We consider dog training a skill and an art. It combines good instincts with learned skills and adds the ability to show those skills to others. Our training methods are primarily positve motivation. We want it to be fun for dogs and owners to learn! Although we are very effective at behavior interruption when needed, our emphasis is on teaching humans and dogs to focus on what we DO want, rather than on what we don't. The philospophy at ABC Obedience is a blend of modern motivational techniques with some tried and true traditional methods.

By phone: 203-458-2223. Best time to reach us directly is during office and retail hours: Mondays 3-6 pm, Thursdays 12-6 pm and Sundays 11 am to 1 pm. You (and your friendly, vaccinated dog) are welcome to stop by during those times as well. Just keep in mind that we are open to the public then and time may be limited.
It depends on what you need to work on with your dog or puppy. Groups are a great economical way to get basic skills and commands with distractions (no more than 8 dogs in our beginner classes). There are always opportunities to ask your questions in groups, but individual issues don't get addresses as well as if we are sitting in your kitchen and watching you in real life.
If your class time is not listed, just pick "misc" and write in class in comments section. Refunds/credits gladly given if class is full, so please feel free to register online to secure your spot (registrations are first come, first serve). We will confirm by text a few days before class. Don't worry if you don't get immediate confirmation, feel free to call if you have any questions. Please register at least 1 week before class. If registering online last minute after we are closed, we may not receive registration in time.
Please register as soon as possible, registration usually closes about a week before start date. All Classes require non-refundable pre-payment with pre-registration. Please check your schedule carefully and read our policies on the Terms and Conditions page. Classes are 45 minutes unless indicated.

Critical: Professionalism, Reliability i took my dog there a few years ago and there was 3 dogs and there was only like 5 in the class including mine that had behavioral issues after going there one family had to get rid of their dog and two dogs bit people. i wouldn't recommend them to everyone believe me they suck

I would highly recommend ABC for your dog training, it's made my life so much easier! I have 2 dogs that are rescues, one of which is 10 months old I thought would be nearly impossible to obey any commands until Robi worked with us. We are almost done with the course and I can't believe how far both have come as far as obeying commands and overall behavior.
