., they matched her with other dogs at her energy level, and she always has a great time. Once, I was stuck at work and couldn't pick her up on time- I had to board her at the last minute. I was so anxious about leaving her overnight, but they assured me they would take good care of my girl.

And of course, they did. When I picked my pup up the next day, she was her usual happy self- as she always is when I pick her up at dogwood! I feel safe leaving her because I can tell that the staff at dogwood love her like I do- and will always take good care of her.

My sociable, sassy, and speedy whippet, Jayda LOVES Dogwood Pet Lodge. She practically lets herself in when she arrives, greets the handlers happily, plays chase all day, and takes a long nap when she comes home. I love that it's halfway between home and work, the scenic drive, the rates, the amount of playtime she gets, and their ability to accommodate her for both daycare and boarding as needed.

Other places I checked into had higher rates and less playtime. Here, Jayda gets a good 2 hour morning play session, a rest period, and a good 2 hour afternoon play session. Jodie, the owner, is very responsive via email. The handlers are very kind. If you call, you most likely will receive the answering machine, but staff are very responsive about calling back. The only drawback I have is that I'd like to see more pictures of Dogwood's dogs on their facebook page when I need a break in my day!;-
