Great first time visit! This store was a one woman show from washing, grooming, to cashier and she made it look effortless. When you arrive, there are two sets of doors, a double door and a single door on the left. Make sure to use the left one and ring the doorbell to be let in. Once inside, you'll be greeted by dog foods and supplies to the front and the wash and groom center past an open door to the right.
You have the option to wash your dog yourself or have it done for you at one of the four available dog wash stations. We opted to wash our dog ourselves and were give two aprons and towels. Because it was our first time at a dog wash, she showed us how to use the machine. Make sure to bring your own shampoo or conditioner, but if you don't they have some available for purchase. Personally, she went above and beyond when she handpicked a shampoo for us with flea and tick after we mentioned heading to a national park and took the time to call us shortly after leaving when she noticed we forgot our dog brush.
The total cost of a wash, shampoo, and extra flea and tick application came to a total of $40 which is extremely reasonable. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5/5 was because everytime I left to get something I had to ring the doorbell to be let in and it was extremely hot that day. However, once she noticed my frustration, she unlocked the door for me to make it easier on me.

I love this place and so do my dog Dominic and cat Sebastian. I have been a customer for several years now and they really do a good job grooming my dog, he always walk in the door with no problem and when they are finished he always smell like a little gentleman. I took my cat and they did a great job trimming his nails. The service is fast, they are very friendly and the prices are good. I would highly recommend you take your little four legged family members to "Wash the Wag"

I mean, how do you rate a self wash? I did an amazing job! 5 stars! Ok. Seriously. I came in today for the first time to use the self serve station. At 115, 85, and 60lbs, my squad is just too big to bathe in the tub anymore. I brought my big buddy in first. The door was locked, so I rang the bell. Dee answered and walked me through everything, leaving me to wash but let me know where she would be if I needed any help.
Each station has a gate, an opening in the tub for ease of entry & exit, aprons, hooks for leash/collar/purse, a hose with individual faucet so you can control the temp, and a dryer with 2 speeds. There are towels all over and you can use as many as you need, in addition to face wipes. You have to bring your own shampoo. When you're finished (take as much time as you need), just leave the sink the way it is, and the towels on the floor and they handle everything for you.
I brought the big guy home and immediately returned with the other 2. Multi-dog discount! Absolutely worth the 3 mile drive and $$$. This is definitely going to be a place we visit frequently.

It was cute and I love to support these types of businesses. I took my dog there at 6 months (yorkie) to get groomed. Well trained for her age, she sits and stays on command and is well behaved. I was told, after the service ofcourse, that I would be charged an extra fee for bad behavior because my dog does not stand on command. This was not her first time being groomed and I have never heard of such a thing. I refused the fee and took my business right back to Petsmart. The wash was great she felt amazing afterward, but the cut was not as impressive as I imagined it would be.

My dogs are small and easy to wash at home, but I go to Wash the Wag regularly to get their nails clipped and to get healthy treats for them. I also recently got a dog harness there and was very appreciative of the service and assistance I received. This is a lovely store that I hope stays in this location for a long time.

I'm not going to hate on Nancy's review - just going to offer up my own opinion. We've been customers of the store, their grooming service, and their 'Four Paws and a Tail' walking service for almost four years now. We can confidently say their service is attentive, knowledgeable, and customer-appreciative. They keep track of what you order (and will special order your requests) and will offer suggestions about the healthy options.
They also have a sizable selection (given the store isn't too big). You may have to knock on the door when you arrive (if it's locked a sign to knock is posted). This is a small set of shops in a residential neighborhood - this is not a package goods store in a strip mall. Just saying to be aware and expect accordingly. There's street parking on a semi-busy road, it's a small interior so there are shelves everywhere and sometimes a delivery box or two on the floor. There's a tabby cat on the counter (have you noticed it's always a tabby cat in these stores?) This is the atmosphere and the character of a local shop - dig it, and if you want a gigantic chain store this may not be your spot (but maybe their charm can change your mind).
We have a standard poodle, and our (and his) experience with their groomer has been tremendous. The cut is terrific, and he gets many compliments for his mohawk. It takes skill to trim a poodle, and this store and their groomer have demonstrated this, as well as their sincere care and interest in the well-being of our animals. We trust them and their walking service to take care of our animals.
So this recommendation is made with full knowledge that we trust this service with the life of our pets, and keys to our place. For that kind of trust I'm willing to knock, wait to be let in and greeted with a warm smile. If you're in to supporting local business owners, please stop by and patronize this fine establishment. Somewhere between this review and Nancy's is the truth. (Nancy - I bet if you gave them another shot they can change your mind) It is up to you, dear consumer, to discover which review more accurately reflects this store.

We are new to the area. The owner was very welcoming to my wife and I. Our son (yellow Lab) was in the car and she came out to meet him. We were very impressed and intend to use their services. She even gave us recommendations as to walkers. This shows great orientation to customer service. I believe any other customers opinion to the contrary is an anomaly.

I don't recommend getting your dog groomed at this shop. They are scattered, disorganized and I was also told that the owners will actually perform grooming themselves (and they are not trained to do so). I actually stood outside in the cold because the doors were locked, and waited while nobody was in the shop to pick up my dog. On another occasion, I scheduled an appointment that was forgotten because of bad scheduling. They are not at all customer-oriented. I don't know how they stay in business.
