The Circle of Friends Humane Society gives pets of all sizes a 2nd chance for a permanent, loving home. It's the 2nd chance they all deserve. The responsibility for lost, unwanted animals rests with us all. We are all entrusted with the protection of those unable to care for themselves. Manvel Fire Department will be grilling that day with the proceeds of food sales to go to the Fire Dept.

This place amazes me. I called several times to inquire about barn/working cats never got an answer or a return call from them. I finally went online and filled out an application for their working cat program. I waited several weeks and never heard anything. I then on a trip to grand forks which is 45 minutes away stopped in. I had to track someone down who checked and said they didn't have an application from me.
I filled out the application in person with an employee who said they would get back to me. I never heard from them. It was coming into winter at this point a whole summer wasted. I waited for winter to be over and started again. 3 phone calls to them all of which I was told I would get a call back. They never reached out. Over a year of dealing with these clowns and I finally had enough.
I called 2 other humane society and both were super responsive and both over and hour and a half away. It took 9 days from filling out the application to get a call saying they had 3 working cats for my farm. I don't know how this place actually helps animals when they have willing takers for non housable cats and won't even return a call.

We were interested in a kitten, but were told she was under medical watch and not up for adoption. So they said they would take our phone number and call us when she was available. This was on a Saturday, and they are closed Sunday and Monday. I realized later that week that she was not up on their website as available for adoption anymore, so we called and were told that she was sold on Tuesday. Literally the next day they were open, she was sold, and we were not contacted. I'm pretty sure we were lied to, and the staff was holding her for a friend.

I really don't like being lied to and Circle of Friends was just a never ending trail of lies. Promised we would be contacted when the animal was released from quarantine. No calls to any of the phone numbers provided. We made multiple trips to see him and were not allowed to. First we knew he was out of quarantine was seeing him available on the website.
We already had said we would take him. The Circle of Friends has lost all credibility with us and we will no longer provide support. Estate planning is now removing them from receiving a large donation.

Our adoption did not work out due to some circumstances so we returned a dog less than 24 hours. Over a month later and still no refund, when we called them they said you have to request one. what kinda business has a request for refund? It was stated on return of the dog that one will be mailed shortly. Be very careful, they do not stand by what they say.

Had a great experience looking for a dog through this shelter! The staff, especially Shilo, were very helpful and up front about the needs of the animals, and great about helping us find the right dog for our family! They allowed us to meet and spend time with the dog we were interested in several times before we decided to adopt him, and were very patient and informative.

Great place that shows a great love for animals! The staff is very friendly and allows you to wander as you please (to an extent). The staff also does not attempt to "sell" you on any of the pets. They are very honest and aren't afraid to tell you if a certain pet won't work in your household (kids, other pets, etc.). The volunteers are quite knowledgeable as well, but also recommend talking to staff about more precise answers and so on. They do a great job and seem to love their jobs very much!
