This veterinary office has many pros and cons. The pros have kept me going there for years, but honestly I am always on the lookout for another vet due to the cons. First the pros: the vets all seem very competent and well trained, as well as compassionate and caring. The waits for a visit are short and the office is always clean and well maintained.
Now for the cons: they have a very conventional approach and a very "my way or the highway" way of dealing with everything that comes up. If you have a dog who is elderly or is immuno-compromised, and you would rather not have further vaccines, which is now recommended even by mainstream veterinary science, they will argue you to death to try to get you to have them anyway.
If you disagree with anything, and want a more "alternative" approach to anything, they will often give you a 10 minute lecture on whatever it is that you want to discuss alternatives for. They will even suggest that you are being an irresponsible owner if you do not agree with what they want to do to your animal. They don't want to have anyone place medication orders through Chewy.com and PetMeds.com and will interfere with that process if you ask for it, because they have set up "their own" web site they work with, and undoubtedly make money from.
This just creates an inconvenience for clients. In addition, if you need records and tests reports sent to another vet for a second opinion, they are very slow to do it and sometimes don't do it at all without multiple phone calls practically begging them to do so. So, to sum up, I really like some aspects of this practice, but as always, I am looking for a new vet, always.
To each his own, but if you are a person who likes to educate themselves about medical issues and options and discuss them with a medical professional who will actually consider other options in an open manner, this is not a good place to try to work with. There used to be a vet here who was much better about being open to options (Dr. Winters) but she has moved out of this area and is no longer with this practice. Please note that these are my opinions only and I realize that there are other opinions out there.

Just took my new dog Murphy who was a stray in the shelter to Novey for the first time and its amazing. Dr Scarpinato took good care of my pup. I thought that my dog was just itching from dry skin but she diagnosed him with an infection and was very attentive. She gave him a treatment to test for worms, gave me 5 different medications for my dog, trimmed his nails and all for only a little over $100 which is a great price! Thank you Novey animal hospital!

I've been taking my dogs to Novey Animal Hospital for over 14 years, and I have been so impressed with the caring attitudes of everyone there--from front office staff to the vet techs to the doctors themselves. They have gone beyond the usual care, to even provide subcutaneous fluids overnight when one of my pups had hemoragic gastroenteritis. All of the doctors there are so well-trained, and are happy to discuss the significance of the diagnostics. I'm happy taking my dogs there, and so are my pups!

I recently moved here from Jacksonville, FL, where I had an incredible vet. My 4 year old dog Bismarck needed his shots updated and a physical exam. I took to yelp and found Novey. I am so happy that I chose to bring my beloved dog to Novey. Everyone from the vet techs to the veterinarian herself was respectful, kind, and enamored with my dog. I felt so welcomed.
The facility is clean, roomy, and inviting. The staff were willing to work with my skittish pup to make sure that he felt comfortable. I was well-informed on everything that occurred and feel that the prices are fair for the quality of service received. I plan to keep returning to Novey!

I just recently took my 6 month old kind of nervous puppy for a check up. Dr. Winters was absolutely amazing she even sat on the floor with her while she got comfortable. They really put in the time to make sure that the animals are comfortable. This is an incredible vet and I will not be going anywhere else.

I took my cat that I adopted from a shelter to Novey for several years. The poor cat had asthma but I did not know it until she was near death and ended up at the emergency hospital. For several years I took the cat in to Novey and I described the symptoms and I think maybe even one time they heard her kind of gasping and choking and they told us it was something hereditary.
I did not think much of it since they acted like it was not important. One time this cat gnawed into an electrical cord and got shocked. I rushed the cat to Novey at 5:15 (they close at 6). They took the cat back in the back and a technician came out and said "our minimum emergency visit is $500. Do you want us to do what we need to save the cats life?".
Those were the exact words. I always hated them after that. Why I took the cat back I don't know. If I had not, maybe the cat would be alive because the emergency hospital vet said I should have had the cat on asthma spray. So NO. Just because you pay big bucks does not mean that you get good quality care. I doubt Novey and her vets are the worst in town. But they are shysters and don't really love animals. And it shows.

Petey and Of course LizaJane knows the entire staff quite well. LizaJane after two years is a fighting cancer but still a survivor. The whole entire staff are very loving and caring. Dr. Novey make sure her staff loves and has a deep concern for what they do. Their heart is behind their work and it shows. Them.and of course along with prayer I still have my LizaJane. Thank you all.for caring and making my fur babies feel very comfortable. Which makes me a happy parent!

