Green Chimneys is a multi-faceted nonprofit organization helping young people to maximize their full potential by providing residential, educational, clinical and recreational services, in a safe and supportive environment that nurtures connections with their families, the community, animals and nature.
Green Chimneys is founded on the philosophy that it is healthy and therapeutic for children to interact with nature and provides a treatment setting in which all interactions with staff and the environment have a potential therapeutic value. We strive to give students every opportunity to be a part of the environment, discover their own special talents, and develop the skills and confidence to grow into independent young adults.
Established in 1947, Green Chimneys offers therapeutic education, environmental and recreation programs, and clinical treatment including animal-assisted therapy for children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. The interconnection of human well-being, animal welfare and environmental stewardship is ingrained in Green Chimneys' founding principles.
Decades of practice in human-animal interactions and nature-based therapies have distinguished Green Chimneys as an innovator in special education and residential treatment. The interconnection of human well-being, animal welfare and environmental stewardship is ingrained in Green Chimneys' founding principles and nature-based programs are an integral part of our campuses and organizational identity.

I came here as a camper a while back, good lord, what a bad way to remember a summer! I did 3 weeks of being bullied and taunted! Nobody cared! I was barely even allowed to swim in the indoor pool (which was gross anyway). Good thing my mom was nice enough to let me finish the summer with one week at "Camp Combe." That being said, that was over 5 years ago, hopefully, this camp is a better experience in 2019!

I mentally couldn't handle the stress that was put on me at Green Chimneys. I would show up on Monday Morning and go to class. In an 7-8 grade class you are being given 3-4 grade work which is easy for me so when I'm done I have to sit for 10 minuets while listening to 10 autistic children having a problem

Best chose I ever made for my son. He's done a 180. I love all of the staff. And they always communicate with me which is the most important thing. My son is growing up to a polite and big hearted person. Don't get me wrong it been a lot of work between the school and I. But we've been a great team. We love you all!