I won't take my furboys (3 cats, one lab) anywhere else. Dr. Tiffany Hall is the best vet we've ever had. It can be pricy, but they are worth it. As another reviewer commented, you get what you pay for. I noticed the 2-star review below which stated that they will try to overmedicate your pets. I have had the exact opposite experience with Dr.
Hall which is why I won't take my guys anywhere else. She has always been very careful to keep me fully informed about when something is an emergency, and when something is a wait-and-see type of situation that will resolve on its own (often the latter). She also explains medications, procedures, etc., using language friendly to a layperson such as myself.
She plays with my pets while she examines them and they are about as comfortable as they'll ever be at the vet. If you call them for advice/information in between visits, they will respond promptly and do what they can to avoid having you bring your pet in for an exam. We once called Northwood with a simple question about our cat's behavior and they wouldn't give us any response except to say they needed to see him for a full exam, a week after they'd already seen him. Novey won't do that. They take the time and they don't take advantage of people loving their pets to charge them unnecessarily.

Terrific group of folks there. The vet techs are very caring and patient. I have used Novey for vet services and boarding. My experience with their boarding services has been great. The dogs leave there happy and in great shape. The dogs are happy when i am dropping them off which is telling. The vet services are great. The staff extends themselves on a regular basis to fit in emergency appointments. The front desk staff are very efficient and pleasant. Highly recommend that!

My dogs have been patients of Dr. Novey for the last 12 years. Dr. Novey and her staff are always wonderful, warm and caring. As far as vet care, they are top-notch. The boarding side of it.not so much. The prices are astronomical. They were charging us $45-$50 per night for our small dogs. That would have been expensive enough, but then they are always trying to squeeze more money out of you.
Want extra play time? (or your dog will be stuck in a cage for the entirety of the day?) then you have to pay extra? Are they on medicine? You have to pay extra. So, if you want to have a great vet, Dr. Novey is definitely among the best in Tallahassee. If you want boarding, there are definitely more affordable and equally safe options around town.

I just took my new kitten there for the first time and Dr. Novey and her staff were amazing! Coming from south florida I was worried about the price because others on here have said it was a bit much and I'm a student living on a limited income but it was pretty reasonable. Around $150 and I got a series of tests, vaccines, and deworming done on the little critter.
Of course you should always ask before if price is a concern and not just rely on my experience but it was more affordable than I expected. They gave him a little piece of aspirin to make sure he didn't get any swelling or soreness from the shots which I thought was great. They also gave me a kitten kit! It came with a flea treatment, a trial bag of kitten food and a couple other goodies/pamphlets.
And the amount of care that Dr. Novey took when examining him was great. She clipped his nails (no extra charge) and spoke to me about all the questions I had regarding his food. Very, VERY, happy. I'm so glad I was given a recommendation to go here. P.S. They have some adorable little kittens up for adoption!

I had Novey Animal Hospital recommended to me by a local friend who had seen Dr. Novey for palliative care for her elderly cat in the last years of her life. I have taken my labrador-pit mix Olive to see all three of the doctors, for everything from getting her fixed, treating her for the heartworms that she came home from the pound with, keeping her up to date on shots, and emergency visits over the past two and a half years.
I LOVE Novey animal hospital and would recommend this vet office to anyone. The doctors and staff are friendly, courteous, helpful and incredibly gentle with the animals. Olive never acts afraid to go to the vet, and they even sent me a gift certificate to Lucy and Leos for referring my friend to get his cat fixed. I wish I could give 10 stars!

My girlfriend and I took her black lab here to be boarded for a week while we went to Las Vegas. We were VERY impressed with the office. It was clean and spacious. They had a LOT of staff members working at one time, so we were helped immediately without any delays. They seem very organized as well. Only reason I'm deducting a star is due to the price. This is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. You pay a premium for great service.it's definitely more expensive than most other vets I've ever been to.

This is a review from Charlie. I am typing it for him since his paws hit the wrong keys most of the time. I am Charlie, a Ragdoll--mix of Burmese and Siamese, bred to shed little fur, to never jump up on the furniture ( well, most of the time), not a predator, extremely gentle and lovable--Oh, I guess that is enough bragging about me. Oh yeah, I am HANDSOME!
When my master wants to get me up to date on my Feline Leukemia Vaccination, FVRCP Annual Vaccination--oh, you know, all of those shots, she takes me to the Novey Animal Hospital where they check my ears and rear! I think I usually pass the test, cause they give me a kitty treat! I love Novey! I really am glad that my master takes such good care of me. Purrr-rrrr!
